Tire and Wheel Warranty When I arrived to pick up my 2026 911 Carrera, the finance manager spoke to me about purchasing the tire and wheel warranty package. He mentioned that it was the only warranty package that must be purchased before leaving the dealership. I can understand why. About four months after taking delivery of my car, the left rear tire kept losing air, very slowly. I searched for a puncture, but could not find one. At five months, I got curb rash on my right front wheel...ugh. Caner had contacted me for a six-month follow-up, and I mentioned both issues. It was during that conversation that he asked if I'd like a service tech to contact me. That is when I spoke to Tim Wong over the phone. We made an appointment for the very next day, and I drove to the dealership. After filling out some paperwork, Tim let me know that my warranty included a loaner car, and he offered me a new Macan. While in the waiting room, I heard the receptionist offer local customers Uber service to their homes and back. I dropped off my 911 on Thursday, and it was ready for pickup on the following Tuesday. I mentioned to Tim that I had an appointment on Monday, so he kindly arranged my pickup for the following day. The man who serviced my car, Bowdoin, sent me a video of the car's inspection via Tim's email. He was very thorough and friendly in his assessment. Caner was off that day, so he arranged for Hart to go over some of the PCM questions I had. He answered both and was engaging, friendly, and professional. My left rear tire had a nail, which caused a slow leak. The tire was replaced. The curb rash on my right front rim was fixed as well. I've come to realize that a brand is only as good as the people who represent that brand. So many of my friends have said, "Yeah, they should do that since it's a Porsche and the amount you have to pay for them!" In theory, that makes sense. Yet I've had horrible encounters at Porsche Fremont, and it is the same ownership as Walnut Creek Porsche, Fletcher Jones. Two opposed levels of service. My friend, who has owned 14 911s, has his cars serviced at Monterey Porsche, and his stories are horrible. This is not just Porsche, but any brand, Sony, Canon, etc. These are the individuals I have encountered at Walnut Creek Porsche, and I could not be more pleased with the levels of service I have received. When I got to the dealership he introduced me to someone on his team to finish the paperwork and delivery, but he was still around through the whole thing. The next day he called me himself. Just to ask if I was happy with the car and if I had any questions. That kind of follow up isn't something you see much anymore. I brought my wife's Panamera to Porsche Walnut Creek for the first time this week to replace a tire that caught a nail in it. The whole staff was warm and engaging while I was there. I was immediately waved in from the street as I drove up and greeted as I opened the car door. Service Rep Austin was great today helping diagonoisng the problem with my 2020 Cayenne's 'Battery low' warning light. It was good news, bad news for the battery. It still carries a strong charge (good news) but a sensor inside the 6 year old lithium battery is signaling a false positive failure and the only way to turn-off the warning light is a new battery (bad news). I recently purchased a pre-owned Porsche 911 from Walnut Creek Porsche, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. The negotiation was handled entirely via chat and was smooth, transparent, and efficient -- no pressure, no games. I requested that the car be certified pre-owned since it met Porsche's CPO guidelines, and the dealership completed the CPO process without hesitation. Exactly as promised. My salesperson, Cole Scordelis, was exceptionally thorough. Before I ever set foot at the dealership, he sent detailed videos of the car so I could review condition and features in advance, which made the in-person transaction quick and easy. After taking delivery, I noticed some degradation of the rear deck-lid seal (the car is a Cabriolet). While this item isn't explicitly covered under the CPO warranty, Cole immediately agreed that it should have been replaced prior to delivery to meet Porsche's high CPO standards. He ordered the part -- and then went truly above and beyond by personally driving an hour to my home to replace the seal himself. That level of ownership, integrity, and customer care is rare. What made the behavior even more noticeable was the comparison. The Porsche dealership near my home in a more established area treated me with genuine professionalism, transparency, and courtesy. To make matters worse, the unnecessary credit inquiry they initiated ended up lowering my score for no reason. If you're not offering them top dollar, the level of care changes dramatically. November 3-5 (another 2+ days) The same pattern repeated: slow responses, no actionable information, and no clear direction -- despite the fact that a lease review requires timely coordination. At that point, the requirements began to change. I was told I would need either a co-signer or a "significant" down payment, yet **no actual dollar amount or guideline was ever provided.** The conditions shifted without explanation, and the lack of specifics made the process feel less like a legitimate review and more like a way to discourage the transaction without stating it directly. When I ultimately said I would not be moving forward, the dealership notified me that my application was "declined," phrasing it as though this had come from Porsche Financial. In reality, it was a dealership-level closure presented in a way that implied lender involvement, which was misleading and unnecessary. To summarize: 1) Initial reluctance to engage 2) Renewed outreach once the price dropped 3) Requirements that changed without explanation 4) **No clear down-payment amount ever provided** 5) File closed by the dealership but communicated as if it were a lender decision On November 18, I received the final "declined" notification, which confirmed that the file had been closed at the dealership level rather than by Porsche Financial. The overall pattern of delays, shifting conditions, withheld details, and the way the closure was framed did not reflect a transparent or respectful customer experience. If the dealership had no genuine intention of supporting a lease, saying that upfront would have been far more professional. I would have considered a purchase, but instead I was left with a 40 point credit hit which made it clear they never intended to complete any deal that was not profitable for them. If you are considering buying a Porsche, especially a Macan S, or dealing with Porsche Walnut Creek, think twice. My 2020 Porsche Macan S with only 36k miles requires a full engine replacement due to a widely known manufacturer defect (engine scoring) that Porsche refuses to cover. This experience has exposed a company and a dealership that prioritize profit over standing behind their product, resulting in appalling customer service. If you are an average person who has