I organized a DineLA outing with some friends and was really excited to finally check out Porterhouse, but sadly, I can't say it lived up to the hype. Everything was overly salty--the butter for the bread, the mignonette sauce on the oyster, and the blue cheese puree for the wagyu carpaccio. Two of us upgraded to the ribeye, and unfortunately, neither steak was cooked correctly. Mine was way undercooked so I had to send it back. They recooked the same piece, but it came back drenched in sauce. I wish we had been asked if we wanted sauce with our steaks because I definitely would have requested it on the side. I was honestly shocked when my reheated steak came back covered in even more sauce. I didn't want to make a big stink about it, so I just ate a couple of bites. If I could make one recommendation, I'd say skip the upgrade. The filet mignon was actually good and cooked perfectly. On the plus side, the service was good, and the restaurant itself is small with a nice, intimate feel.

We came for dine LA and our meal was amazing. The only bummer was the fact that the oysters came already dressed...not a fan of them being pre doused in sauce.

Best happy hour menu, especially the $8 old fashioned. I've never eaten here because I can't get past the delicious drinks. Love the bar area and friendly staff.

Came here for Valentine's Day and it did not disappoint. My girlfriend and I ordered the Waygu Filet Mignon and the Osso Buco so we could split and have some of each. Both were extremely delicious. The Osso Buco is only a Valentine's Day dish but the Waygu Filet is a dish they have all the time. The Waygu mignon was my preferred. We both had the crab cake as the appetizer and it was phenomenal. Lastly I got the espresso cheesecake and the girl got salted caramel creame depot. Wow both were so delicious. I'd go back again. The atmosphere is small and very intimate. Perfect for a date

I was really excited to try Porterhouse and thought our anniversary would be the perfect occasion. We arrived dressed up, expecting a more upscale atmosphere, but were a bit disappointed to find many patrons in sweats and T-shirts. The overall vibe was much more casual than anticipated. The food was fairly average. The bread was disappointing and tasted a bit stale. That said, I did enjoy the steak, crab cake, and the potatoes with bacon. The cocktails were also decent. Service was excellent and definitely added an extra star to the experience. I do love seeing so many new restaurants opening in El Segundo. Overall, Porterhouse is worth a try--just be sure to set your expectations accordingly.

This review is way overdue. We visited Porterhouse on a Tuesday night. We shared a Caesar salad and each had the salmon. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The service was great, and street parking was convenient.

Came here to celebrate my husband's work achievement. Got a reservation day of and went 2 hours after booking. We both got the Prime Ribeye and fries. Prime Ribeye - First bite and I was shook. I don't even crave steak like this, but it was cooked perfectly and sooo tender. Wish there was sauce that came with it, but you have to order it on the side. Definitely recommend getting sauce since this piece of meat is very fatty. Fries - This item is not on the menu but you can order it on the side. It was nothing special and honestly, the fries tasted overdone. They skimped out BAD on the portion. Overall, would definitely come here again for a nice dinner when I have $200 to spend LOL.

A hidden gem nestled in downtown El Segundo, Porterhouse is not only an amazing steakhouse, but an equally amazing tribute to a fallen hero Ron Porter. For starters, an Old Fashion with any one of their top shelf bourbons sets the mood, paired with the Elk Carpaccio which was simply mouth watering seasoned to perfection. Then the main course, I had the Wagyu Filet, my friend had the Wagyu New York Steak. Both were cooked med rare and served isolated on a warmed plate with a sprinkle of sea salt. Nothing else needed but we did order the Pan Roasted Mushrooms and Cheesy Potatoes sides which were great. Honestly, hands down the BEST filet and steak we've ever consumed. Excellent steaks, drinks, and service. Porterhouse will not disappoint. Thank you Ron for your service and thank you to your friends and family who came together to give us an amazing place to experience your legacy. We came here before going to Candy Cane Lane. I've been here for Dine LA and Happy Hour so I knew the prices would be comparable to all good steak houses. But I believe they have the best burgers in the South Bay. This time I tried their Thursday special which was steak frites(hanger steak and fries). It was nothing special and I should have ordered the burger. Service is fantastic.

this has taken a look at the bar, a great selection of your spirits, and the bartender hooked up some hell of a good drinks two

Let me first stat by saying if you're a firefighter a relative to a firefighter or someone inspiring to be a firefighter, you need to check this place out, dedicated to a Firefight from Riverside, California. Now let me go into the restaurant the food the service in the ambience two thumbs up five stars. Everything was so good. A big shout out to our server Maria who did an amazing job check out that ribeye. You will not be disappointed. I will definitely be going back again.

