The glowing reviews here led me in... Yelp has never steered me wrong, until today. Beer: The beer we tasted here is alright... The Hefeweizen was the stand out. We tried the beer wheel and then moved to the Hefeweizen for a pint. Beer rating: 3.5 stars Service: There is one waitress / server who works like a horse to bartend and waitress all tables in the place. To say service here is slow is an understatement... we did the beer wheel, appetizers and 5 mains (the mains were bar food, so doesn't take long to prepare). It took over 2 hours and 15 minutes for this magic to happen. She likely needs a raise as she works a like a draft horse. Waitress rating: 3 Kitchen Timeliness: As I mentioned, it took multiple hours for the food to arrive. Maybe in California where weed is legal, the kitchen staff was wasted and thought they were moving at 85 miles per hour. Reality is they weren't. Kitchen efficiency rating: -2 (yes, that's a minus 2). Food: When the food finally came out, it was good bar food. The Reuben was good, the chicken sandwich was tasty and the ABC salad was good. All food comes in baskets and you essentially wait your own table. Food rating: 3.5 stars Random: There's a random element going on here. Some locals and regulars who don't appear to work here wander in and out of the kitchen and behind the bar. Not sure what that's about or how any health code inspector would view random folks wandering around food prep areas. Random score: Weird Live Music: sounded good, looks like fun. Music score: 4 Family Friendliness: Patrons are mainly locals, with lots of loud voices and "F" bombs being dropped a lot in close proximity to our table. Good for a tattoo, biker or beard convention, not so great if you elect to visit with a family and kids. Family Friendliness rating: 2 Overall rating: 2 (check my math, I believe it adds up to a 2, using a mathematical average). Recommendation: if you're single or a couple and have plenty of time to wait, want to listen to some live music, drink average home brew, and watch the regulars, give it a try. I've always wanted to try Port O' Pints because their food looked so amazing on their Facebook posts. I'm not a beer drinker but I'm sure the beer is good as the bar was mostly full. I think I read that Port O' Pints has a new owner but I thought things were the same when it came to the menu. Well, I was wrong. There is a small pub menu. Be aware that you'll be charged 5% more if you don't pay with cash. We ordered a pub salad and their pizza special. The waitress took our order and brought us two ice teas. We ordered one ice tea and a coke so she fixed it. We got our pub salad (served on paper in a basket) and an extra plate (paper) to share - which absorbed my vinaigrette and left a nice oily puddle on the table. When the waitress came to clear away the salad plates she acted surprised that we hadn't been brought our pizza. She looked at the order she put in and apparently the cook didn't get the order. Something about paper running out of the ticket machine - I don't know. She apologized and the man in the back - I'm assuming the cook - brought out a couple more paper plates - with a nice long eyebrow hair sitting atop the plate - and told us the pizza would be up soon. The pizza arrived and was pretty good Hawaiian with a sweet chili sauce. It seemed it could have been cooked a little longer but they probably hurried it along to make up for lost time. Sooo...not impressed with the food. The place is dark and dingy and they're were some irritating flies buzzing around our heads. Probably just a good beer drinking place and a place to meet up with your beer drinking friends. read more

Personally I like this spot better than Seaquake which has good beer but it feels too much like some big soulless warehouse, while Port O'Pints is more like a classic pub with plenty of soul. Good food options and an amazing selection of beers, truly a hidden gem on the north coast. read more

This is what I call an awesome local business that has their community's back when life is good, and difficult. Neighbors being evacuated from their homes due to forest fires definitely qualifies for life being difficult, especially on top of all this Covid insanity. Where to begin? This place is a godsend. After car trouble on the 199 our spirits were low. The people of Port 'o Pints made us feel so at home with ciders, nachos, and a pizza (all delicious, by the way)! Local dive bar - nothing fancy - with indoor and outdoor seating. The first day we came by, they were closed even though they were supposed to be open so call ahead. Wait staff not friendly to the point of being rude. There were four of us, and we asked if we could taste a few beers before selecting. The bartender got an attitude after we asked for more than one taste and said that was enough. We got a couple IPAs, a stout and porter. None of them were remarkable. We didn't try any of the food. We were just visiting but in the future will try the other brewery in town. read more

