On our second visit to Postino Heights, we again had wonderful service. Our orders, drinks, food, etc. were taken swiftly. We sat on the nice patio. It was a hot and humid Houston evening but the fans made it comfortable to dine and enjoy. We ordered the herbed French fries which were crispy and delicious. The chicken and beef skewers were juicy, tender and well seasoned. Our bruschetta board was great - we ordered the smoked salmon and the bacon, arugula, tomato one. I enjoyed both of these. The Basque cheesecake doesn't have a crust; it's different from the cheesecake I'm used to. read more

We went for brunch and it's a really cute place inside and out. We opted for inside since it was a bit humid out. I had the focaccia stack and Bellini. The Bellini was tasty though light on the bubbly and too heavy on the juice. The focaccia stack was also very tasty and a great choice if you want a meal on the lighter side. I was expecting more of a stack with thicker or multiple slices of bread, so that was a little disappointing but it still satisfied the stomach. The service left a lot to be desired. They were busy but we felt forgotten about more than once and that shouldn't happen. read more

I love Postino. They have a great selection of wines, cheeses, and their boards are always a hit. The environment is super vibey and I love to go with friends. The Monday & Tuesday board and bottle deal for $25 is AWESOME. HOWEVER - they tried to scam me into a 60% tip. I couldn't believe it. I had seen this on social media before, but was shocked when it happened to me at a place I love so much! I had a $25 tab ($28 after tax), when the screen was presented to me.. there's 15%, 20%, and 25% then the "custom" tab. I always just leave it on the auto selected 20% option. Except... in the fine print below 20%, it said $15!!!! A 20% tip on a $28 tab should be $5.60. My waitress immediately said she was sorry and went to the back to void it and come back to me to repay. It's almost as if the waitstaff knows about this scam that management or corporate sets, so there was no "looking and calculating". It was an immediate "I'm sorry". I don't fault this waitress at all. She was a very sweet girl, she doesn't set these numbers and is put into an uncomfortable position there. Postino, you need to fix this tipping scam of yours. If you feel the need to have wine drunk people tip your staff 60%, maybe pay them more. Very disappointing. read more

We came in for a late dinner and had a pleasant experience! We shared a bruschetta board and the crispy cauliflower dish. For the bruschetta board, we opted for the elote, the salmon pesto, the fig prosciutto, and the boquerones (anchovies). I wouldn't recommend the boquerones as it was mostly tomatoes and the anchovies weren't well distributed and kept falling off, but the others were yummy. The crispy cauliflower wasn't very crispy, but it did have a nice flavor. It needed more of the romesco sauce to eat with the cauliflower. The service was fast in terms of taking our order and delivering the food but a little slow with water refills. The ambiance is dark and cozy, not too loud. They have an adjacent parking lot, so parking was easy. read more

We really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. We sat at the bar and were never once approached to ask if we wanted a drink or to take our order. Every time we wanted something, we had to flag someone down ourselves. What made it especially frustrating was that we weren't just stopping in for one drink--we ordered two rounds of drinks and three rounds of food. Meanwhile, several staff members were sitting around chatting with each other and visiting with family/friends at the bar, while barely acknowledging us. We're pretty easygoing and understand when a restaurant is busy, but that wasn't the issue here. The staff simply seemed more interested in socializing than taking care of customers. The food and drinks may have been good, but it's hard to enjoy an evening when you feel completely ignored. Unfortunately, based on the service alone, we wouldn't be inclined to come back. read more
