Hico, TX has a real treasure right here ya'll! Honey lavender latte (seasonal), ham and gruyere muffin, and molasses cookies won the day for me! My partner agreed that of the three items I purchased for him, if only permitted to order one item again, it would be the molasses cookie! Similar to my aunt and grandma's chewy molasses cookie recipe, I was instantly transported to nostalgialand - grandma's kitchen or a ramshackle old cottage we used to reunion at--surrounded by relatives. Every bite filling me with goodness, warmth, and love! This is a spot I would frequent were I local to Hico--proudly sharing this beauty and its offerings with guests and purchasing goodies for office/special gatherings. The staff mentioned to us the former building/house was being renovated to become an AirBnB or something. The woman who took our order was very kind and informative, as mentioned previously. I ordered an "Iced Latte with White Chocolate" and ordered the "Breakfast Burrito," which contained sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The latte was good, creamy and sweet with the WC flavoring. The burrito was also good, not amazing, but good! I should have ordered 2 of them, it wasn't too big, so keep that in mind. The cheese was melted inside and the sausage was super flavorful. There was a section of my burrito in which the sausage was actually cold, which took me by surprise, but other than that it was good. Pricing was decent for what we ordered. We would come back if we were driving through again!!

The fries, as usual, are cold, stale, floppy, and taste like they've been cooked in old oil. The chicken strips are at least hot, but also taste like they were cooked in old oil. That has always been the taste from this DQ, but it's extra bad tonight. I don't either bother getting drinks from here because they always taste weird or are flat. We are huge DQ fans and eat there probably once a month, but we will drive to another town for it from now on. I know this one has to need a good deep cleaning of all of their equipment and employees who don't goof off constantly.
