The rhubarb was woody and the strawberries were mushy and a little tart the Angus beef Pot pie the beef was tough. The classic chicken and the chicken curry along with the handheld we're all delicious. I have absolutely no complaints. I recommend calling ahead and ordering. Make sure to specify whether or not you want the pies hot or cold because you can take them home and heat them up later. Instructions are on the label. The service was fast and friendly. I believe I spoke with the owner who was super sweet and made really good recommendations. There is plenty of seating available. The ambience is typical diner no booth style dining. Love hidden gems like this place, tucked away in a business/commercial area, its also a deli but u have only got pies from here. I have been about 4 times now and it's been great every time. Huge variety of pies for every flavor, I have always bought them cold to bake at home. Lots of veggies and spices in each pie, not just basic ingredients. This time the spicy chili beef was great. Also the creole gumbo, classic chicken pot pie will be in my rotation as well. The owner is there every time I have gone, a sweet lady, is always so kind and you can tell she is very proud of her pies, with good reason. Cute little pie shop and deli, hidden in an industrial building in Hayward, with plenty of savory options for lunch last week. Got the classic american chicken pot pie, and it was served hot (50 cents extra for heated pies vs frozen) and ready in less than 10 minutes. It was delicious, filled with large chunks of white meat free range chicken and potatoes, as well as bits of carrots and peas, the pie crust baked just right with a nice buttery flavor... a perfectly satisfying meal. A welcoming atmosphere where the staff felt like family. The space is bigger than it looks, including indoor seating and a fish tank with various fish I heard the worker, possibly the owner, telling stories about to a customer. There's even an additional room full of tables and seating and lovely decor and artwork on the walls. Hours are limited (only open till 3pm), but the steady flow of customers on a Thursday afternoon, many of which were seemingly regulars, tells me that this place must be doing something good that has people coming back for more. read more

I finally stopped by to try this pot pie shop near my workplace. I found them while searching for local eats and was really intrigued by all the different flavors they make into pot pies, since I've only really tried the classic chicken pot pie. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of most of the flavors but I ended up getting a ready to eat bavarian roast pork pot pie. The lady at the counter explained most are sold out right now due to timing of the farmers markers they sell at and the holidays. But you can always call in to check what flavors they have! The bavarian roast pork pot pie I got was 5" and was about $12 total. I believe they charge a small fee to heat up the pot pie for you, as you can buy frozen ones as well. The pot pie was nicely baked upon pulling it out of the bag (I ordered togo). The top was crispy and perfectly golden. After removing a part of the top, I was really surprised to find that the inside was loaded with toppings! Huge chunks of pork as well as carrots, peas, and potatoes. They really didn't skimp out even though the pot pie is only 5" and I'm super thrilled about that. I thought the pot pie had good flavor and the filling was cooked well. The only things I would say is it probably could have used more salt and the dough on the bottom and sides were a bit soggy. I think it's par for the course but I would have liked it a bit more crispy so that it could hold up to the filling better. The store has a seating area if you want to dine in and staff are super nice. They have a TV display showing what's available so you choose what you want. I opted for a couple of goulash pies bae wanted lamb shepherds and a couple of classic chicken pies The chicken classic was on point and the goulash was spicy and filling. Perfect amount of flakey crust top n bottom with a nice rim around the edges. The instructions are lacking for frozen pies as thawing them out in the fridge would take decades if ever. But I did the first part aka 2 minutes on high Then used sensor reheat button till they were brown bubbly goodness! Don't have sensor reheat I'd recommend 50% power for 5 minute increments till the center is hot using a knife to test. If that doesn't work bake the sucker in the oven. Either way, on a cold windy rainy day like this was, there isn't much that can substitute for a home made (by them not me) pot pie! read more

