If I could seriously give this place 0 stars I would. I came in midday on a Wednesday and this location was absolutely empty. I met with an Indian gentleman at the counter and needed packages dropped off along with a receipt. I had 2 UPS packages and one USPS package. He proceeded to tell me he will not take USPS and to go across the street. I was completely confused as to why this was and I got a mumbled response I could not understand for my life. I usually go to a different PostalAnnex location and have never had this issue once and I have probably shipped hundreds of packages for customers. Whatever, I let that one go and let him take my UPS packages. He then proceeded to tell me he will not give me a tracking receipt. What in the world?!?! This place just seemed super shady and I decided to leave altogether since I was shipping expensive packages and feel that they were not safe at this location. I had to send money western union. I Googled my nearest western union location and found this location. I parked and see the sign on their door also offers western union. I go inside and see 2 western union stations. The Asian woman behind the desk sees me walk in and doesn't greet me. I grab a western union form to begin filling it out at the western union station inside. Then the woman yells across the store at me stating they don't offer western union. No apology, just yells at me in front of everyone saying that the western union is "closed". I ask her, "Oh, okay well at what time does it open?" She yells again "It CLOSED!". Turns out the husband and wife are both notary publics. However one out of town caused a backup of sorts. You pay the CA limit of $10, sign, fingerprint and stamped. Pretty easy. Had an Amazon package to return. This place was the closest spot to drop off. The woman said "it will be a dollar." When we handed her the package that was pre post stamped. We said no thanks, and when we came out, the UPS guy was right there. We gave the UPS guy our package just like that, no hassle, no ONE DOLLAR service fee. We mostly use another Postal Annex in Santa Clara and have NEVER had a problem like the one we encountered today. Avoid these people! From the reviews here it seems like they are trying to over charge for their services. One dollar for something that's suppose to be free? I would say that's over charging. read more

It's a standard PostalAnnex, though service is just meh. The shop is a bit disorganized too. And I've heard other customers complaining that the copy machines don't work. Mostly we come here to get public notaries done. This is the only one that's close by and always someone available. This doesn't mean they start the service right away, just that someone is usually around to perform public notary duties. (Other places like UPS Store, only certain days or hours available). Anyways, the service here is slow. The cost doubles that of other places. I only come here b/c it's convenient when we need something done fast. read more

I didn't ask anyone to help me carry my box to to help with the door but I guess that was too much to ask. Then trying to ship back an amazon box was like pulling teeth. I have been a customer here for years, mainly because it is near our home and convenient. Customer service has always been lacking, but I have continued to patronize the store because, despite the poor customer service, it was easy to do so. No more. We took in documents to be notarized last week. They were related to the sale of a property in Hawaii. The man helping us expressed what we thought were unfounded concerns about completing a State of Hawaii (non-notarized) form, but he eventually did so. Lo and behold, the notarized documents arrived in Hawaii and he forgot to sign one of the forms. This necessitated sending the escrow documents back from Hawaii, returning them to the Postal Annex notary to be signed, and then sending them back to Hawaii. Bottom line: Lots of anxiety and a close of escrow delayed by ten days. Most troubling, the PA notary (an owner) did not acknowledge that he had caused a pretty significant problem. Nor was there an apology. Lots of hubris and arrogance in play here. If you are looking for professionalism and concern to do the job, look elsewhere. read more

The woman here is incredibly rude. I have an Etsy shop and ship out packages constantly. The very first time I came to this location, I was helped by the Indian male employee. He was very nice and helpful. The second time I came, the Indian woman behind the counter made eye contact with me and walked away as I walked in the entrance. The male was helping another customer. As I waited, she kept turning and looking at me. Finally the male told her to help me. She heavily sighed and asked me what I wanted, as if my existence annoyed her. She tried to charge me $20-40 to ship a small package (an item from my shop that I've shipped before for $8) I told her I was charged $8 before and she rolled her eyes as the male employee agreed. The next and last visit, I walked in, hoping the male would be there. He was not there and the woman was sitting in the back watching tv. She turned and looked at me the turned back to continue watching tv. I rang the bell at the counter and she walked over, visibly annoyed. She tried to over charge me again, as I was shipping out the same item I've been shipping out the past two times I went to this location. After I told her I paid only $8 the last two times, she somehow settled on $9. I was running late for work at this point and didn't feel like arguing. As I was writing down the address, another customer walked in. The woman rudely asked the customer "what do you want?" The young girl asked if she can print a picture. The woman scoffed and said "from your phone? Connect to the wifi" then came back to me, while ignoring the young girl who was now asking for the wifi information. I told the woman the girl was asking for the wifi information. Again, visibly annoyed, she gave the wifi information to the young girl. It was time for me to pay to have my package shipped, I pulled out my card and was told "cash only. under $10, cash only" I told her I've used my card before. She refused to take my card. I asked if there was an ATM. She laughed and said "no, the ATM is at CVS. You can go there, or you can leave". Since I was already running late for work, I grabbed one of the small items they were selling and told her I'll add that to my purchase. I honestly don't understand how she is still working there based on all of these other reviews. I've only came to this one because it's close to my job and I can stop by on my way to work. I mailed a package this week via USPS and paid extra for tracking services. They took my phone number and email and said they would email me by the end of that day with tracking number. I never received email or call with the tracking number. I have been trying to call this Postal Annex for 2 days and can never get through - the recording says "Call cannot be completed as the party is busy". Very frustrating! read more

