We have been going here for Sunday breakfast after Sunday mass with our family since our daughter was 2 and now she is 21. We have watched this cafe grow as a business, become a staple in the community and the owners and family have become family to us. We appreciate businesses that hold their customers with respect and show them love because our world needs for love in it these days. This review is much overdue. My friends go here on a regular basis because the food is very consistent. I wouldn't say they have the most blockbuster food items, menu, etc., but I always leave satisfied with a feeling that I should go back again soon. read more

Excellent food!! Their hash browns are crispy and flavorful and their omelettes delicious! I really recommend this place. Note that on weekends they serve only breakfast. If you want lunch come during the week. Their prices are good also. I got a waffle, 3 eggs, hash browns, and 4 sausages for 7.95. Was excited to try this place, but was disappointed. Worst bacon I've ever eaten...not sure it was even bacon or turkey bacon they mistakenly gave me. I'm a black coffee drinker so I can distinguish off tasting coffee and this coffee was no good. My hash browns were burnt. Wanted to like this place but won't return. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast. Our total bill was $15, which is super cheap for what we got. He got an omelette with biscuits and gravy and I got biscuits and gravy with eggs and sausage. The omelette was SUPER yummy! The biscuits were warm and fluffy. The gravy needed a little pepper, but was great too. The servers were super friendly and really anticipated needs. The food came in less than 10 minutes. Definitely coming back. read more

It's a hangout for locals, they have a young lady who sat us and worked drinks, she was a gem and treated my daughter like royalty. I slip her a ten spot on a $25 Check after also tipping on the check only to find out from her that management jacks their tips so I'm glad I handed the extra to her directly. Standard diner food. Nothing exceptional. Nice staff and decent food. The soup however tasted like canned soup and I wasn't too happy about that. Everything else was good. I was jazzed to see they had zucchini fries on the menu, only to find out they didn't have any when I ordered them. As I continue my hunt for the best eggs florentine in the inland empire, this place falls short. Excellent hollandaise sauce, I sub the mushroom for tomato. The spinach needs to be fresh not canned. Wow is right! This is a great place for breakfast. I've lived in the area for years and never been here before. The service was very good and the food was even better. Also, the coffee is hot and fresh. The owners are the cook and the waitress. Also the restaurant is very colorful and clean. Had the corn beef hash brown scramble which was amazing. I got the vegetarian omelet with a biscuit. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Mostly I liked the friendly service and atmosphere. The restaurant is clean and quaint with Aqua colored walls. I have eaten at the Popular Cafe for breakfast several times and have had a positive experience every time . This place has a homey feel to it with several televisions showing the food network. The waitress/owner is also very nice. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. read more

Went in on a Saturday and had breakfast. It was empty. First initial reaction is cleanliness of the location. Needs some good cleaning especially the walls and new paint. We were greeted right away and had great service. The food was good and price was good. There was a weird smell at one point like sewers smell not sure where that came from. The service was horrible. Ming which is the "manager" and waitress was extremely rude when we tried to order a vegetable omelet. We wanted a regular vegetable omelet with diced chicken on top and she insisted that it was impossible to do that. As a customer we understand obviously that chicken cost more and she was treating us like we were stupid. We didn't care for the extra charge...AT ALL! She was practically laughing at us, because she wasn't understanding what we were saying. I am so so upset I will not AT ALL be eating here again. She was completely rude which is unfortunate because others praise her customer service and that is not what we got. On top of that she speaks over people.
