[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot got a casual night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very spacious area both indoor and outdoor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend the 14 1/2 pie.

Ok, so I'm mixed in this review. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's sort of like lunch room seating and loud inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But, the food and drinks are amazing. The waitress helped my on friend switch around her food allergies with no issue. So if you don't mind lunch room seating and it soundin[[HIGHLIGHT]]g like a cafeteria then give it a try.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

You ever leave the concert early in hot pursuit of pizza and end up getting more than you bargained for? Me too! I was so happy to belly up to the Porta bar after a long day outside enjoying a concert next door at The Stone Pony. I needed pizza. I didn't want pizza, I needed it. My date and I probably could have stuck to one pizza to split but each decided to get our own in the name of...being starving? I don't know. He ordered the Scampi pizza and I ordered whatever spicy italian meat concoction was on the menu. The crust of the pizza at Porta is perfection and I loved how fresh everything tasted. We didn't opt for drinks but the menu looked solid. I would come back anytime I find myself in Asbury and appreciate how awesome the bar staff here was. Another bonus? Food came out in like 7 minutes and you can see the chefs firing off pizzas in the big wood fired oven. We had leftovers to enjoy!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice place, good atmosphere, friendly staff and a decent, fairly limited menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had an old fashioned, shared the fresh ricotta and olives and had the octopus for myself. Everything was amazing. The ricotta was so fresh and a good portion size as was the octopus and the awesome fennel salad. A little pricey but the quality and quantity made for it. I would definitely return.

Porta is always solid. This location is huge, and when we popped in on a random Thursday night there wasn't an empty seat in the house. Love the food and also love the vibes - they just do it right. I always order the bootzin pasta which has a spicy and flavorful sausage ragu and lots of fresh olives. You can't go wrong with any pizza, and their homemade ricotta and fresh mutz are deeeelish. This was the perfect place to grab a bite and a drink before seeing a show at Asbury Lanes!

Pizza was pretty good if you like Neapolitan pizza style. Meatballs and pasta were ok. Good for a quick bite if you are headed to or from the Stone Pony.

Stopped in again on a whim. Quite a change from off-season. Still they were able to seat us with no wait thanks to having long tables with open seating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loud, but fun atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tried the eggplant this time and meatballs, bread and oil on the side. Eggplant resembled a lasagna with multiple layers. It was a hefty portion. Homemade meatballs were solid. Not much to say about the oil and bread, although I really think it would be nice to have it served complimentary on all the tables. Shaker cheese provided on tables was delicious! Gnocchi seemed to be the popular choice (pricey though at $30) along with quick pizzas. If I could rate 3.5, I would. Overall it was good, location is great, but food just ok.

Etc, etc. A little over a week before, received a call saying they couldn't honor the reservation due to a "booking system oversight" with Resy. They first offered to move my reservation to Friday or Sunday, which didn't fit our schedule. I requested a different time on Saturday night, and was told they were not accepting guests at all that night. Then they offered to move us to a completely different restaurant a few towns away, as in not the beach town we were hoping for. The whole experience was shady, and I don't buy the "booking oversight". It just seems like my reservation was bumped for another party or event. It would've been better to simply be honest. I understand the efforts to still get my money, but if you won't honor the original reservation to begin with, why would I trust you enough to make another one? At the very least, compensation for the disappointing experience would have been nice - drinks on the house, free dessert, anything really. I wanted to go here to try food by the up and coming Chef Viana, but it seems he cares more about being on the Food Network than his actual customers.

