Stopping through Columbus and was on the hunt for plant based food. So glad I found Portia's! I kept it light since I ate earlier. The spinach and artichoke dip was fantastic!! I was not expecting it to be as great as it was! It was creamy and full of flavor. I also really loved the dandy mushroom latte! That was a very pleasant surprise. I ordered a Super Power Wrap for carry-out which went through some rough and tumble in my bag since I was biking, but the food was absolutely delicious! I got the full-sized wrap ($12) made into a bowl, and the sauce was just right with the falafel, carrots, onions, and other greens. This is a very hard review for me to write. As a vegan I want to support our local businesses and healthy lifestyles. To explain my scoring: I base my scores on things that are important to me in a restaurant which are; food, quality, variety, price, service and atmosphere. Food is healthy and fresh, not astounding in flavor but delicious, portions could be larger for the price but price is still comparable to other places. Atmosphere: this is really tough and I have gone back and forth if I wanted to comment on certain things but unfortunately it has effected my experience as they have decided to post their views on the door which I feel is in poor taste being a restaurant that promotes healthy eating, I guess a food establishment is suddenly an expert in the healthcare area now as well, bothers me that people think they know more than medical experts, they say everyone is welcome, unless of course you have a disease that would put you at risk as the staff will not do anything to protect your health. I really did not want to comment on this as I did not want this to take away from the food and service but I don't think I would have been able to fully understand my experience. The staff on the surface are friendly and treat people well, I sat next to the kitchen though and was shocked and some of things they said about people...I will not post about that but if you want people to continue to support establishment, they said really support "all people " and not just people who look like them. read more

I am a part of a vegetarian group from work that goes out every other Wednesday. We have gone to 8 to 10 different restaurants in Columbus that offer vegan options as one of our members is vegan. This is our second time to Portia's and it is so good. I started the meal out with the red lentil soup it was very hot and I rated it a 8.75 out of 10. I then for the main course ordered a quesadilla with white rice, black beans, and spinach. It came with A side of salsa I ate half of it and got the other half to go. I rate the quesadilla a 7.66 out of 10. The first time I went I got the fudge for dessert and would rate that a nine out of 10. Both times the waitresses were amazing in Ashley and Julie tonight. I loved the food here! I was visiting my dad who lives in Columbus, him and his wife are non-vegan. Not the best place to take skeptical meat eaters and the decor feels pretty hippie. First, let me tell you, I'm not vegan. However, I love trying any kind of food. I've been a fan of Portia's since they opened years ago. Still today, when I fell I want something to make fell I'm eating super healthy or clean, I go there. A must do when arriving to this restaurant for me is getting a cup of lentils soup. I don't mind trying different dishes here but must of the time I go for the Super Power Wrap, waking for lettuce to be the wrap. Of course, I can forget to take a treat (dessert) before I leave. my wife got the Mediterranean plate. Let's say two people can eat from this plate. Portia's Cafe is a great place to check out in Clintonville. I've driven by this place so many times going to the vet, I just never could go in (I blame my cats). However, one of my friends moved back to town who eats more vegan- so perfect opportunity to go! The cafe has some parking out front & around the corner. Portia's cafe is attached to Portia's Next Door, so there is more seating. It took a few seconds to get seated, however took a little bit longer to be greeted by a server (perhaps bc I was waiting on someone, I'm not sure?) As someone who doesn't eat vegan regularly, I knew this would be a different experience based on what I ordered. The menu is massssiveee, somewhat overwhelming. However, its amazing to see how much diversity & options there are while still eating vegan. I opted to start off with one of their soups- I believe is was a daily feature, more of a squash soup- it was delicious! For lunch I decided to try a Pizzadilla with the creamy cashew sauce on the side. Overall it tasted okay, but would probably get something different next time I go back. read more