I have been meaning to check this place out for some time but always forget due to the limited hours that they have. However, I finally had the opportunity to give them a try. I ordered the classic chicken, curry chicken and the beef shepherd pie and they were all really good and phenomenal flavor. My only letdown is that the bottom part of the crust wasn't crispy but rather a little doughy which I understand can be a little hard to achieve when you have filling sitting on it and the pricing is a little steep per pie considering the size in my opinion but then again, I guess with inflation, everything is going expensive these days when you eat out. What a GEM! And a hidden one at that. Celebrated Thanksgiving a bit early with #ThankYouThursday and decided to check out pot pie paradise after seeing the great reviews on Yelp. I'm not normally a pot pie type of person, but with the cold weather, it was definitely the way to go. Pot Pie Paradise is nestled in an industrial part of Hayward so it's a bit of a drive through back roads to get there. They've got a decent parking lot and when I stopped by after lunch time, it wasn't too busy. They have a really helpful menu that shows all the options they have for pies, sandwiches, and other lunch choices. It's also updated to show which pies they're sold out of. I wanted to try the bulgogi beef but unfortunately they were sold out that day. Instead, I went for the Thai chicken curry. The Thai chicken curry pot pie ($10) had noodles, green beans, chicken, and carrots in it. It was delicious! I don't usually have noodles with thai chicken curry but it worked here. It's a pretty good portion for lunch and can maybe even be shared with two people. Though for me, I ended up just having the rest later for dinner. The service was great and the staff was very helpful. I loved reading the newspaper articles they have posted around the shop as I waited. I fell in love with their pot pies when we were going to Temescale Farmers Market in Oakland. The quality of the pot pies were amazing, and the different flavors were so fun. We moved to another city near Oakland but had not found them at the farmers market. I dragged out my old card that I took during earlier times, tracked down that they were in Hayward and made the drive - 45 minutes. Because it's that good! Turned from friends onto this fantastic business as well. Literally just got back from driving to Hayward to pickup our Christmas pot pies! Was happy to hear from the lovely owner that they are at Temescale Farmers market. Yum, we came here for Pi Day and were surprised to find so much variety. I'm a big fan of savory and they had so many non-traditional savory pies we couldn't try them all even though we bought six! A sweet lady owns this and she'll make your day better just with her kind and humble attitude, her effort and hard work apparent in each pot pie you buy. They taste "homemade" in a very good way without all the preservatives and unknowns from store bought frozen pot pies. The mini Pies are $8 and the larger ones are $32. We bought these minis: -2 Classic American Chicken: Kids loved it, would repeat, taste much better than any frozen grocery store one. -Country Style Pot Roast: Wife loved this one, nice big pieces of beef with potatoes, carrots, green beans, and onions. -Lamb Shepherd Pie: I loved this one, lamb was excellent and the potatoes came out perfect with a nice char layer on top. -Creole Gumbo: Would have just liked the gumbo by itself, it had a lot of Okra but it needed to be washed and dried more to minimize the slime. -Pork Chile Verde: Surprisingly spicy, only I could eat this and it was too hot for the kids or wife. For a long time I avoided this place after ordering a weak sandwich.. But obviously this place is known for their pies, so I finally gave-in to try a pice today because I wanted something comforting. Unfortunately their menu does not offer much of a description nor pictures of the food items... I wasn't enthused about ordering the Lemon Caper-Chicken but now I may order it again soon! It comes with rice, kale and zucchini! Idk the amount of calories but I am satisfied. I would be careful about any possible aluminum sticking to your pie on the sides of the crust... The selection consists of 32 pies ranging from traditional to international fillings. With 8 beef, 1 pork, 2 lamb, 2 seafood, 5 chicken, 1 turkey, 1 duck and 12 vegetarian, there is a choice for any taste. There are four dessert pies too. The pies are frozen and packaged and will be heated upon ordering. Their inventory is limited though, since I was going to order the artichoke chicken pesto and my friends ahead of me ordered the last two. So I went with the Traditional American Chicken pie. A worker brought out our pies, which were wrapped and placed in a takeout container. The pie had a nice golden brown flaky crust. The filling had a nice, creamy consistency with cube of chicken breast, peas, potatoes, onions and carrots. Very good flavor. Had a taste of my friend's artichoke chicken pesto. You place your order at the counter, pay, and then step back. When your order is ready, they call your name and bring it to you. The service was very good and efficient. No wasted movements. Our order taker was also kind enough to give me a paper cup when I asked if I could get a cup of ice. Chicken Pot Pie - 4 - very hot temperature wise and flavorful. I would prefer dark meat or mixed the menu says breast meat. That's a personal preference. If you're into chicken breast, this may be perfect for you! I timed my arrival for lunch, so I also ordered a beef bulgogi pot pie for lunch. It seemed like there wasn't enough sauce (see pics), but it was packed with flavor. So damn good! So damn good that as soon as I devoured the entire 5" pie in my car in the parking lot, I went back in to get a 10" beef bulgogi pie to share with my family. Alas, it is a newer variety, so she only had 5" pies available. No worries though I got me three small pies. I assume that the other pies are just as good. But, even if they aren't, I see my future self making a food-venture back to industrial Hayward for at least some beef bulgogi pot pies! read more

I use the chance to get to this place every time i am around here. It is so good. And i always make sure that i take frozen pies home for later! This time I had the spicy Thai chicken with a slightly peanut touch. Not to much, a nice amount of heat and man those lies come out hot from the oven! Be around Hayward? I very much enjoy chicken pot pies. Grew up on the Swanson's frozen version. Now we get the box of Marie Calendars from CostCo. So, when I searched Yelp for food while visiting the main office and home-made pot pies came up, I was super interested in trying it. But the menu had some unusual selections and I'm not very adventurous. There was a classic American chicken pot pie and that's what I ordered. Took awhile to heat up. So long in fact I ran out of time to eat it for lunch. But when I had it for dinner, I was disappointed. There was a spice in the pie I could not place. Almost like nutmeg. I didn't much care for it. Ate it all, but didn't care for that spice. There was lots of chicken and a beautiful and delicious crust. A few veggies. They also serve soup and sandwiches. Pepsi products in the dispenser and some bottled water, tea and maybe juice/Gatorade. Let me know how you like it! Try it! Maybe you will like that spice. read more

Finally made it out to the light industrial area of Hayward to check this joint out. Easy parking, good COVID-safe protocols (no indoor seating for now), friendly staff, and most of all, some really good pies! There was no line and we ordered two hot pies (classic chicken and pork verde), and one broccoli-cheddar pie (frozen) to go. Ready in five minutes. Our lunches were piping hot and deliciously prepared and my pork verde was spicy the the way I like it. At first I was concerned one pie might not be enough (I was *really* hungry), but they are rich and filling and I think the portion size was just right. We ate in the parking lot, in our vehicle, and we could see others, like us, had gone out of their way to get here and were doing the same thing. read more