My first time going to this little hidden gem and it was such a great experience. I think it's really only known by the locals so it doesn't get crazy crowded unless it's the weekend. I do still recommend making a reservation. The bar is so cute and has everything you could ask for and the wine selection is extensive. I had the porterhouse steak and had it cut and cooked medium rare. I can honestly say it was perfectly cooked it perfection and I'm picky when it comes to steak. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was perfect. I highly recommend this quaint steakhouse and it's definitely going to be a frequented restaurant by me.

Intimate and Welcoming Experience! I celebrated my 32nd birthday here with a small group. The hosts were not only friendly but also accommodating. The food was excellent! I could have asked for a better steak, or moment trying out a new restaurant on my birthday. I was appreciative for them being able to store my birthday cake, and serving it. El Segundo is one of my favorite cities, the locals are so nice and it's calm in the area. I hope you enjoy!

Asparagus, potatoes, New York Wagyu (I don't remember the sauce but it was delicious!)

My husband brought me here for my 35th birthday dinner. Very cozy and intimate as soon as we walked in. We were greeted and seated right away since he made reservations. The service overall was wonderful and our server made great recommendations and answered any questions we had (portion sizes, favorites). Started with some drinks, I just remember ordering paper plane second and my husband had the old fashion. Both drinks were yummy ! We started by sharing the oysters on the half shell. They were pretty good but I'd want to try a different appetizer next time. We ordered a Caesar salad and they split it for us and also ordered bread, both were really good. Shared the Wagyu 12oz New York, jumbo asparagus, and the mashed potatoes. He explained all of the sauces and the one we ended up choosing was soooo good but I don't think the steak NEEDED it. Dessert came as bread pudding for me and melon cheesecake for him. Overall, had a great night with great food and great company!

Ambiance is nicely decorated, it's part of the hotel, so just walk right in, pass the lobby, take the elevator to the 6th floor and you are there. Parking is free and plenty of it outside, do not feel the need to pay. Service: Horrible, I would give her a zero if I could. We had the woman server, reddish hair, one who I thought would be seasoned. Oder took her about 8 minutes, she then walk away and not said why. It was apparent that there was an issue with the table. Drinks took about another 12 mins to arrive and when they did it would have been great if she had spilled them. Drinks were horrible. My rum and coke was served flat and warm. Ice was dirty, seemed like no preventative maintenance takes place. No napkins were served, and at no time did she stop by to check in on us. Bartenders... not presentable at all. I didn't know what I was looking at. There was no way for me to tell if he was a bartender, or anyone else making the drinks. He seemed hot and sweaty, completely off, and wearing some sort of white T-Shirt., again, you couldn't event tell that it was a bartender making that drink, the entire experience was horrible. The drinks were so bad that we took 2 sips and said it's time to go. Waitress came by, we checked out and she just stood there waiting for a tip. We felt forced to tip her, when in reality I wanted to say, please quit your job. Folks, if you are looking for a nice classy drink, or something made right, do your self a favor and go elsewhere. if you are staying there, either go to the lobby bar, or better yet, skip out and head to Manhattan beach. No one should pay over $50.00 for poorly made drinks, served on a dirty glass, warm and with less than mediocre service.

The house poke salad, crispy pork gyoza, edamame, grilled jumbo scallop skewers, grilled shrimp skewers, and the Wagyu ribeye yakitori were all packed with incredible flavor. To drink, I had the refreshing Lychee Mocktail, and we also tried King Plus's five-sake flight, which is a great way to experience a variety of authentic Japanese sakes. Then we headed inside for the hot pot experience. We sampled four different broths--Kombu, Tonkotsu, Spicy Miso, and Sukiyaki--before cooking premium beef and fresh seafood right at our table. The Royal Seafood Set featured shrimp, Atlantic salmon, fresh scallops, fish balls, and the chef's curated seafood selection, while the Royal Beef Experience included ribeye, chuck roll, and beef belly. But the highlight for me was the Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu. It was beautifully marbled, incredibly tender, and practically melted in my mouth after just a few seconds in the broth. We wrapped up the meal with a refreshing Yuzu Pop Sparkler, creamy matcha ice cream, and rich matcha cheesecake.
