My friend and I have been here a couple of times and were overcharged the last time...had to ask them to recharge my card. They tried making me pay almost $60+ for something that we usually pay $44 for. So yeah, keep in mind the vegan 1-item is $20 with tax. And the shrimp is absolutely disgusting. It doesn't even resemble food. I had the worst headache from it that went onto the next day, and I couldn't even finish it. It tastes like rubber, and it's the worst vegan food I've ever had. We will NOT be returning as the service is atrocious, and there are a million other Chinese food spots in the area. At first, I thought it was special because it is vegan, but it's not anymore. Beware of being ripped off.

I was craving Chinese food so decided to stop in. This spot is always busy and well maintained, with a very cool vibe. The staff is extremely pleasant, welcoming, and friendly. As for the food, it's very good, probably the best take out in Whittier. The Ingredients are fresh, tasty, and full of flavors. They give huge portions at very reasonable prices. You can't go wrong coming to Pots N Woks when craving authentic Chinese food.

So dare I say this is hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had? It's true! There is plenty of parking so no need to worry. It's located is a shopping center and it looks pretty freshly renovated. The service here is great, they are super friendly and welcoming. But let's talk about the food, the real deal! I got the combo C. I got the bbq pork, the mushroom chicken, beef broccoli, with half fried rice and chow mien. The food tasted so fresh and delicious, they pack your plate too! This was definitely my favorite Chinese food place of all time.

The Absolute best vegan Chinese food I've ever had!! Always incredible!! 10/10 every time!! Wish there was a location closer to me, but I'll make the drive for now. Must get the orange chicken!

Ask the Community - Pots n' Woks

Are there still low carb options available?

Hi do they still offer catering?

    I believe they do, yes.

Are you on any food delivery apps?

I've ordered Pots n' Woks via Uber Eats -but it will show as 'unavailable' when the restaurant is closed (Mon-Tues i think)

    Is anything gluten free?

No, they no longer have gluten free things on their menu.

What are the vegan proteins made of?

    Mostly soy I believe

Do you have non vegan meats? Like real meats as well as vegan?

Yes! Options for carnivores and vegans LOL

Are the vegan options available to order on the side as while?

Unfortunately not. Their vegan options are the main courses and they make em fresh to order so you gotta wait about 10-20 min (depending on how busy) for the food to be ready :) unless you call ahead. They do have vegan desserts on the side though.

Does anyone have an idea how much a platter of vegan Chao mein and vegan kung pao chicken for about 10 people cost?

All alternative meats cost more than actual meat... it's not far off from Panda Express where you get less food same + price and not vegan nor vegetarian. They give you a lot of food and in my experience vegan isn't cheap. I think their price…

    Any gluten-free options?

    Rice noodles

For the vegan plate is it possible to get half orange chicken and half beef broccoli?

There is no orange chicken or beef broccoli @ Hafez cafe! It's a Persian food not Asian!

What is the vegan walnut shrimp made of?

What is the vegan chicken made out of?

I believe soy and wheat gluten !

Does anyone know how to contact the owner? What's her name?

She is usually there. I would try calling her or showing up.

    Is all the menu vegan?

They have a separate menu of vegan yummyness. They make all the vegan entrees specially for you.

They also check in to make sure you're having a good time and enjoying your delicious meal. Now for the food: fresh, al dente and tasty. All adjectives you want running through your mind after the first bitesss. We ordered stuffed mushroom- hot and nicely seasoned. Mushrooms not overcooked and stuffing not overly cheesy. The shrimp linguine another hit with fresh tomatoes and jumbo shrimp with a nice snap. The light seasoning with lots of garlic was just perfect. We also ordered the beef short ribs. My friend said it melted on her mouth and the fresh mash potatoes- just right. Did I mention the portions were huge! Lots of goodies to take with us. To add to the dining experience we watched as patrons steadily came and went throughout the evening. You can tell this is a favorite for many. There were High-5s, handshakes and lots of "Welcome back friends!" Just an overall beautifully decked out neighborhood restaurant with so much heart and soul. I heard that the restaurant has been handed down from their grandparents... I'm sure they would be very proud. Highly recommend.

Probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had!…read more I'll be honest, when my husband suggested we drive 39 minutes for sandwiches, I was initially like... are we really doing this? But by the time we were leaving Uptown provisions, all I could think about was how incredibly worth the drive it was! From the moment we walked in, I loved the vibe. The space is so cool, and everyone was super welcoming. We watched a steady stream of locals come in to grab food they ordered online. You can also grab your drinks and chips from the fridge and shelves before ordering your sandwich. I ordered Tom's Way Egg Sandwich, and as someone who LOVES egg sandwiches and pastrami, I couldn't believe I'd never thought to put the two together! It comes with cheese, pickled onions, and this delicious orange sauce that isn't even mentioned in the description. The combination was SO good. I was honestly shocked by how much I loved it and would absolutely order it again and again. So glad I took a chance on something a little different! My husband got the Uptown and said the smoked turkey was so bomb. He doesn't usually even like avocado, but he was absolutely chomping away at this sandwich So I'd say that's a pretty solid endorsement! We also tried the Mela watermelon water, which was SO light, refreshing, and delicious. Definitely keeping an eye out for those cans now! Whittier is lucky to have this little gem. It seems like the locals know what's up because there was a constant flow of people coming in who clearly love this place. We got lucky with parking. Pastrami Reuben -ratio of pastrami to sauerkraut was perfection. Pickled onions tied everything together, soo good! Only down side to my sandwich was the pastrami was pretty fibrous/stringy but it was only a couple of pieces which didn't upset me too much. Tom's Way -pretty wet sandwich but everything paired well. Flavorful and filling but doesn't leave you feeling heavy. Spicy Gabagool -the sauce they use is chef's kiss. Not so much spicy but more of a season spiced. Really wanted to try their Lemon Crumb Bars but the girl ahead of me grabbed the last one. Just an excuse to come back for more sandwiches hahhaha. Opted for a Pecan Pie Bar instead; a bit more elevated than a regular pecan bar, crispy pecan added just the right amount of texture. Loved the caramel flavor but slightly too sweet for my liking.
