Went out to celebrate my daughter's 27th birthday. We were immediately seated in a beautiful comfy booth and greeted by a friendly waitress. The restaurant is beautiful with low lights and a clean modern look. We loved the tasty cocktail and mocktail and the food was so tasty too. Roasted Brussels were charred and crispy, mashed potatoes so creamy and buttery and my grain bowl was delicious with fresh greens, maple glazed nuts, dried fruit and goat cheese. The grain bowl had only a tiny bit of wild rice and quinoa so I would call it a green salad more than a grain bowl but it tasted absolutely delicious. My daughter ordered mushroom wild rice soup which was creamy and tasty but was surprised to also find chicken in the soup that she wasn't expecting. Our waitress brought a creme brulee as a comped bday treat and it was delicious. Overall would recommend and would go again.

Bison burger and sweet potato fries. Delish!

Three buddies and I were in Downtown Minneapolis before the comedian Brad Williams' show. (Great show) We decided on Wood and Paddle before the show and it was a winner. winner. chicken dinner. A buddy of mine and I both ordered an Excelsior hazy IPA. delish...Our server was super nice and even took a picture of our group. I split a bison burger with sweet potato fries and a bison pizza with one of my friends. We ordered the fried sunnies for the table to start off with and my other friends got the chicken Caesar salad and wings and roasted brussel sprouts. The sunnies were awesome with a flavorful dipping sauce and the fishiness was just right. SCORE! The burger was juicy and had some kind of sweet chutney on it and the bun was perfect and the pizza had lots of meat and cheese on it, it was perfect. They give you a bunch of fries and they are not soggy like a lot of sweet potato fries are. I asked for a side of mustard and it became Heaven....So good! My friend's salad was huge and everyone loved their meal. The space was beautifully decorated with a large bar area and an open kitchen, where you could see the cooks applying their wares. Great food with lots of laughs and service equals five stars.

    Over done char fillet, $38.

Steak was over charred. Potatoes were flavorless. Cooks do not care here. Dont waste your money here.

Great spot to grab a bite before a Timberwolves game. It's a 4 minute walk from Target Center, and there is a parking ramp located at the bottom of the hotel this restaurant is in. Parking was surprisingly affordable -- we parked from 6-11pm and were only charged $6. Prices at Wood + Paddle are pretty reasonable for the area. Service was friendly and food came out fast. The chicken wild rice soup wasn't creamy and the broth tasted like half and half -- it could've used more seasoning. The fried sunnies were good and the sweet potato fries were thin and crispy. The dry rub wings were flavorful and on the saltier side, which I enjoyed. The flourless chocolate torte was rich and the berry sauce was fresh.

Ambiance was easy. I sat at the bar. The Brussels sprouts were amazing! I thought about them days later and my mouth is watering thinking about them now!

The cheese curds were delicious. No idea what the sauce was that came with it. The hot honey chicken sandwich was ok. HUGE AND JUICY! But it didn't have much flavor I would eat here again

I was in town for a conference and a group of 8 of us wanted to eat for a dinner outside of the conference. We were seated in a private room that had velvet drapes we could close for privacy and noise abatement. It was a perfectly sized room for our group. The restaurant was also lovely with an upscale decor. Our group shared some plates of cheese curds, which were delicious. We also had a variety of cocktails and mocktails, all of which were fresh tasting and creative. I had the hibiscus mocktail, which had a complex and not super sweet taste. It was delicious! We all ordered a variety of food, and everyone liked it all. Some ordered the duck stroganoff and said it was delicious with a complex taste. I ordered the pork chop, which was perfectly done. Others ordered the fish and said it too was delicious. For dessert, I split the creme brulee with a friend. It was the perfect size for sharing and had a wonderful, browned sugar glaze. The service was on point and a fine balance between taking care of us while also being invisible. If I ever find myself in Minneapolis again, I'll for sure come here again.

This place is great for a quick bite or hanging out for dinner. The vibe is laid back, the food is good with an affordable price point and the bartenders mix up some of the best Old Fashions around. There is a full bar in the rear with stools and table seating. The front dining room has a view of the open kitchen. Located in the Royal Sonesta Hotel, a great option for grub without leaving the premises.

Cute place and great service. The food was sadly just mediocre, nothing I would want to eat again. The mushroom stuffing was bland and the mushrooms weren't cooked enough. The slaw with the chicken sandwich had an odd flavor, and the cheese curds had no pull to them and a weird spice.

The customer service wasn't that great . The food wasn't that great they need to take the Hummus Plate off the menu. Skillet Cornbread & Stuffed Cremini Mushrooms was good could have been better if both were hot. Chicken wings were ok. I wouldn't go back .

Had lunch here and got the salmon salad and an iced tea. The salmon was a touch undercooked (rare instead of mid rare) but they corrected it so quickly and it came out perfect and hot so it was barely disruptive at all. It was tender and I would highly prefer under than over any day. Good amount of salad dressing and everything was fresh. I do wish they had more GF options but it was a little limited.

Stopped in for an early dinner before a show at the Orpheum. Service was good, good was great, and really enjoyed the vibe. Looking forward to visiting again.

In town on business, we came to Wood + Paddle after our initial restaurant was closed for a private event. We lucked-out, because WPE was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive, drinks were well made and the food was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to eat light, so I had garlic wings and an order of sunnies, along with my W+P Old Fashioned. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned and nice portions.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity. I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class! Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.

Upon entering we were greeted by a woman who was clearly wearing multiple hats as she seemed rushed, a bit off putting and quite frankly distracted. Menu is small but the items we ordered were all fabulous! Every single one! The collard green dip with cornbread pita chips was absolutely delicious - Think spinach artichoke dip but soul food! The salmon croquettes with lemon herb aioli and arugula salad that accompanied were fresh and light! The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. I want to return so bad for the food but it was clear this host, server, bartender and partial cook was pulled in too many directions and that severely compromised our service and gave us stand off energy as first time patrons. I looked it up and she is actually one of the owners. She came across as irritated especially once we didn't order any alcoholic drinks first and then very short and curt following. What took the cake was her telling us she was leaving for the day and needed to close our tab while we were eating. Didn't ask did we want to order anything else and there was another server taking her place and an empty restaurant! My partner had to put his sandwich down wipe his hands pull out his wallet while she stood there impatiently. Then proceeded to linger around hugging her regular bar patrons. It was clear this is a "regulars" spot and if you're not one you're rolling the dice on the service you may or may not get. We were patient and didn't complain because it was Juneteenth and our intention to support black restaurants all weekend. I have many previous years in the industry as a cook, host and GM and I was stunned to know that she was one of the owners when I looked it up. Had planned to return for live music but unfortunately the off putting energy and unwelcoming vibe may have squashed that possibility. I hope they improve service because the food is delicious and deserves attention from a larger and more sophisticated audience.

The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.