If I could give 1/2 star I would. First, the lady behind the counter neglected to assist me and another customer when we BOTH were having a difficult time with their old school copy machines. After I finally printed my (3) copies, she tried to rush me out, however, I told her I needed the copies fax. Mind you, she had already finished the other customer transaction. So, she tells me it will be $3. Then she says, no its $4. So, I give her a five dollar bill. She gives me change. I said you should be giving me a dollar. She says, no its $4.33. So, I was so irritated I told her to keep the change since she needs it sooooo badly. The lady at the counter did not have a name tag on, or I would be phoning the manager. I would give this establishment a ZERO if I was given the option. Horrible customer service, they don't greet you and are not helpful. The mark up is extremely high, most likely DOUBLE what UPS or FedEx charges if you ship with them directly. Do yourself a favor: go to the actual UPS or FedEx store. There are very cheap people running this store, they will charge you for everything, even a piece of tape. Also, make sure you bring cash, minimum purchase price for credit cards changes randomly with these guys, last time I was going to buy a $5.75 box and they refused to accept card because the minimum card purchase had magically rolled up to $6. I'm not visiting this location ever again, there are better shipping outlets out there. Drive 5 minutes more if you can, it will serve you better. read more

Service is good enough. Not great, not horrible. They are not very fast so not a good idea to go in if you are in a hurry. Biggest WARNING, they overcharge like crazy. I have been using them for several months up until recently. I had a feeling they were overcharging, but never looked too close at the costs and my receipt. BIG MISTAKE! I can relate to almost everyone of the other reviews, wish I had read them before going in there. I stopped in to mail one package and check the costs on shipping another larger package. I was quoted a price of $23 and change to FedEx the larger one. I needed to take it home to wrap it in shipping paper and decided when it was time to mail it to use another Postal Annex in Los Gatos. Turns out they only charged me $19 for the exact same service (same weight too). Most places show you the shipping options & costs on the screen. THIS PLACE DOES NOT, VERY SHADY. Came in for Livescan fingerprints for employment. No issues, was able to get in and out pretty quick. My employer informed me that they had not received the completed checks that were listed on the Livescan form. I called the Postal Annex for clarification and the woman who answered was extremely rude. She yelled and stated that it was not their fault and that I had to contact the Department of Justice, which I did. The CA Department of Justice informed me that the Livescan operator at the Postal Annex did not submit the request as stated on the form. I called the Annex back to give an update and none of my calls are going through. Now I have to pay for another Livescan service, but will DEFINITELY NOT be going back here. read more

Website states STORE can print labels. I let the employee know i needed the labels printed. She directed me to use her computer to print them myself. No mention from her that if i use her computer to print the labels, there is a charge. In addition to her failure to mention i would be charged for use of her computer, she also failed to disclose that she would be charging me for 2 short strips of tape. She didn't mention until I asked if labels printed okay (had no way of knowing bec printer is nowhere to be seen). She snapped at me that i need to give her money. I let her know that items were prepaid. She said " you used my computer". Then added " i will need to put tape". It is only $5, but it was the way she made the money that is not acceptable. The employee I encountered at today was extremely rude. She would not take a usps letter that already had a stamp on it. It was not an urgent letter and it did not need to go out immediately. Waited in line for passport photos, the Indian clerk took my photos then stopped my transaction to help the Indian customer behind me process mail, then chatted about where the customer lived and her family (10 minute wait) she then returned to help me, I needed to print 2 papers a well, they set me up on a computer in the store 2.50 per 10 minute use) the buffering took 5 minutes alone for me to pull up a form on line. I printed the paper which settings were not to scale, so the form printed at 50 percent scale, whatever I didn't want to spend another ten minutes pulling up the form so I decided to deal with it so I could just pay and leave. I go up to the counter and the male clerk is standing there at the pay counter disbuting charges on some bill he has just received. Yay for me another 5 minutes just standing at the counter listening to the clerk complain on the phone. The female clerk finally comes out, She rings me up, I pay, then she says oh I forgot to charge you for the printing, annoyed but whatever I pulled out my card, she says I need to pay with cash or check, I told her I did not bring either, she old me she will be charged a fee and she is not going to pay 1.50 fee for me to use my debit card to pay for a less than 10.00 charge. I reminded her that it was her mistake in the first place and that I will cancel my order then. She says fine take the paper. For passport services just go around the building to the post office way better. read more

