After spending over an hour trying (and failing) to find parking near the Queens Night Market…read morebecause of the Governors Ball, we gave up and decided to head to Tacos El Güero Sunnyside restaurant instead. It ended up being the best decision we made all night. Emily, our server, was nice, attentive, and took great care of us. The food was just as fresh and delicious as at the taco stand at the QNM. The purple corn tortillas were incredible, the chicken was hot, juicy, and flavorful, the steak was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the mushroom taco. The restaurant has a fun, authentic Mexican vibe with colorful décor, a great playlist that really adds to the atmosphere, and it's honestly a cute spot if you want to snap a few photos. Everything was made fresh, and we'll definitely be back!

I probably would have never known about Tacos El Guero if I hadn't spotted it on Google Maps. The…read morerestaurant itself feels very homey and welcoming. Im glad that I chose to stop by on a Sunday afternoon. I'm glad it wasn't super busy as there was only one waitstaff member handling everything. She was really nice, attentive, and knowledgeable about the entire menu. I went with a friend, and we started with the Ceviche de Cameron, which was fresh and flavorful. Since it was cold outside, I was craving something warm. I got the sopa de pollo, which was a large chicken soup. It hit the spot. I also tried one taco since that's what they specialize in here. It was so large and they gave it in a blue tortilla. I was so full by the end. I would definitely come back to try more from the menu.

My review from 2 years ago is clearly botched. I wrote it in such a hurry that I never got to truly…read moreelaborate why Sabor Ecuatoriano is low key one of the best food carts in the whole neighborhood. There was a time it wasn't alone in the Ecuadorian street food game, but somehow the rest of those carts have disappeared and Sabor Ecuatoriano has managed to remain. As a result, it is the only Ecuadorian street food option in western Queens outside of Jackson Heights. (#1) It seems crazy to think that I've enjoyed more of the food here than I have at the JH street carts. Their llapingachos (potato cakes?) are addicting and the hornado (roast pig) is usually the first thing that is gone from the cart. The sweet woman who runs the cart will often break off a piece of that crispy skin for every platter on top of some mote (hominy) rice, and veggies. I've managed to score a humita (choclo tamale?) every so often and love it as the perfect appetizer / snack. On even more rare occasions they have bolón de verde, which is like a mofongo-type ball that is very tasty. I haven't indulged much on the stew side, but I am pretty sure I've spotted seco (meat stew) and encebollado (fish stew). If I'm not mistaken they're still around from Thursday-Saturday. I wish they'd be present every day, but at least this gives us fans something to look forward to. The cart only accepts cash and most platters run one about $10. Throw in a coconut drink (agua de coco) and it'll be a wonderful meal. ______________ (#1) I've never wanted to be more wrong.

I…read morecalled again today 7/20/2026 and was told AGAIN, that pick up orders must be placed online. I was angry, actually very HANGRY (hungry + angry), I went and asked why and they said "customers place orders for pick up and don't show up, they even place orders for delivery to fake addresses". I didn't think much and went to wait in my car, when I ran back in they saved my phone number so now I can place orders via the phone. I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT! This amazing restaurant supports Palestine and condemns Israel, which is an amazing stance. Turns out dirty Zionists have been harassing this business for more than a decade! To the point where they couldn't take orders for pick up or delivery. Can you imagine being harassed like that? Please support this restaurant and its wonderful owners, this place has the best decor, that alone is worth the trip. FREE PALESTINE!
