After passing by this place several times (it's right next to the public library), my wife and I decided to give it a try. I called for carryout, but they said it was best to come in because the pizzas take only a few minutes to bake due to the thin crust. My wife got the Popeye pizza and didn't enjoy it. She said there was too much spinach, very few pepperoni... along with a sauce that was kind of "off." I tasted it and I didn't really like it either. The sauce was bland and the overall flavor was light. Since I prefer a more robust pizza, I ordered a custom pizza. Porch Light lets you choose one sauce and four toppings for each pizza (they only offer two sizes... regular and kids). I ordered the buffalo sauce, pulled pork, grilled chicken, green peppers and jalapeños. It was pretty tasty and I enjoyed it. I'm not the biggest fan of wood-fired pizza (my favorite is deep-dish pizza), but this was as good as most. I probably won't return since my wife didn't enjoy it, but if you live in Pullman, it's worth a try out of curiosity and/or boredom since this town has limited restaurant options. read more

I love the pizza at porch light. It has been one of our favorite places in Pullman since it opened. I always order the Popeye with no garlic, and it never disappoints. If I was rating only on pizza, this is a 5 star establishment. I have typically been ordering a side salad to accompany my pie, their creamy balsamic dressing is really good. The last time I ordered the salad, I was shocked by how small the side salad was, so I asked. The staff member said "oh we got new bowls". Don't play this game with me... the older bowls were bigger and the side salad was a great deal at $3.00. The side salad now was puny and not worth the time. I would rather pay $0.50 more and get the old salad as opposed to paying the same price and now getting nothing. Don't blame the bowls! This isn't my first visit. This won't deter me from coming in for a Popeye pizza, but I won't be ordering any more salads. read more

Friendly service! The pizzas come out quickly and ingredients always taste fresh. They are thin crust pizzas baked in an actual brick oven. There are unique pizzas (my favorites are the Popeye and the one with the BBQ pork) but you can also customize your own pizza too. They have salads but I've heard that they're nothing special and not worth the cost. They have an outdoor seating area, which is dog-friendly and nice during the summer months. It's a small space but it can seat a surprising amount of people. They used to project old cartoons on one of the walls but haven't had it the last few times I went. The only downsides are that it can get crowded during peak hours and parking can be difficult to find. There is a parking lot right next to it but people often park there to go to other downtown restaurants/businesses too so it can fill up quickly. There is also some street parking but it's the same case as the lot. Contrary to their Yelp profile, they don't offer delivery. Sad, since I would definitely order deliver from them...their flavors are so yummy and at a decent price too! read more

Quality, delicious, and affordable pizza. All pizzas are $8 which can satisfy 1-2 people. I tried out the Bellisima of buffalo chicken, tomato, blue cheese, and green onions and it was super yummy. Delicious Pizza and Salads! I have to admit I was a little skeptical of how good this pizza/toppings would be for a classic 10" pizza at half the price. To my surprise and delight I was very impressed with the pizza and the salad. The pizza toppings were plentiful and good quality. The pizza sauce was tasty without the usual "too much oregano." You can taste the sweetness of the tomatoes; YUM! I was wowed by the green salad for $3.50. A large salad of mixed greens with an abundant amount of fresh cucumber, tomato and homemade dressings. This is because we ordered at the cashier and the iPad was really buggy. They had confirmed our payment and also gave us a receipt. We waited 15-20 min for out-the-door pizza. We noticed that people who ordered after us got pizza before us. And we have been waiting patiently. So we did a status check and realized that they had no record of our order. They had to look up via credit card number in order to pull it up. This of course is not okay. Not only were we waiting for our order much longer than the 5-8min average wait time, we were waiting for nothing! They were very aware of how they messed up. So they refunded us and made it on-the-house! We were completely refunded and our order was made immediately after. After a couple more minutes of patiently waiting, we later got a gift card for a free pizza. Wow! Way to not lose your customers. It might be because it's in pullman and word gets around when a business mistreats you, but all in all, they fixed their mistake and we would gladly eat from porch light again. Awesome place. You can build your own pizza or choose from their signature pizzas. Our group ordered veggie, then all meat, and a bleu with buffalo sauce, chicken, buffalo sauce. It was all super tasty with generous portions. We also ordered the caprese salad, all 4 of us enjoyed this and had to go boxes with pizza. The cool thing about this joint, procedure. The locals demonstrated how it is suppose to work. There is an area where you place your silverware, empty glasses and stack, as well as a big oak barrel for paper goods and trash. During warmer, dryer times there is a nice outside dining area. Would definitely go when we return to Pullman. read more

