On Yelp's recommendation, I came here earlier this year on a lunch break from work to get my passport photo renewed. I was served promptly, and the clerk took two great photos. I was in, photographed, paid and out within five minutes. Great quick service and I had no problems getting the photos accepted by the government for the passport. I was in and out in ten minutes, and the photographer graciously took two test shots - one as an initial look, and one after I'd fixed my hair since it looked weird in the first shot. Great place to get your passport photos taken! I was helped today by a nice, professional man who took about 6 photos and let me choose from the best. He swiftly printed them out and helped me choose the best shipping method. I had initially thought I'd need to shell out for FedEx, but he suggested USPS 2 day shipping w/ trackable service for a few bucks. I will be frank: My experience with copy-and-mailing centers is terrible. I expected to walk into this place and find that it was as confused and crazy-making as Kinko's, but on a lower budget. To my surprise, this place was awesome. I needed several different things: printing, copying, notarizing, mailing, and shipping. They took care of every one quickly and easily. The prices were reasonable, the space was well-maintained, and the staff were smart, friendly, effective and helpful. Highly recommended. For many years we have been sending our employees here for their Livescan and finger printing and have not had any issues. This summer one of our employees went in and was told she could not use her passport as a form of ID. We thought nothing of it until recently. We sent two employees to get their Livescan done. They both went at different times and they both reported that the person helping them was extremely rude to them. They both also did not have a passport and were told they could not use their passport as a form as ID. I looked up the requirements on the DOJ website and it states that passports are indeed a form of ID that can be accepted. I wanted to make sure so I called another local place and was told that in fact you can use a passport. The only difference is that the person would have to write down the information and with the CA ID all you have to do is swipe it to get the person's information. We will no longer send any of our employees to this business. Aside from not accepting the passport as ID the fact that they treated our employees so rudely is enough for us not to send anyone there. Oh and yes the two employees were people of color and the only one that did not have issues recently is our employee who is white. read more

I got some passport photos here the other day & was extremely impressed by the quick & attentive service. Also, as other reviewers have noted - they let you take your time to take a test photo, then take several shots for you to choose from. Unfortunately, you can only see them on the tiny screen of his camera, but I guess that's better than nothing. On the other hand, the quality of the photos was less than I had hoped for. The lighting set-up seemed good, but the color balance on the print-outs was a little off. The color of my clothing unduly affected the coloring of my cheeks in an unfortunate way. That said, it was super quick, they were nice & now that I know the place is there - I'll come back if I ever need copies or faxes. I will probably try another place next time I have to do a passport photo, but that won't be for another decade anyway. read more

took off work this morning to get documents notarized. the notary didn't completely fill out where they were supposed to on all the forms so now i have to leave work on the peninsula to go back so he can finish. super annoying. be extra sure to check all your forms to make sure they're filled out probably because they will not. read more

As other reviewers mentioned, it's definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place - basically just a long room with copiers, computers, etc. along each wall - but it suits the purpose just fine. The man who helped me get my passport photos was very kind and took about 4 shots, then another few when none of the first ones really turned out all that great. I love Foto Video! It's not a place you'd likely opt to walk into if you were cruising on foot. And it's certainly not a place whose products you want to spend time perusing. But they're so friendly and service is so great! I was fingerprinted there once a while back, then today I went in for passport photos. A shout out thank you to yelp for helping me navigate to the best place to get the dreaded passport photo. The quality was really good given the pro quality dig camera, not the mini point-n-shoot dig cameras I've seen used at other places. I looked for the saddle to sit in (nice touch) and got basically 8 pix for $16. He gave me a set of 4 for free for "waiting" as I got there as a door buster @ 9.00am and the store was still closed - he came within minutes and shared the story that he was late cuz he gave a former student-worker a ride to the airport. How is that for service and being a down right decent person? The philosophy was to take as many pix to be comfortable with the result - I felt kinda bad for having him snap so many, but he was so patient and helpful. I decided to go to these folks after having had a few terrible passport photographs taken elsewhere in San Francisco. I was greeted quite nicely and had many pictures taken just so we could have the perfect one. In the end, I received several very nice passport photographs and a JPEG on my thumb drive to boot. These guys were really good to me. I had them notarize an important document, which I then urgently needed to FedEx. I missed the pick up time (I should have known better) but they personally rushed off my envelope to have it couriered to the airport. By far the best passport photo experience I've ever had. The gentleman who helped me took around eight photos and let me select my favorite of the bunch (and told me that he'd be happy to take more if I didn't like any of the options). We came here for family passport photos. As expected, our toddler did not want her photo taken, but the man working here, who I presume to be the owner, was amazing & got the perfect shot of her. He was very kind and took many photos of all of us to ensure we each got a good one. A very clean, well organized, and friendly place.
