Just finished breakfast here and it was delicious! I had the cowboy breakfast which is a waffle/pancake/French toast, eggs, the crispy hash browns, and ham/sausage/bacon. The waffle was one of the best I have had at a restaurant and the hash browns were to die for! They were crisp without being burnt. The biscuits and gravy were also delicious. They are small but perfect as a side to a larger meal. The staff was very friendly and kept my coffee filled. I will be back soon. read more

Don't know what the others are complaining about... Staff is super friendly, service is good, and most importantly - breakfast is always on point. Came for breakfast with my husband and sister.. Husbands: Country fried steak and eggs with hashbrowns and a short stack. - the country fried steak was disgusting. Couldn't tell if it was chicken or beef. It was undercooked and you couldn't even cut through it from all the nerves.It was Disgusting - the pancakes were bland and tasted like the metal pan they were cooked in. Mine: breakfast bake with side of fruit - was just ok. My sister's: veggie egg frittata - looked good, tasted just ok. - her toast was nearly burnt. The decor: a mix of country style decor and Chinese decor with mint green walls. Terrible and needs updating. Would not come here ever again. read more

Very delicious food. Wouldn't believe it from the decor outside or in. No wait, immediate service on a Saturday morning. The only drawback was that our meal came 1 piece at a time. We got our side dishes first, then our breakfast plates. But once we got everything, it was extremely well cooked. I'm kind of obsessed with Popular Cafe... besides the delicious breakfast foods, the service is beyond amazing. The main waitress is SO welcoming and always prompts conversations with us, asks us how our food is, and is just an overall sweetheart. I love it! Now to the food- I've had their Greek Omelette and Spanish Omelette on egg whites manyyyy times, and I never get tired of how soft and tasty they are. I started eating eggs again after coming here. I love this place it is my little home away from home no matter how long a period between my visits they always remember my name :D My usual is the Chai Tea with a veggie omelet and toast but I have tried several other things on the menu and enjoyed them also. Mom and pop, Asian American fusion restaurant. Surprisingly delicious with breakfast served all day! It's a family owned business with the wife catering to the front while the husband cooks in the back, very quaint, personal, and inexpensive. Honestly, the interior needs a face life as it feels like you're in a Chinese home stuck in the 80's. Keep the Chinese decorations as it gives it personality, but change the wall color at least. The food, however, was delicious! Coffee cups were always being filled. The Egg Foo Young (mixed vegetables omelet Asian style) had an amazing sauce. With a bed of rice underneath, the flavors were spot on! Hash browns were fried perfectly, edges had a nice crisp to them. We also tried the Taco Omelet which tastes exactly as it sounds, served over a bed of hash browns. If you love tacos/ salsa/ eggs, the omelet actually works. Stopped for a quick breakfast. I wanted to do some work and eat. The service was prompt but was disappointed with the food. I ordered one of their morning specials 2 pancakes 2 eggs and 2 Bacons. The eggs were cooked great but the pancakes tasted blah and were hard to cut. So little rubbery. Then the bacon I could tell was cooked in the microwave. No. There should not be a microwave in a Restaraunt. I don't even use one when I cook. Ugh. So will not be going back. read more

It's a good place for breakfast. They serve limited breakfast before 11 (M-F) and on weekends they have a full menu. Get here before 12 and try the best eggs Benedict in town! Got the chicken fried steak and potatoes and eggs. The restraint setup is strange as per another yelped it does look like it used be a convient store. Now on with my review. Outside looks run dow umbrellas falling apart gates rusting letters on canopy worn out as well as others in dire need of repair. And now the food. The chicken fried steak does not look or taste homemade looks like it came from a frozen meat patty. Potatoes as per owner told me fresh no they were from frozen. Gravy bland no flavors or spices. Let's hope my stomach processes this and be on my way. She charged me 2.50 for a frigging can of pepsi. She should have poured it before she brought it to me but no she advertises the can. I argued about the can price she says she's been here 20 something years I told her about yelp and she had to change. She doesn't look like she wants to change I wouldn't surprise me if she shuttered her doors. This family is absolutely wondful. We have been coming here for twenty years... It started off as Phils and then moved to the location that it is in now. This place was not good at all. The interior feels weird, it doesn't feel like a restaurant, it feels like a building that should be a retail store. My shrimp and avocado omelette was nothing special, it was barely warm, my sister had food in her plate. There menu needs some fixing up. There's a sweet little Chinese lady every time I go so I'm guessing she's the owner. Her English is a bit limited but don't worry, she can get you anything you need. Her service is always efficient and friendly. The decor is a cross between diner and chinese restaurant and the presentation and plating is simple at best but the food is what got this rrstaurant my 5 stars.