Updating my review to say that I'm giving it an extra star because the food is good for what you pay for. However, I just can't, in good conscious, frequent an establishment that doesn't abide by mask-wearing and allows meetups during COVID for homeopathic remedies. I get it, you don't really believe in vaccines, but actively setting up spaces for your customer and employees to risk illness right now and ignoring guidelines? It's so dangerous and irresponsible. Yesterday was our first time dining at Portia's Plant-based Cafe, in Clintonville. Neither my husband nor I are vegetarian, but we had a gift card given to us by a friend who highly recommended it - and it did not disappoint! My husband had the beet salad bowl and lentil soup, and I had the Pad Thai. We enjoyed the chips with guacamole as an appetizer, and each of us had a piece of their vegan cheesecake with coffee for dessert. Everything was delicious, and very filling! On my way to the Summer Shirt Shindig, I drove past Portia's and was happy I then knew where it was located. After the Shindig, I thought I would stop to see if they were still open. There were and I placed a carryout order. I got a large Red Lentil Soup, and the SuperPower Wrap. This can be served in a lettuce wrap or a bowl, or for $2 more, with a GF tortilla. I spent close to $20 including the tip and was on my way. The Wrap was...wow. So good. The tortilla was moist and the filling was so flavorful. I think it was the creamy cashew dressing that made it so unique. The lentil soup was not the best I've ever had, but I liked it. I ate half and the rest of it tasted really good in a chilly kitchen this morning. I want to go back and try more menu items. I am interested in the raw broccoli soup and the pad thai after reading other reviews. I think if I go to to eat in, I'll wait until off hours, since it is so small. read more

This is the type of restaurant you would find in Los Angeles but a bit unassuming I liked the homestyle feel to the whole place and a Vegan place that used eco friendly to go utensils was pretty cool as well. This one is going to be quick and straight to the point. I LOVE Portia's Cafe!!!! This place has literally won my heart. I went raw vegan for 14 days to really just give my body a complete reset. Of course initially I went to the grocery store and just was living off simple fruits and veggies, but that got boring and I was still very much committed to being raw. Well I found Portia's Cafe and I kid you not I ate the same exact order (the notuna salad, veggies w/ dill ranch, and a smoothie) for two days straight. And now once a week. I literally love this place, and as I've gone back to incorporating cooked vegan foods they are still my go to. Everything is light and fresh, the veggies are always fresh and delicious. The sauces you can tell are homemade. The curry vegetable soup is a banger I could live off of. They even have desserts and even those are raw, except for the ones that aren't. I was really excited to see another restaurant like this open. The menu is all vegan and raw foods. It's too costly for me to be a regular here. It's still worth visiting a few times to see all the cool things they can make from raw ingredients. There is so much on the menu I want to try, I would go broke if I had no self control. Among things I've already tried, I like several the most. The wraps I've had always have been excellent. So far I had the Notuna Wrap and the Super Power Wrap. Both were ordered on the tortilla, which is recommended over the lettuce wrap. The Notuna Wrap is made with a walnut pate. It comes with dressing made with cashews. The Super Power Wrap contains falafel. It was my favorite entree so far. The desserts here are great, too. I already have tried the fake cheesecake and the macaroons. The cookies are more budget friendly than the cheesecake. It's about $3 for cookies. The cheesecake is about $6 for a slice. Everything on the menu is really good. The prices aren't that bad because you get nothing that isn't kick ass so it's worth paying. There are always specials to look out for. Anything here is pretty good and healthy. On every Sunday morning they serve waffles with choice of filling and toppings. It's worth coming in to have some good food.This is a nice place if you need to celebrate yourself. read more

I am so sad to write this review, as a vegan who used to love Portias. The food is decent and as good as vegan gets in Columbus. But the atmosphere is deeply upsetting. For a long time portia had an anti-vax posted in her shop; she took it out about two years ago. My hope was that she realized that she was not a medical expert and should not be spreading misinformation. I was wrong. Hands down one of my all time favorite restaurants. The food is so good, fresh, all vegan, all gluten free and so many options for someone (like me) with food allergies. I had the Garden of Eden salad and their special potato salad and was in heaven. I had leftovers for days, the salad was so big! I brought my non-vegan sister to lunch and she got a Tofu wrap and raved about how good it was. Also a hearty amount of food. Easily two meals worth.
