I work for a family business down the street on Maryland Ave and I love going to Potato Valley for lunch. Although there may be a rush at different times the staff is for the most part very pleasant to me. Their potatoes are a must! Stumbled on this place as my wife and I were meandering the streets of Annapolis. Found the restaurant "Potatoe Valley" Loved the concept but we had already eaten. Bummer!! Came back on the following Sunday, CLOSED!!! damn. My mouth was hanging out for the place. Today we hit it right. Sunny day. Not busy. after lunch hour rush. Was amazing. Had the Vegetarian combo. Blew me away!!! Ate the skin and all. The flavours were amazing. I was stuffed til dinner. Still thinking of the food. Best potatoe I ever had. Wish I lived close enough to go more often. I have to give it one star as a Yelp requirement but id rather give them none. Extremely rude customer service. My daughter and I were in for lunch. We ordered the same exact thing and when my order came it was wrong. It had all these veggies on it. My daughter went up to them and said "I'm sorry, my mom ordered the same as mine" to which the owner said "can't she just take it off there?" To which I replied "can't you make my order right the first time?" Then the manager started talking about me to the customers behind me and then telling her associate what bothered her about me. My daughter and I said "uhm...we're right here!" To which she replied "oh I know!" I've been in the restaurant business many years in my life and I know you don't treat customers with that much disrespect. Won't be back if the Russian (owner non the less!) woman is working. Oh, and she said loud enough that she would have to talk about us in Russian. Nice. I've read several other reviews that also say how rude she is. Shame. I like places that focus on one thing and do it really well, and this place is no exception. There's something special about how they do their potatoes. They execute it in such a way that the skin is crunchy and the inside is fluffy~ I got mine with the chicken curry and enjoyed it. I was craving Japanese curry and figured this might work to tide me over. It's a very mild curry of the tropical coconutty variety and it's pretty darned tasty. Still, I fixated on how it would be amazing if there were a Japanese style curry option. Sometimes there just isn't getting around a craving. They also usually top their potatoes with these crispy Dutch onion thingies that are like the French's stuff, but with a deeper flavor profile. There's a lot of flavors to choose from. You might think there's only a number of ways to top a baked potato and then it dawns on you that, well no, actually a potato is so mild mannered that it's the perfect vehicle for all kinds of delicious flavors and then the genius of the people behind this place really sinks in. Speaking of the people here, the nice lady at the counter gives off this comfortable relative-like vibe. Anyway, it took me a while to decide on my topping because I am often indecisive, but if you're planning on going, it might not hurt either way to glance at the menu online. The way the place is set up looks nice, but the menu is harder to read from the store front. Just to warn you: As what appears to be the case with many food places in this side of Annapolis, there doesn't seem to be a lot of indoor seating. Still, if you're a fan of potatoes and you want an affordable meal in Annapolis, definitely check this place out. I'm going to make it a point to try all of the other flavors and look forward to going back. read more

I'm a potato addict and stop in when I can. They cook the potatos correctly and you can get your choice of toppings from all sorts of veggies, chicken, bacon, cheese, etc. Price is around $8-9 for a loaded potato. My only complaint would be the portion of chicken they provide is fairly small for the price. read more

Shockingly excellent potatoes. Everything works - the stringy cheese, the salad on the side. I had a blue cheese + broccoli potato; the blue cheese sauce was very thin, which worked with the rest of the dish. My wife and I had one of the strangest dining experiences we've ever had here. We went for lunch on a Saturday. There was one couple In front of us when we arrived so we spent a minute looking at the menu. We then ordered two potatoes, and I asked the owner if they sold water. She said they had Fiji or tap water. I bent down to get a Fiji out of the mini fridge and saw there was also deer park water in the fridge so I asked if we could get those instead. She hesitated like she wanted to say no, and then said yes --but she clearly didn't want to sell us those waters. She then took my credit card and started on the order behind me. She gave me my card back and we had a seat. Ten to fifteen minutes later we still had not gotten our food, but noticed the people behind us had. My wife went up to the counter to check on things for us. The owner and her partner looked at her like they had no idea what she wanted (there were only 10 people in the place so it seemed odd that they wouldn't immediately realize she was waiting on her order). My wife then said we were waiting for our food and the woman said, "oh, what did you order?". She hadn't even received our ticket, and the owner, who was standing next to her, didn't say a thing. The owner and this woman couldn't have cared less that we were waiting for a long time and they lost our order - no apologies or acknowledgement. On top of that, my blue cheese and broccoli potato was drenched in sauced and I couldn't eat most of it. It seemed like a lot of people were happy with their food and the owner was friendly to many of them. But clearly I had ticked her off by asking to buy the cheaper water, and she punished us for it. Been going to Potato Valley for years now. Owners need an attitude adjustment if they wish to stay in business. Had to work on a Saturday so decided to get lunch from the café. The person in front of us took a very long time deciding. Then it was our turn and we had a question. We were responded to with "Oh Jesus Christ". Really? The assistant handed me our order, the owner took the bag, placed our additional order on top and handed it back. Once back at the office to eat, the order was entirely wrong. We called just to let them know; not asking for anything; just advising. We were met with you took the wrong bag and basically how much of an inconvenience it was to re-make the other order for the other people. It was reiterated that the bag was handed to us. She just kept projecting that it was our fault...no apologies whatsoever. We're not fans of going to a place to eat where you hope the people who provide you service (especially the owners) are in a good mood. If we really want to go into additional issues, they don't wear gloves while handling the food nor wear hair nets of any sort.....and have you seen them?! read more
