I was so happy that he knew about this blight and how to apply what I'd bought at Portland Nursery as a cure. I trust Paithen's recommendations and knowledge. He also cut down and pulled out a relatively small espallied apple tree which was a difficult job, but he stuck with it! I found once it took me several calls to get a call back and get put on his schedule. I sensed they were very busy. Perhaps Spiral Tree needs to develop a more effective procedure for taking messages and returning calls. Paithen is a pleasure to work with as his quiet, knowledgeable way invokes confidence and trust.

Completely unprofessional, and with this impression they are giving at the inquiry stage it calls into great question how they would treat you if you actually hired them to do work. Probably equally bad at communication. Even if they did bother to eventually return calls or emails there would be no way they would ever be hired. The project being a tree removal, as well planting within a foot away (due to sprinklers only being able to reach so far). With that being said I had set a time and date with them to do the job. I ordered the tree for delivery the day prior, but once the day came for the job it was a no show. Concerned, I contacted NW Tree Work to see what was going on. Turns out they are short staff. I'm pretty reasonable so I go ahead and try to reschedule. This time, I'm told the job is more complex so a new date is set. Once the new date rolls around, again, no show. At this point I'm constantly contacting NW Tree Work to the point they are reading my messages but not replying. I have to call every single time to get a hold of someone, to which I'm told I will get a reply later in the day, and to which I don't. It takes me contacting each day to try and reschedule only to be told a date the project will get done by and for someone to not show up. Big waste of time. On top of that, when speaking to John he assured me the prior weekend he'd get the job done and not only that move the tree out of public view and water it so it's okay. Sadly, none of that ever happened or came into fruition, the trees flowers started dying off due to it not being properly taken care of which it would have been had it been planted as planned. Ultimately this lead to a lot of back and forth. Whether its short-staffed or health related issues, telling a customer a date you're going to get the job done and continuously bailing is not the right response to do. The kicker was John calling me later that day to tell me how to give more trust and understanding to professionals and how delays happen and it's all normal. How about building that trust with customers first by not bailing on them multiple times over and over again, then we can have that conversation. Aside from all the negatives, I can give them credit for at least reimbursing me on the tree (though they only would if they ended up taking it). I'm not typically one to leave reviews, but I think it's important for anybody else on this platform to be informed with what potential risks you have working with certain companies. Emotions aside, this is just my personal experience with the company and for that I would not recommend them moving forward.

Inexpensive Tree Care was our lowest bid with the promise to come sooner (within two weeks of our initial contact). They made two trips in one day; once to cut the tree down and another to grind our stump. The person who came out to grind our stump operated the machine with a remote control and took special care to avoid as much damage as was possible to the rest of the yard. It's a big machine and we had a narrow path but the damage was barely noticeable. We frankly expected it to be worse out of necessity but they took extreme care and did a very professional job. The bid was almost a quarter of the other bids I had (for grinding down two 5.6-6.0ft diameter tree stumps). They also answered all my questions and provided lots of information regarding the stump-grinding process. The team came out a week later, ground the stumps down about 95%, leaving me to clear out the mulch so they could see what was left to grind. Four days later they came back and finished the job in an hour. Perfect!!!!! And now I have 10 yards of mulch! After spending so much over the years with other arbor companies, and having had a virtually perfect experience with Inexpensive Tree Care, I will be using them for anything regarding any of my trees in the future.
