We got catering from Potbelly, and all the sandwiches were wrapped neatly and packed into the catering boxes well. I tried the ITALIAN sub that supposedly had four types of meats (salami, pepperoni, capicola, and mortadella) but I thought my sandwich had more bread than it had ingredients. Overall, pretty average Italian sub, nothing bad but nothing exceptional. The tomatoes in the sandwich got a bit soggy, but that's to be expected. For a more affordable catering chain, I'd choose Potbelly over other options like Panera. read more

Every time I have eaten at a Potbelly I have discovered something new and delicious. This one was even better than anticipated. I had a BBQ beef sandwich, potato chips (that seemed to be freshly made), and banana creme pie. The pie was premade and prepackaged, but still good (just not as excellent as the rest of the meal). They employees seemed annoyed that I had questions, and I feel like that's part of their job. The food was fantastic. I had the Wreck with everything but lettuce and oil. I ordered 8 sandwiches and 8 bags of chips from here for a work meeting and then I get notified 30 mins later that they cancelled my order due to not being able to fulfill it. I then called asking why she said I can't make 19 sandwiches, I told the lady if she actually read the order there were only 8 sandwiches and the rest were chips... she said well we have other orders and I can't get this ready for you so we cancelled it. Just completely unprofessional and a disgrace to the potbelly corporation. Didn't even meet the low bar of customer service expected from a fast food joint on a Sunday. Went in at noon and was the only one there, and ordered the new Chicken, Tomato, Mozz. It's one of those where all of the ingredients are listed on the poster, so figured it would be easy enough. Apparently not. After having to correct the first guy from putting the wrong type on, I thought the rest would've smooth sailing, especially since after not knowing what type of soup garden vegetable was, it moved on to the manager. In all fairness, that is pretty much the level of service expected, but still iffy. What caused me to download Yelp on my phone was the manager. She was actually very solid throughout, but rather than just saying they ran out of basil pesto, she proceeded to lie not once, but twice, claiming she put some on but that it was the last bit. I wanted to believe her, so I searched a bit excessively before writing this, but there was nothing there. It's 12pm on a Sunday at Potbelly. There's no reason to lie to a customer. I order ahead during lunch since it's pretty crazy wherever you go in this neck of the woods during lunch time. The entrance can get a bit confusing. Its right next to the chipotle. I decided to try out the new Pot Belly two times during their opening week. You think that the employees would be on their best behavior in trying to gain a good customer base. -The meat on my sandwich is 1/2 the amount of meat as Subway's up the hill -Could NOT find napkins. None were included in my 2-go bag. When I searched the condement counter for over 5 minutes trying to find a single napkin I finally asked where the napkins were. I was greated with one of the rudest remarks I have ever encountered. I repeat, "What are you talking about? There are napkins everywhere" I was then greated with a disgruntled employee shoving a plastic napkin box in my face that was hidden away on one of it's side counters... -They have no salt or pepper behind the counter. I am happy Potbelly showed up in the neighborhood. For a perfectly sized meal, it is $5.72 per Original sized sandwich + tax. I had only ever had Potbelly in an airport and I am positive Dutch Crunch was a bread option, so I was surprised (and sad) to find out the Rosslyn location only had white or wheat. I usually get my sandwiches double-toasted. I like my cheese melted and my sandwich toasty! There is also an online ordering option if you want to get your sandwich faster. I have never encountered a line at Potbelly so I would say you already get your sandwich pretty quickly. The store has awesome wall decor and employees who are friendly (but not particularly hard-working). I wish Potbelly had a loyalty rewards program because that would really keep me coming back. I know this restaurant is pretty new but the employees are not trained. I waited ten minutes for a sandwich and salad to be made because the girl didn't know how to put the salad together. There was a lot of people working but only one or two were making sandwiches. The food was average, the vegetables were some what fresh. The potbelly vinaigrette was weird but tasted ok so I hope I don't get sick. This place is near my work so I'll probably give it a couple more chances. I love Potbelly's! I'm so glad they finally opened one in Rosslyn. I came here their opening week. It was busy but they did a good job making sure people were in and out. The manager was out making sure everything was going smoothly. They had one staff member taking orders using a tablet in line to speed up the process so by the time I got to the counter, my sandwich was ready. They were fully staffed so everything was quick, efficient and under control. The staff was also very friendly. They also had a live band. I got my usual wreck sandwich with potato salad. Update: Seems to have improved a lot. Love the energy of some of the staff. Previous: Always had a good experience until recent visits--I understand it happens sometimes, but it has been consistently disappointing. The common factor is one employee. She can be identified by a permanent scowl and stout build. Most recent experiences: gave me the wrong size sandwich, still paid the price for a bigger one because I couldn't see behind the counter and found out later; next time I started to be more observant, and she forgot a topping, so I reminded her again in a very plain non-annoyvoice "tomatoes please", and she gave me a short annoyed response basically saying that I didn't tell her everything (I always order the same thing so I did tell her) and then tossed my sandwich on the counter. read more

