I haven't been to this location in a long time and man, it is by far the best. Lots of parking within a very reasonable walking distance. The patio is almost completely covered and so big. The inside is super cute and very open with all the big windows. Surprisingly not too loud for location and size. There's a lot to love at this Downtown Gilbert staple spot! Their $25 board and bottle on Monday and Tuesdays and their $6 happy hours draw large crowd because they are truly amazing deals! I love that their bruschetta and wines are constantly on rotation and that they experiment with fun and unique flavors both savory and sweet. It's great for gluten free as they have gf bread options for most items. It is a small fee extra. We really enjoy their grilled cheese and tomato soup and bruchetta boards. Happy hour is great as well until 6 and they even have 1 really nice non alcoholic wine. The staff does rotate so it can be confusing who to reach out to if you need anything. I was trying to find good happy hour or late night deals to go out with a girlfriend with, and remember everyone telling me about the great deal for the bottle and board here. I looked on there website and saw there happy hour was until 5:00, but on Monday and Tuesday nights after 8:00 pm, you get a board of bruschetta (choice of 4) and a bottle of wine for $25! Definitely can't go wrong with that deal! I know Postino's is a very popular spot, so I made sure to get there at 7:15, just in case there was a wait, that we had plenty of time. I got really lucky and there were two open spots open at the bar! She did say to wait for a table, could have been anywhere from 30-45 minutes, which was expected. Since we had a little time to kill before 8:00 rolled around, we each ordered a cocktail. I found out from the bartender that there liquor selection is very very limited, so they can't just make anything you ask for. My friend ordered a dirty martini and I ordered one of there cocktails on the menu, the Tre Cucumber, which was very light, a little more sweet than I thought it would be, but still good. For the board and bottle, we got a bottle of sauvignon blanc, and we got salami and pesto, salmon and pesto, burrata and bacon, and the artichoke one. I really don't think any of the bruschetta options would be a bad choice! Anytime I have tried any here, they are great! I will say, I need to take more advantage of this great deal so I can try more of the other types of bruschetta. This place is always packed whenever I drive by, and for good reason. Great seating in a well design restaurant, outside patio option, as well, and big windows in the front to see out to downtown Gilbert. The service we had at the bar was a little slow, but I know it was a busy night. They have great snack options here, I personally wouldn't come for a full dinner meal, but any pre dinner or after dinner food, totally in for. Went to Postinos for lunch today. My husband and I both ordered a pick two, half sandwich and salad. I asked for ciabatta bread and my husband had focaccia. When the sandwiches came out, fairly quickly, both were on focaccia bread. I told them the mistake. No problem we will make you a new sandwich. Fifteen minutes later my husband is done with his lunch and I never got my sandwich. I'm beyond pissed and still hungry. Postinos didn't charge us for my husbands meal. This review is based on two separate visits to Postino in Gilbert - once on 6/17 (just the two of us) and again on 7/2 with friends - and unfortunately, the service was consistently disappointing both times. On our first visit, we were seated at a two-top near the bar, right in the path of the waitstaff heading to the kitchen. After receiving our waters, we were essentially ignored. We tried multiple times to get someone's attention (making eye contact, subtly raising a hand) only to be repeatedly passed by without acknowledgment. It became almost laughable. We finally had to physically reach out and stop a staff member to place our order. She was very kind, apologized, and explained that the staff shares tables (no assigned servers), and she assumed someone else had already taken care of us. She did offer a free dessert to make up for it, which we appreciated, and we chalked it up to a busy night (there were empty tables though...) or being short-staffed. Unfortunately, our second visit was worse. We met friends and were seated inside on the couch, which was comfortable, but that was the only highlight. Our initial server took our drink orders, and that was the last we saw of her. Someone else dropped off our drinks, and when we asked him if we could place a food order, he said he wasn't a server but would let someone know. Again, no one came. We waited nearly 20 minutes with empty glasses, hoping to order food, trying to catch the attention of several staff members walking by... nothing. When we finally flagged someone down, there was no acknowledgment of the delay, no apology, and definitely no sense of urgency. If anything, it felt like we were inconveniencing him- as if our request was an interruption rather than a basic part of his job. To add to the frustration, I had asked for limes with my drink when I ordered, again when it was delivered, and a third time when we finally placed our food order. I didn't get them until I was nearly done with my last glass from the pitcher. Only then did the server mention he'd forgotten and would bring them out- which felt like an afterthought at best. The group service model clearly isn't working here. With no one owning the customer experience, it results in everyone assuming "someone else" is handling it... in our case, no one was. We live within walking distance of downtown Gilbert and go out often, so we've been long-time fans of Postino, especially enjoying their Battle of the Bruschetta, which we've enjoyed! But with so many places closing along Gilbert Rd, our dining options are already getting limited. I really wanted to keep liking this location, but the service has declined so much that it's hard to justify coming back. Unless you have a lot of patience and don't mind being ignored, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. For now, we'll be skipping this spot. read more

I admit food wise I find something I like at places like Postino's and stick with it. My favs these past couple months, the heirloom tomato and mozzarella finished with basil is pretty darn good, as well as the chicken/steak skewers, the French onion soup, and the mixed greens salad with either a chicken skewer or smoked salmon protein topper reigns supreme. You can't go wrong with the Brussels sprouts salad either. What really shines is the service. Anyone walking by can help you out, and everyone is friendly. At a time when many restaurants are cutting hours and capacity because of lack of service staff, Postino's doesn't have that issue. They are obviously doing something right at the manager/supervisor level to keep front line staff happy!! The steak tasted old and bordered on rancid flavor. The ceasar salad was just whole romaine leaves. Not cut up just placed in the take out container. The cheese WAS NOT parmesan. It might have been grated pecorino/parmesan mix. I could not eat either one. We also ordered grilled cheese and tomato soup. There was way too much cheese for the thin sliced bread. A ladies night out at Postino's. We tried to beat the rush and arrived before 5 pm. A 1 hour + wait for an inside table and 15 minutes for an outside table. Ok 15 minutes is good. We were seated near some misters. We ordered some bruschetta boards, chicken noodle with pesto soup and a chicken skewer. The bruschetta boards are just gorgeous and there were quite a few choices. The food is excellent as was the company. Parking can be a challenge on a Friday and weekends. Just be patient and you will find a spot for parking. Free street and lot parking with WiFi. read more