The lady behind the counter has the WORST customer service that i've dealt with in my life. Every time I enter the store I am welcomed with a negative tone and bad attitude. I walked in the store wondering where she was, and as I was standing there(5 minutes later) I notice she's on the right side of the store. And I know she heard me enter the store so she could've greeted me but instead she chose to ignore me. All I needed was to drop something off and get the receipt. I told her that and she replied telling me to just leave it there though she knew I needed the receipt. I waited about another 5 minutes and she walked away saying, "Just take a picture of it!" in an extremely rude tone, thus leading me to this review. Sure they provide a convenient way to ship and mail packages but good grief would it be too much to ask for some decent and friendly customer service. They act as if it is a privilege to use their store. Secondly and more important they should be called out for the mark up they apply to all services. I shipped a FedEx letter next day standard and the fee was $58. Went to FedEx site to learn that actual cost was 17.95. Sheesh bit aggressive on the mark up IMO. read more

I think they are more interested in bilking every last dollar from you. I went in and shipped out UPS boxes. They didn't have the tracking number, and told me to call after 5 PM for it. Then they proceeded to charge much more for the same product I've shipped 10 times before from other locations. One of my boxes needed a bit of tape as it was not fully sealed. The person at the desk put tape on it, and I noticed on my receipt a $1.00 charge for "packing materials". $1.00 for 6 inches of tape of their roller, after paying $50 to ship a package. I have no complaints about the service. I just never realized how much I was paying for the convenience. I wanted to mail a small package to Rocklin, CA today. The cost came to $9.63. I don't carry cash and wanted to use my debit card. There is a $10 minimun to use a debit card. So, I walked next door to the U.S. Post Office. The charge was $5.00 to mail the same package. That is a huge difference. I will only use Postal Annex in the future for an extreme emergency. read more

I have used the Postal Annex many times in the past when I wanted to do a quick in and out postal transaction, and was always willing to pay a "little" more not to have to wait in line at the regular post office. However, last week, I was rushed and distracted when I went in and did not pay close attention to how much I was being charged - because besides mailing an envelope, I was also buying some resume paper. When I got home, I noticed I was charged $5.95 to mail a standard envelope. I went right back to question the charge - she said "sorry, there is nothing I can do, it has already gone out......." She said it very flippantly, and did not apologize that she overcharged me by more than $5.00. She did not offer any compensation. In the future, I will go next door to Robertsville Post Office and wait in line to receive fair and competent service. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I called in this morning asking if I could email a document to them for printing. The lady I spoke to gave me their email address and told me it was no problem. I came in about an hour later, and the person working there was very flustered and rude to all the customers in the store. She kept repeating things like, 'I don't have time for all of this" which came off as extremely unprofessional. When I finally got helped, I asked her to print out my document I had previously sent via email and she told me she "couldn't open up the store's email because she doesn't have the password." I reminded her that I just spoke to her an hour or two ago and she told me it was no problem. She looked annoyed and told me to pay to use their computer to print it out. I told her I wouldn't pay to use their computer just because she doesn't know her own store's email password. She reluctantly agreed to allow me to sign into my email for free on their computer so that I could open up the document. When she finally printed out my document, it came out almost entirely blank. I was extremely frustrated and asked her if there was anything at all she could do as I was on a very tight schedule. "Sorry, that's not my fault," she said. "You should have made time to print it out instead of waiting to the last minute." I had been in the store for 20 minutes at that point and called/emailed ahead hours before and she has the nerve to tell me it's my fault because I had "waited until the last minute"? Wow. read more
