This…read moreyear, the large tall, laurel hedge and extensive tree pruning job was even better than last year. I'd give the work 6 stars if that was an option. The crew was "Team 3" which did such great work. Less than one day to complete with attention to every detail and excellent clean up. The price was very reasonable considering the amount of pruning, trimming and tree shaping they performed. I wish I knew about this company years ago.

My experience was mixed. I initially wanted a quote to remove a street tree that was damaging a…read morepublic sidewalk. We discussed the possible issues regarding city tree removal permitting, site specific challenges etc. and received a quote of $2700 to remove the tree and grind the stump. I filled out and returned the permit application and waited for city approval. Approx. 6 weeks later I got a call from Evergreen and was told the city denied my permit for a few reasons but that they would allow a structural pruning and gave me a quote for two trees witch was almost as much as the one tree removal. I went ahead and approved the work and gave a deposit. Later I sent an email to the city arborist asking for clarity on why the permit was denied and was told their office had no record of the denial yet. I was a bit annoyed that Evergreen made it sound like the denial was a done deal and scheduled the pruning before any official denial was recorded or given to me directly by the city. I would have waited until it was officially denied in writing before proceeding. If there was any chance that the permit had been approved I likely would have had to eat the pruning cost for the one tree AND paid the removal cost later.

They basically lied to me and talked me into a structural prune instead. The city did NOT deny my permit at that time but instead requested additional info from Evergreen which was never received . As of now the permit has expired. My guess is Evergreen did not want to take the time to satisfy the city request at the bid price and just wanted to move on. The whole purpose of wanting the tree removed was to facilitate a sidewalk repair so I have spent $2100 on pruning 2 trees and still have a busted sidewalk to deal with somehow. Thanks.

This helped us save money on the initial assessment and being able to clean up both sides at the same time was helpful for everyone. The 1st day I had an amazing team I called the climber and the carrier. Both of these gentlemen were not only highly efficient but totally thorough, knowledgeable and professional about everything they did. I actually have to admit my backyard is getting sunshine for the first time, and it's so uplifting. The second day I had the same climber, but a different carrier, and I was nervous that it would not be as good as the first day. Not only did they meet all my expectations, but at the end of the day, every carrier and climber were in the backyard, picking up the final branches, right down to the tiniest of twigs. It's almost embarrassing that my backyard has never looked cleaner than it does today. I had 3 estimates and cutting plans developed with 3 different companies before Joe Grab came into our lives. They were kind enough to review the prior plans and assured me that they too were going to follow similar plans of cutting hangers and deadwood, and thin out so that there are not problems in the future, for much less money. I can't even guesstimate how many pounds of material they took out of here, but I'm sure it ran in the thousands. They gave my little forest continuity and a very clean look, and they gave my house sunshine. We had a total 3 quotes, all from reputable companies. Interestingly, all the quotes were in the same ballpark. We chose to go with Jamal and his crew because Jamal said he would be onsite for the actual work and he would ensure that what we discussed was done. This was important because if you have an estimator that isn't onsite for the actual work, sometimes, what is promised and what is completed may not be the same. Jamal gave us a detailed quote and when he and his crew showed up for the work, Jamal definitely remembered all the details that we talked about. We also had the chance to interact and talk to the crew. Everyone was incredibly pleasant and friendly. They were all easygoing with us and with each other. It was really nice to see people working so well as a team. If you need tree trimming or related services, I would definitely give TreeTime/Jamal a call.

After checking with the neighbors to make sure they were ok with any trimming (not needed but I thought it was the polite thing to do) I did what anyone else would do and looked at Yelp reviews and chose two highly rated companies. Maybe a third quote would have been better but I am satisfied with the results. I had a representative of the first company I chose show up and he looked everything over, got information, and took that information back with him. Meanwhile I called Jamal at Treetime and he came out the next business day or so and gave me a quote instantly. After another day or two the first company emailed me their quote and it was nearly double Jamal's. Either company would probably have done fine. They both have stellar reviews. I am happy I chose Treetime. They were done in less than two hours, which is what Jamal thought it would take.

They were outstanding to work with from start to finish! Very accommodating, friendly, very reasonably priced, and they really went above and beyond the scope of work / my expectations. The tree was very close to the house, which had me concerned initially, but they did an excellent job of safely removing it. They also cleaned up all the debris very well afterward. They also arrived and were done during the scheduled window, which was great. Based on all of the other great reviews they have on Yelp, it looks they are consistent in their work. I still have not heard back from them. It would be much better to tell me they are not interested in doing this work than ghosting me. It's sad because of all the good reviews. Perhaps they are good for other kinds of work than what I need. Just know that if your project is not one that they feel comfortable with you may be ghosted too.