The order was large and delicious! Piping hot as well. Carol chose the Pappardelle al Telephono Nostro, house made pasta, mozzarella, tomato-cream sauce and fresh basil. this was a large order and my wife loved it. I chose the Tortelloni alla Bergamasca, veal tortellini with black truffle and rosemary veal reduction. Excellent as well! Dessert consisted. of a shared Pistachio Creme Brulee that was perfect. I didn't have an issue getting a reservation as it is winter and it is in a shore town. I arrived early, probably about 4:45 . At first, I was a little taken her back because I stood there waiting while the young lady was on the phone so I was standing in there a while, but once she was done, she led me to a table and from there everything was incredible. Let's start off with the fact that it is so tastefully decorated for the holiday season. I absolutely loved it. It was very clean very classic. Now onto the drinks. The wine menu was amazing. I settled on a glass of Pinot Grigio and then after dinner I tried one of their pistachio martinis, which was absolute heaven in a martini glass. I actually even ordered a second one because I don't know when I will ever get back down here I loved the bread service. It came with not just classic olive oil, but there was whipped ricotta cheese, and there was also some capers and olives, which were absolutely delicious. I started with the house salad. The presentation and the taste were absolutely amazing. I then had the halibut which was out of this world it was cooked perfectly . The flavor was amazing and then for dessert I had their special mini Zeppoli's half filled with Nutella and half filled with cannoli cream. I don't usually eat like this, but I figured I would treat myself for once and I enjoyed every moment of it and I cannot wait for the time when I can go back here

My friend and I were in town for an event and looking for a place to grab an early dinner…read morebeforehand when I came across Moonstruck. The restaurant was located in a multi-floor home on Wesley Lake, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Cookman Avenue. The first floor was more of a bar and lounge, and they had a live jazz band on the evening we visited. We checked in with the hostess and were escorted up to the second floor dining room, which was a charming spot that was breezy and comfortable, yet refined. The floor also had its own bar. Our server was on top of things, but was also clearly newer to the place. Regardless, once we got settled, she took our drink orders, which had taken us some time to decide on since the menu was creative and vast. I went with A Sidecar Named Desire, which included Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, Chinola passionfruit liqueur, and fresh lemon juice. I adore passion fruit and had always liked sidecars as well, so I figured it was worth a try, and I loved it! It had a good balance of tart sweetness and smokiness. My friend similarly enjoyed her spicy margarita, and we both imbibed while picking on some bread and herb butter. For our meal, we decided to start by sharing the Greek Salad, which was a massive bowl of romaine topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions, and Kalamata olives. We left off the feta cheese, but enjoyed the seasoned dressing made of red wine vinegar, honey, salt, oregano, and olive oil. It was a fresh and flavorful mix of vegetables that was a pleasure to eat. The entree options were endless and offered something for everyone. I wound up going with the Chilean Sea Bass, which was served over sweet onions and potatoes in a tomato herb reduction. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. It was a light and tasty dish that seemed perfect for the Spring season. After our meals we were a bit too full for dessert, but we decided to get a second round of drinks, mainly because I was dying to try their Pistachio Espresso-Tini. Wow, was that drink delicious! It blended Ketel One Vodka, Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur, natural pistachio flavor, and fresh espresso. The coffee notes were not super prevalent, but the creaminess, nuttiness was the real highlight. It was a decadent way to end a delicious meal. After we settled the bill and headed downstairs, I noticed several bowls of after-dinner mints, which were a nice touch. From the relaxed atmosphere to the interesting and expansive menu, Moonstruck was a terrific option for our Asbury dinner experience.

My husband and I recently had dinner at Moonstruck, and unfortunately, it was one of the most…read moredisappointing dining experiences we've ever had. Our server, Michael, provided by far the worst service we've ever received. He appeared to be under the influence of something, as he spent long periods simply standing around making odd faces while our table and several others waited and waited for him to acknowledge us. We were left wondering if anyone was going to take care of us. When my husband politely asked about our meal, Michael became rude instead of apologetic or helpful. The food itself had good flavor, but it arrived cold, like it was not served right away, which was disappointing. To end the meal, we ordered a cappuccino, but it was so poorly made that it tasted like nothing but warm milk. It was completely undrinkable. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've always loved Moonstruck. It's been one of my favorite restaurants because of its excellent food and outstanding service. If this is the level of service the new owners are willing to accept, I worry about the restaurant's future. I truly hope management addresses these issues because Moonstruck has always been top notch!