Potbellys is a good lunch option if you want a quality sandwich at a reasonably cheap price. I always enjoy getting the tuna on multigrain bread. I went to Potbelly for lunch after the main rush - post 1 PM. I'd been to a different one once before, so while glad a new place was open in Rosslyn, I wasn't quite familiar. Walking in, the noise is overwhelming. Because there are plenty of people sitting down and chatting, the addition of loud music, plus people trying to shout orders over a ridiculously tall counter top was too much. They had a separate woman standing taking orders on a tablet-like device. Only things asked were what you wanted and if you wanted mushroom/bacon. I ordered a T-K-Y. She asked if Swiss was OK; I said yes, not realizing I had a choice. After she took my order, I looked around to see where the list of cheese options was and I couldn't find it at all. So I guess Swiss is my only option? By the time I actually rounded the corner to put the add-ons, my sandwich had gone cold. I think it took a full ten minutes between A & B. I don't understand why you would take the beginning order, toast it, and then have no relationship between the order placed and the person standing in line (i.e., no order number, no name taken). No employee knew who the T-K-Y belonged to. It was toasted and then sat there as I waited for five people ahead of me to put toppings on. The counter is so high (sneeze guard I guess) that shorter people have an extremely hard time being heard over the noise of music and chatter. My friend was ahead of me in line. One of the employees asked if he had been helped yet. He said yes (someone was making his toasted PB&J at the back - by the way, also not on the menu and had a terrible PBJ to bread ratio & lopsided PB to J ratio). What did that employee do next? Stand at the back of the counter. Didn't ask me if I had been helped. Stood and talked to someone. I saw four people standing around doing nothing. I understand that people have their stations but in the meantime my sandwich is cold. And seeing employees standing around talking does not improve my perception / experience in the least. When I was finally able to put toppings on and the woman found my sandwich (because it had been sitting idly somewhere apparently because they couldn't find the customer, being that I was so far back in line), I ordered mayo, mustard, lett/tom/pickles, add avocado. She asked "So you want everything?" I said no and repeated my order. To no surprise, as I've mentioned the noise volume, she missed two of the things I asked for - there was no mustard and no pickles. I also had a piece of what was possibly bacon & the taste of hot peppers in two different bites. While she was putting my sandwich together, I saw an employee stirring what looked like mac n cheese, so I asked. She confirmed & also let me know that she'd tried it and it was really good (sorta an upsell, good for that). However, the mac n cheese is *not* on the menu, again. I would have ordered it if I knew. I then waited to pay (not sure how there is *so much* waiting) until one of the four standing employees noticed and came over to take me on a register. The sandwich was generally fine, but it was cold and missing ingredients. If I do go back, it definitely won't be for lunch. I know they've only been open a few weeks, but I expect some learning to have happened here. I even saw a manager behind the counter during this process. On another note, the chips display I think is common to their restaurants (again, only been in one prior) but was super inconvenient for refilling. I didn't get chips because it was pretty much empty and of course there was no posting (again) of their offerings. While I was in the line, an employee came out to try to restock the chips but had to dodge around customers' bodies, which was just awkward. I give three stars because they're new. I'll come back again in a few a weeks and will expect better service. read more

If you've been to Potbelly you know the drill, and this one delivers the goods. If you haven't, here's some knowledge about why it's a great lunch spot: 1. It's quick. Even with at least 20 people in front of us, we got in and out in 10 minutes. Not bad. 2. It's the right size. Most lunch spots will run you ~$8-10 for an entree, and you'll end up feeling gross afterward because it's more food than you need. If you get a regular sub here it's a plenty of food for most people, and can typically run less than $6. 3. It's simple and nothing sucks. The menu and ordering process is straightforward. All their sandwiches are solid and you can customize them with a bunch of stuff to spice it up (gotta get hot peppers!). Particularly recommend the Wreck and the Chicken Salad. Also found the staff to all be courteous even though it was busy. You're likely not going to be blown away, but a visit here make a quick, cheap, tasty lunch easy. And that's pretty sweet. read more

Ordered from the APP for the first time and they charged twice and the order was wrong. It took a lot of back and forth to get it fixed. The manager was nice and accommodating but it's always been an issue when I go in there. Most notably, if the manager is not on duty, it's not a very friendly atmosphere. There have been plenty of times that I'm not greeted and I'll be the only one there and they won't even ask for my order and once they do, no smiles, no engaging, nada. Lack of Customer service will break this place- learn it so you guys don't reach the same fate of going out of business. There are too many worthy joints around the area. Was in Arlington for a class at Graham Webb academy. Walked here for lunch because I was not interested in McDonald's or Chipotle (since that was all that was around). We walk into the shop about 12:30pm not One customer was inside. I go to order my sandwich, the man at the counter was disheveled and told me I needed to go to the other end. I proceed to walk to the other end of end of the counter, where I'm blankly stared at by another employee. Clearly this was our first time here, as we are from Maryland. I proceed to order a chicken salad SANDWICH, when the man behind the counter started making a salad. Long story short, this place is weird inside and horrific customer service. I have been to many potbelly's and have always had a good experience. I recently ordered a regular wreck ahead of time for pick up at the rosslyn location. My order wasn't ready until 15 minutes after the scheduled time and the sandwich was horrible. Didn't have all the toppings I asked for, the bread was soggy but there wasn't even mayo on it like I had asked. It was super messy and just overall a huge disappointment.