My husband and I stopped in for dinner as we were traveling through the area and I am so glad we did. The Brewban sandwich, with corned beef, was so delicious I am literally going to plan another trip that takes us through Crescent City just to have it again! Like a wee Irish prize fighter, Port O'Pints punches way above its weight. This little family-owned brewery is very proud of their beers, and justifiably so. They're putting out a wide variety of awesome brews, and they have dozens of awards to prove it. Their service is as good as their beer, too. When the bartender found out I like IPAs, he hit me with sample after sample, without me even asking, and kept handing me samples even after I thought I'd settled on one. Excellent in everything. We were greeted by the owners that have a real passion for their business and the brewing. I ordered the Del Norte Porter and it was as good a Porter as I have ever had. My wife had the Warrior IPA and also said it was excellent. We ordered a Bavarian Pretzel and Pizza and frankly that was also very good. We couldn't be more happy with our stop at Port O'Pints. The place is small but plenty of room to sit and enjoy their beer. I wish that I could source it closer to home. I took some home, but not enough! The locals are super friendly and the bar staff can appear grumpy but after a couple pours they sweetened up. This place is a gem. Everytime I'm in town I have to come and get the dean o'dels IRA. Easily one of my favorite beers I've ever had.

Solid bar. The food was good and the beers were yummy! We stopped by on a windy day with our dogs after a hike. The bartender was super nice and brought out a big bowl of water for our dogs to enjoy while we had lunch and a couple of beers. The staff was super on point with each guest that came in and did a great job of managing a busy influx of folks while still maintaining their covid protocols. And all the guests really respected the place and rules as well. Felt like a great neighborhood bar. This is seriously my kind of bar. Had it not been covid-era when we visited I totally would have hung out inside at the bar and had a couple more drinks. read more

This place is like walking into a bitchin' Irish Pub, with its dark woods, locals joking around at the bar, amazing food, and stellar beer! If you're an IPA person, try their Hemp IPA. It's legal and fantastic! You won't be disappointed. The soft pretzels come with your choice of dipping sauces. I HIGHLY recommend the beer cheese and house mustard. We aren't often in Crescent City, but this place is totally worth the drive here! read more

Casual, laid back, awesome vibe. This is some damn fine beer... and port o' pints is consistent in this. We travel to crescent city, get a hotel room- the whole nine- just to drink this beer. Amazing selection of craft beers! Great pub food. It's a restaurant, so children are allowed with their parents. The bartender thoughtfully suggested to two different families that entered that might better enjoy the side dining room. This was so because the patrons at the bar in front may not always watch their language (lol). This was a small gesture, but speaks volumes about the hospitality and values of this wonderful local tavern. Most of the beers are available to take home in pint or 1/2 gallon bottles ("growlers"). State law requires that the bottles be sealed with a shrink-wrap collar of sorts. 5-stars all around! read more

Very mixed feelings on this place. The beer was five stars but the food was definitely on the lower end. I would come back for some beers but would eat somewhere else. The woman behind the bar was incredible, handling service of the whole bar and patio all on her own. The gentlemen who dropped the food off ran away like he just dropped off food to his ex girlfriend a week after he caught her cheating on him.... with his dad. We just wanted to ask for some ranch. A perfect summer day and I rode to Crescent City for the redwoods and to check out the birds and sea lions in the harbor; but before going on Anchor Street where I would be tempted to indulge in Charter Restaurant's seafood, I took a short detour to Port O' Pints Brewing, This is a small, somewhat out of the way place that manages to make and stock a great variety of beer. The Irish Red was excellent, smooth with just a hint of bitter. The chicken panini sandwich was the special for the day. It was very good with chicken, onions, cheese, tomato and a pesto sauce with a bit of fire. Kettle-style potato chips and a long wedge of dill pickle were included. On a Monday noon, the place wasn't busy and the bartender assisted the waitress so the service was good. read more

This place was awesome! My husband and I stumbled upon it after a gnarly Redwoods hike. Beer and good food were in order service was wonderful. Bartender seemed to be handling most of the front of house details. We didn't mind, he was very pleasant and kind. Our food was delicious and hearty and paired well with our beers. My husband had Sneaker Wave and i enjoyed 3 Sisters. We also left with a bottle of 3 Sisters, aged in Humboldt Distillery Whiskey barrels for 30 months (dear God) All in all, this place is 10/10.
