My family and I love getting pies from here! They have such a variety of savory pies with different meat options. And all of them are delicious! The portion sizes are pretty fair too, making it a great lunch option. Since it's so close to where we live, it is a regular lunch option for my family. And they're a family owned business -- always in support of that! My only qualm is that there aren't as many dessert pie options as there are savory options. Definitely a hidden gem in Hayward. Giant menu with an impressive vegan/vegetarian selection. The meat selection should definitely satisfy most people. So far tried vegan tikka masala. Quite literally a hidden gem. My coworkers and I discovered this place and we got 4 different pot pies: Bavarian Roast Pork, Classic American Chicken, Spicy Duck with Red Curry, and Creole Gumbo. The spicy duck and creole gumbo were standouts. The duck was tender and the red curry was creamy with a little spice. The creole gumbo literally tasted like gumbo but in a pot pie! I really really wanted to like this place. I gave them 3 stars based on not just the food but the overall experience. The atmosphere was great, they have this large fish tank and have some pretty cool fish I'm going to assume is salt water. I love places that make me feel like my kids are welcomed. Now to the pot pies. Gees, so stupid of me but I read everyone's most recent negative review everywhere I go before my first visit, It's kinda what I do so I know kind of the negative things to expect, and the review was right! If you want to heat up your pot pie it's an extra .50, not bad at all except for the fact that the way it's heated up is weird. Apart of the pot pie is steaming hot one sided cold and the middle was like room temp. In order to eat it you had to mix it all up and eat it luke warm. I had butternut squash and I just couldn't eat any more after a few bites. However this actually worked well for my kids because they were able to eat it right away. Overall I'd say get it frozen and heat it up yourself at home. Highly recommend and look forward to trying one of their sandwiches. These pies are amazing. Every time I come to the town I make sure I have at least one lunch at this little wonderful location. Not fancy but super tasty. Order and pay at the counter and get your number and they bring it to you. Second best pie I've ever had. I had Pot Pie Paradise bookmarked for quite a while and since they are only open on weekdays during lunch I never got the chance to make it out to Hayward. However, last week I happened to be in Hayward on a Friday afternoon so I decided it was time to get my hands on some vegan pot pies. Yelp said they closed at 3pm at it was about 2:45 pm, so I called and they said they are open for pick up only from 3 - 4pm. Pot Pie Paradise has over 30 different kinds of pot pies with about 6 vegan options. I selected 4 out of the 6 vegan options and went with the Mushroom Piccata, Sweet Potato Thai Curry, Javanese Tempeh and New Delhi Vegan. Some were in the refrigerator case while some were pulled from the freezer. The owner provided me with instructions on how to reheat. I asked if they were open on weekends and she mentioned that they visit the farmers markets on weekends in Danville, Castro Valley, and Temescal (Oakland). She was a nice lady and really reminded me of my step mom. The interior of the cafe was very cozy and you definitely feel like you are being served a home cooked meal. At home we reheated a few of the pies and our favorite was the Javanese Tempeh. The tempeh was cooked perfectly with eggplant and it was a bit spicy but so delicious! The crust was flaky and perfect. I'm really happy they offer vegan options and will try to look for them at the farmers markets on the weekends. P.S. These pot pies are not like your typical grocery store frozen chicken pot pies. Pot pie paradise has so many great varieties! There are more traditional ones like pot roast or chicken pot pies and there are also unique ones like spicy duck curry, gumbo, tahi curry and chicken tikka masala. There is also an extensive vegetarian and vegan selection. I've tried a lot of the pies and my favorites hvae been the thai chicken curry, the gumbo and the aussie steak. I love the flakey crust and loaded fillings. They use all fresh ingredients so it tastes way better than other pot pies that I've tried. Although they are hidden amongst warehouses, they used to get pretty busy during lunch time. They aren't open for dine-in becauase of COVID but you can call or email ahead to place your order so that it'll be ready for pick up.
