Moved out to downtown SD a few months ago, and while there's a Postal Annex pretty close, I prefer this location for a number of reasons. I ship out often and need accessible parking (not feasible in any downtown area). I also have always had such a great experience at this location. Ryan is always friendly and welcoming, remembers you with every visit, and provides you with a great value for all your shipping needs. It's definitely worth the trip for me and is conveniently located in a nice shopping center close to the freeway. All in all, an excellent choice for any shipping needs. I came here a few weeks ago with some questions about mailing my passport renewal forms. Omar was helpful and knowledgeable so I returned today with all the paperwork completed (I thought) in hand, unsure of what envelope I should use. Omar noticed that I hadn't signed and dated the form, or stapled my photo--both things that would have delayed renewal for many extra weeks. So he helped me out again, all while assisting others with mailing, notarizing, packaging, so on. This Postal Annex store is not the closest franchise to our home but I would happily return here as I'm confident that I'll get correct information for any mailing needs. Love this location for all my postal needs. They have FedEx, UPS and USPS pick up which is great for someone like me who does a lot of online business. You can also drop off all your prepaid packages as well as purchase labels for shipping. I've shipped over a hundred packages with them and all my packages have safely arrived at their destination with tracking receipts. Omar is great and is always working. He is professional, efficient and personable. He always has a great attitude. Love that they have cute stationary, small business gifts, great packing and shipping mailers and a variety of eclectic business supplies that give this location an adorable gift shop vibe. If I could give zero stars I would. Went into this store to send an envelope internationally (large envelope with cards inside) and they tried charging me $27, went to a different postal annex and it cost me $7.50 for the exact same method of shipping/carrier. I'm pretty sure that's against franchise rules. If you like being robbed then this is the place to go! read more

I requested regular mail for a business size envelope addressed to a business in San Diego zip code 92101. I was quoted $26.70 and was told it would not go out until Monday. I repeated I was requesting "regular mail". The female attendant told me that was regular mail! She said we charge a surcharge! I asked if the surcharge is &20.00. She said no, $6.70! I went to the post office and paid $2.68 to mail the package and was told for $6.70 I could have guaranteed Monday delivery! This is robbery!!!! read more

Came all the way to this location on a Saturday after I had already made an appointment to record my fingerprints for a background check the day before, on Friday, and even received a confirmation e-mail advising me which time I had to be there for my scheduled appointment. As I arrived and was attended to, the associate stated that there was nothing he could do as I was not on the system. He had also said the exact same thing happened to another man only ten minutes prior to my arrival. "This was due to a system glitch," he iterated. After multiple efforts to speak to someone at the store that has any idea where my package is, i'm now requesting to speak to the owner. Per the manager Chelsea or Kelsey, she needed 7 days to find look for the package because she was busy "running a retail store". She explained that the owner doesn't bother himself/herself with customers and she would get back to me when she has more time. We are just "customers" but this is a critically important issue for me and my family. The tracking shows that the package was labeled but never got scanned anywhere else. The tracking shows another store in transit, but that store said that it didn't come there and per their analysis it never left San Diego. I'm greatly concerned about the careless attitude that the manager has shown for this issue. FYI tracking numbers mean nothing to ups. If it was a true tracking number they would never lose critical passport information as they did with me. read more