Thin crust, fresh ingredients, fire oven. If you are lactose intolerant DO NOT GET THE GOAT CHEESE. Usually goat cheese is lactose intolerant and I was really suspicious that they didn't charge extra for it. It was either a mistake by an employee or the goat cheese is actually blended goat cheese and cow cheese but my stomach started to react almost as soon as I had finished. I actually checked yelp today because when heading out today to eat I was thinking about the last time I was there and noticed that they wait to put the pizza in the oven if you declare that its an allergy, thinking I or someone had mentioned it. I've heard of that practice for gluten but not lactose. Either way I don't know if I am ready to try the "goat" cheese again; though for lactose intolerant people the soy cheese is just fine. I really wanted to like this place. Everyone I've met seems to love it, and at first I thought I had maybe just tried them on an off day. However, in the 4 times that I have been there, I have been disappointed. The flavors of the pizzas are good enough, and the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is excellent. Flavor on its own is not enough, though, as every single pizza I've tried from there has been burnt. One of my favorite spots in Pullman. It's not as good as other Artisan pizza spot I've tried but it's pretty decent. The quality of the crust is pretty consistent, and the sauces are pretty flavorful. I typically order a custom pizza, but when I order a pre-set pizza I usually get the Popeye! A helpful tip if you're a garlic lover and building a custom pizza is you can ask to add garlic to your pizza without using one of your topping options! I would have rated this spot much higher because like I said it's one of my favorites in pullman, but overall compared to other Artisan pizza spots it just doesn't compare. Also there's a limit on how many toppings for custom pizzas. read more

We went because of the welcoming atmosphere and in this regard, the restaurant delivered. However, the food is abysmal. The crust is hard as a rock and really nothing like pizza crust. I can only assume the good reviews are from people who have not eaten well made pizza before or are friends with the owners and trying to promote the business. I've eaten at Porch Light before today and felt like the pizza was decent and the service was plenty good enough. Today was a completely different and negative experience and I've heard that I'm not at all alone. Thirty minutes after ordering two pizzas (Popeye and Geno) to go at 1:28pm on Friday, I'm thinking my order should be called out by now. I've heard many other names called and I've stepped out the front door only once for 30 seconds. Thirty-five minutes after ordering and three staff including the guy that took my order are making eye contact with me like they know I should have my order, but they do nothing. At 45 minutes I go stand in the tight corridor near the only guy that's delivering pizzas to tables and he makes three round trips with an effort to get around me, but never asking if I had an order, so I ask him to check on my order. He pulls the two cold pizzas off the top rack at 2:17pm and I tell him that I've been here 50 minutes with no call. "Sorry sir." I left. Staff might deliberately do nothing for their entertainment. Popeye was okay after microwaving. Geno was very bland like no flavor at all. read more

For the vegetarians out there, there are many options for you. I had "The Garden" pizza with more added mushrooms and the "Geno" pizza with mushrooms to swap with the meat. Both were so delicious. If you're looking for a more artisan style pizza and fast on a lunch break, this is the place to go. First, customer service is a solid FIVE! I ordered a greek salad and forgot to ask them to leave the onions off. The girl that made my salad saw me picking the onions off and she offered to remake my salad. I explained that it was my mistake, but she insisted that she remake it. I declined but it was so gracious of her to offer. The staff is very nice and gets the food out quick. Good customer service although we were there when it was pretty slow, so service was quick. The food only took about 5 min or so to get on the table. Once again Porch Light Pizza has made us fatter and happier. Not your traditional pizza, but still really good. Salads are great, it is almost always hopping around here. We got here just in time, dinner rush showed up moments after we ordered. Now it is completely full. Not one seat is left open. This is the place for comfort food and comfortable atmosphere. Porch light is a great artisan pizza shop. The pizzas are all personal sized and thin crust cooked in a wood fire oven. They have a great selection of toppings and many of their speciality pizzas sound kinda random but are delicious. My personal favorite is the pulled pork BBQ pizza. Good value for your money. For being a middle tier pizza joint, this place is perfect and hits a sweet spot that I didn't know I wanted before. It is far nicer quality than any chain or delivery pizza, but doesn't elevate itself to the ultra expensive and rare ingredient pizzerias that are becoming more prevalent in the Northwest. That is a good thing. Porch Light has incredibly fair and reasonable prices not only for the amount but also the quality you are getting. No matter how many times I went there I would for some reason be shocked when my total comes out to be as cheap as it did. Their pizza is made with all fresh ingredients right in front of you. It is cooked in a traditional brick oven which makes the crust perfectly fluffy but also a little flaky. The staff was always nice every time we went there, and were working very hard to turn out all of the orders as fast as they could! The wait wasn't long at all. The salad arrived shortly after we ordered with fresh real mozzarella, which made the salad delightfully refreshing. My personal favorite of the pizzas that are listed on the menu is the Popeye. Once you try what they have to offer, you can also create your own, which dpending on what you are into can give you some really cool combinations and creations, all while still maintaining a reasonable price. This may not be a dress and suit location for a date night like most 5 star restaurants, but I believe it deserves five stars due to the quality of food and service, at a reasonable price that lets you leave with a happy stomach and a happy wallet. -Cheers, read more