dreamed of owning a Porsche and start out owning a Porsche Macan S like I did, this will soon become your nightmare. My beautiful 2020 Macan S only has 36k miles. This car was babied, meticulously cared for, garaged 100% of the time and received all of the required maintenance and inspections. I have been bringing this car into Walnut Creek Porsche over the last 3 years because I had suspected something was wrong with the transmission/engine only to be dismissed and ignored. I originally brought it in when it was still under the manufacturer warranty where I had explained the issues I was experiencing were widely known by other Porsche users based on some research I had done from the Porsche forums only to be told arrogantly "We don't read forums here". They had my car for the weekend, only to return it to me stating it was fine. I also brought it in because soon after oil changes my low oil engine light would come on and again was told everything is fine, and they performed yet another oil change. I then started to hear a faint noise that I knew wasn't normal so I brought it in again. After having my car for a week, I am now being told after only 36K miles my car needs a new engine due to engine scoring (Conveniently outside the manufacturer warranty). After being completely shocked by this, given in my lifetime I have never heard of or had a car that needed an engine after only 36k miles, I did my own research. I have learned that this is a known issue specially around this year, make and model. Cheap pistons were used for these engines causing rocking which results in engine scoring and total engine replacement. There are several lawsuits for this same thing, as a matter of fact Audi also was included in this however they have made it right by extending their warranties to cover the engine for 8 years. However Porsche does not care or stand behind their product or have any interest to make this right. I had also purchased an extended warranty for my car which they were willing to pay $35k to replace the engine, however Porsche Walnut Creek is charging $59k to install it for a total of $98k, Mind blowing. Porsche Walnut Creek said they would offer to buy it back for an insulting $15k. I contacted the GM of Porsche Walnut Creek, no response. I contacted Porsche North America corp offices, they did not want to help and instead only offered to contact Porsche Walnut Creek, when they did they simply called me back to say Porsche Walnut Creek will not assist in any repair cost. They have done nothing to help and haven't even contacted me. I am completely disgusted and appalled at how I have been treated. This information about this manufacturing defect is widely known, a simple search and you too will find this information, there are several videos also describing this very thing. I thought they'd give me a good deal since I worked with them so long. Didn't happen that way. They quoted more with longer wait time for the new car than another dealership and would not buy my used car after initially stating they would. Alex is the Porsche classics specialist and is extremely thorough with his work and communication. Alex did the brakes, electrical work on passenger door locks and rear breaks lights on the 1988 G body and he did the mixing servos and CCU troubleshooting on the 964. The most recent was a failed water pump and valve block on the 2017 991.2. Porsche has an extended warranty for both parts from 2017-2019 for 10 years or up to 120k miles so car was covered. Dropped off the car on a Thursday and it was finished the following Wednesday. I called the parts department before going there to check price and availability on a simple crush washer for a drain plug at the block. Parts guy on the phone quotes me $3.80+ I go there and Fernando at the parts desk charges me $5.19 plus tax. It's not going to change my world and although you can buy the same washer for $2.00 on Pelican Parts, I did need it today so I paid it. I just think if you're going to quote one thing over the phone, and charge something higher once you got them in the door.....is dirty. But, it is a dealership. I just bought my very first Porsche from Fletcher Jones Walnut Creek. I saw a couple of used Porsches on the dealer's website. I went to Fletcher Jones, hoping to test drive the two cars. When I arrived, I met Cole Scordelis. Both of the cars I wanted to see had already been sold. From the start, Cole was incredibly professional, helpful, and a delight to work with. I told Cole that my dream car was the Porsche Boxster. I knew a brand new Boxster was out of my price range and I have never driven a Porsche so the first thing to do was to test drive a Boxster to see if I liked it. Since there wasn't a used Boxster for me to test drive, Cole had me sit in a Cayman because the interior was most like the Boxster. Then he said that they were expecting a used Boxster to arrive in a week. We exchanged information and as soon as the car arrived, he let me know. He also let me know as soon as it had been cleaned and checked over before taking it out for a test drive. He let me be the first person to see the car since the other cars weren't available. Once I drove the car, I fell immediately in love. I got back from the test drive and just said, "If I can afford her, I want to buy her." From the beginning of the sale process to the end, Cole was wonderful. He answered my many questions and since the sale, he still answers my questions. When I found scratches on the front rims, he had that taken care of. When I saw a torn mud flap, he took care of that too. Every single interaction has been top-notch. Was looking to get a tow hitch installed on my wife's Cayenne. Called last week, spoke to a woman who took my information and said will get back to me with a quote. Never did get back to me. I just called today, 8/25 at 3:50pm. Spoke to a guy. He was able to get a quote for the part, but not for the installation. I questioned why, since I would think they should know the effort it takes to install an OEM part to their vehicle. He huffed about it and said he can talk to service advisor to get a more accurate quote. I said great, please do that. He replied "Okaaaay.....if that's really what you want!". No shit Sherlock. He's supposed to call me back, but let's see if that really happens. On a separate note, I got an email from the dealership's service manager, "Doug St. Clair", stating that there is an important recall for my wife's vehicle, and to make an appointment to get it addressed. I did so. While I was on the phone, this guy said that there is no recall on the vehicle. Had I not called about this other issue, I would have shown up to the confirmed appointment date only to be told that there is no recall. He made some excuse about the emails going out from Porsche and not the dealership, but regardless they had the appointment on the books and didn't bother to notify their client. I'm not holding my breath about getting a call back from this service department--I do sincerely hope that the mechanics are competent. (BTW, their sales team was terrific.
