Pretty solid American bar food just south of downtown. Plenty of parking up front and they have interior and outside seating. The giant pretzel was alright, not worth the $14, but it's alright, 3/5. The nachos are pretty solid and their queso is good, 4/5. The Houston Cowboy burger was pretty solid and the patty is cooked well; a bummer that for $19, the burger doesn't come with a side, 4/5. Service is decent for a bar and slightly slow for a sit down restaurant. Overall, I couldn't taste the organic or the artisanal bit, but the food is solid for the cuisine.

this on the kirb location is nestled in the midtown neighborhood. and i really love this location because it's much smaller than some of the others. the bartenders and staff were welcoming and chill. it's very casual, and this is not somewhere i would take a date. this is a "grab a quick bite and watch the game" type of vibe. i could easily see myself watching the games here, because they have massive screens and decent food options. bonné santé

Great spot for quick bites, a meal, or to come for drinks with family and friends! Only minor complaint are the single ice cubes they use, which stick to the black "felt-like" napkin they are frozen in and have little black particles floating around in your drink. Once we figured out what those were, no complaints, and came back the next day!

This place is a sports bar that we love the food at, they have so many options that taste fresh and satisfy all of our friends. They have pretty classic drinks and options like beer buckets. We have come for some big events like the super bowl and to watch some different soccer games. It's usually packed but usually not too hard to find a spot if you get there a little early! Everyone usually has a lot of spirit and its been a fun atmosphere.

My experience at On The Kirb was great! It being my first time with my visiting friend who can only eat vegan and, gluten-free meals, which On The Kirb has a great variety to accommodate that need with that being said the taste of the food was amazing and I believe what makes a restaurant's environment welcoming, and comfortable is the service as well as a safe space. The ambiance in this place, definitely did that with the modern sleek style, clean space, and variety of sports screening. What really made our experience a lot more enjoyable was the service our waitress Hailey was great as well as the lovely Manager Paola. She was very attentive while ensuring an overall great experience. The team work and positivity from all staff definitely delivered. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to try out On The Kirb!

Went to watch a basketball game and have drinks. The ambiance and vibe are nice. There are plenty of TVs, parking and seating. The burger and drinks were good. I recommend getting the truffle fries.

I went to catch up with an old friend for lunch and he decided to go to On the Kirb. My favorite part about a restaurant here in Houston is when I know parking is easy peasy which it was! We made it during their happy hour which was the perfect way to start this outing. I started off with the Hibiscus margarita which was on their seasonal menu. It was so refreshing and delicious. I had been craving nachos for quite a bit so decided on the chicken nachos. The nacho portion was HUGE! I had to double check with my server to make sure it was the single portion. As easy as nachos are to make you would be surprised as to how easy it is to mess up. But not these!! The chips were fresh and tasty. The chicken was tasty, the guac and queso were chefs kisses. This was a guilty pleasure but tasted so so fresh and light!!!! I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

Loving the winter seasonal drinks Not the buttons was too cute I felt bad drinking. The bartender Chris was heavy handed with it too. The vibe is great not packed and great music.

First time at this location on SW Frwy . & Weslayan. Lots of sports screens and large dining area. Wes immediately greeted and there is open seating- we were served drinks, water with attentive staff. Ordered the hamburger and meat pizza . We really enjoyed both and shared the entrees. Burger was just as ordered, med-rare and pizza was wood fired in their oven in the back - delicious thin crust with yummy toppings. I usually don't like jalapeños on my pie but these were very mild . Will be returning again!

I've been once or twice years ago and recently…read moredecided to give it another try, hoping for a different experience, but unfortunately I still left unimpressed. To start out, the concept feels like a blend of accents from other popular bars in the area - the hammock chairs from Axelrad, the Adirondack chairs from Truck Yard, and the string light back patio from 8th Wonder. This blend makes it hard to give the bar a true identity. While they do have a large selection of beers on tap, their cocktail menu leaves me feeling lost. I appreciate the attempt to create unique flavor combinations but the options are just...confusing. For example, mezcal with citrus and prickly pear, or a highball with black currant, tequila and apricot. I'm holding on for dear life with all of these ingredients! Going along for the adventure, I tried their pickle cocktail that was on the menu and it was honestly, terrible. While they do have a happy hour that goes until 8pm, the service this last visit just wasn't the best. The server who helped me told me it was his second day and was clearly struggling to keep up with the cocktail combinations, referencing his phone many times while preparing the drink. I ended up not liking this drink and brought it back to the bar with just one sip gone and rather than offering to make me another drink, they kept it on my bill. Ok, whatever. That being said, just before this happened, the couple in front of me went to pay for their bill, prepared drinks in hand, at 8:02pm and the bartender refused to honor the happy hour prices, just two minutes past the official end time. With these two instances, it seems like the priority is maximizing every dollar of profit rather than investing in the customer experience. Given the number of other original concepts in the area, I would pass.

Despite being quite empty at that time, we had to be on a waitlist system for about 20 min. Maybe people signed up for that time slot, unclear ? The tables do move. We were originally assigned right under the TVs, which defeated our purpose of watching the game. We moved our table back, enough to not pinch our neck. It's a great location for game watching. TVs are set all throughout the bar. Bonus if there are two or more sport events. That evening, we could watch a WC game and a UFC fight at the same time. What surprised me was the quality of the food. The wings were excellent, the burger came out quickly as well. The fries could be crispier. The tots were good. Wish they offered sweet potato fries. Overall pricing is a bit on the higher side. So watch your alcohol consumption, lol! Now, it is downtown so parking isn't the best. Use a rideshare. I can be convinced to go back for their wings. I had a salmon Caesar, which was fine, but $31 plus a hidden 4% service charge for not a lot of lettuce, dressing, and four croutons. An app (chips and bland dip, skimped on the chips) and two entrees, a 16 oz beer and two mixed drinks was $145 with tax and tip. Agonizing to pay that much for a mid experience, especially with the other costs in time and money. Guaranteeing seats for the game without showing up ages in advance cost $40/seat and we didn't get the advertised VIP World Cup goody-bag package we were promised. Worst part of the night was getting out. 45 minutes stuck in the $10 Greenstreet parking garage because the scanners weren't working, but it's that or $40 of Ubers. So ~$250 for a less-than-mid evening that wasn't especially relaxing.
