Heard of this place on NextDoor a while back, but finally went after my friend wanted to go, because he is a big fan of their vegan options. He said it was hard to get good vegan options in the area. I'm not vegan, so I ordered the chow mein, orange chicken, and cha siu, and I was very pleased with my food. The portions are very generous. The price is very reasonable for the economy and also for a small business. Meat was a little crispy and perfectly tender. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the following day. This review is for the last couple of visits here. It was great the first time. We've only discovered this place only two weeks ago and we've already been back 3 times. We always make the drive out here almost an hour every time as we're not from the area. Last week, there was long hair in our chowmein. We didn't see this until we ate it at home and it was buried underneath everything. Disgusting. Today, we ordered their vegan popcorn chicken and it was EXTREMELY SALTY. As in very, very salty. Like the chef went crazy and doused the entire batch with MSG. It was SO SALTY that it was inedible. Only ate a few pieces. We tried to like it but couldn't eat it. It raised my blood pressure immediately and had to stop eating. We returned it for them to remake it not salty. They were nice enough to do so. Had to wait an additional time for them to remake it. However, the second batch wasn't as bad as the first one, but was still on the salty side. The first two times we've been here it wasn't salty at all. I'm not sure who was cooking today, but they went crazy with the salt. The second batch was still bad, we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for a redo so we left. Needless to say it ruined the appetite and barely ate anything. Also, the vegan popcorn chicken wasn't consistent the last two times we ate here. Last time the texture was different and it looked different. It was either cooked differently or was a different brand that they used. This time, it was EXTREMELY SALTY. This was our third visit this month, which should tell you how much my partner and I have been enjoying Pots & Woks. Unfortunately, this time I have to deduct one star. We ordered the vegan popcorn chicken, but it was noticeably over-seasoned and far too salty. It wasn't just a matter of personal preference--it was difficult to enjoy. My partner has health reasons for limiting sodium, so we brought it back and politely asked if it could be remade. The staff was accommodating and prepared a fresh batch, which we appreciated. It took about 10-15 minutes, but even the second batch was still on the semi salty side. We understand that consistency in a busy kitchen can be challenging, but this seemed like an issue with the seasoning rather than an isolated mistake. As a business owner myself, I know constructive feedback helps businesses improve. My suggestion to the chef is simple: ease up on the salt and let the quality of the ingredients shine. Kind of overpriced for vegan Chinese takeout, especially when you can get a regular combo at other similar takeout spots with vegan options like braised tofu or spicy eggplant for the usual advertised prices. Seeing my total come to 19.25 before tax made my eyes bug out. That said, we'd made the trip specifically for this place, so I was to determined to find out what made a nearly $20 combo worth it. Shop was already filled with several customers when we walked in. I'll also give them points for the cuteness factor- the counter was stocked with adorable keychains and buttons for sale, and naturally, I caved. The serving size was the classic "stuffed to the high heavens" takeout box, with everything packed in to the brim, so the portion definitely felt beyond generous. It was enough for two meals. I ordered the vegan orange chicken and vegan Mongolian beef with half fried rice and half chow mein. The orange chicken was everything I wanted it to be- tangy, sweet, crispy, and absolutely delicious. I'd gladly order this one again. The Mongolian beef, on the other hand, was unexpectedly and intensely spicy. It caught me so off guard that I lost interest halfway through and ended up leaving most of it behind. Overall, I probably wouldn't make the drive just for another takeout box unless I was seriously craving that vegan orange chicken. This is our go to spot! We've been coming for so many years, when they became popular online we were happy for them- sad for us bc it was always Soooooooo busy! They got it down now though, they are always preparing fresh food. The wait is worth it. You can phone order ahead & they'll have it ready, be prepared to pay over the phone with that! Definitely worth the hype & we couldn't be happier for them & wish them tons of success. Black pepper chicken is soooo good. Orange chicken never disappoints. I have been a customer of this restaurant for years and, until this incident, had consistently positive experiences. For that reason, I feel it is important to provide a factual account of what occurred. I visited the restaurant to place several combo orders. During the ordering process, the employee assisting me asked if she could briefly step away to get some water. I agreed without issue. When she returned, her demeanor and tone came across as annoyed, frustrated, and dismissive. In an effort to make the ordering process easier, I suggested that we complete the orders one at a time so that it would not feel overwhelming. I also commented that the interaction was not great customer service. The employee immediately responded by stating that she suffers from panic attacks and suggested that my comment meant I was uncomfortable with her medical condition. I explained that I had no knowledge of her medical history and that my feedback was directed at the customer service experience, not at any personal or medical matter. The discussion then shifted away from the order itself. I was told that I was shaming and invalidating her medical condition. I reiterated that I was addressing the service I was receiving and had no way of knowing anything about her medical history before it was disclosed to me. During the conversation, the employee raised her voice. When I calmly asked that she not raise her voice at me since I was not raising mine at her, she responded, "I will raise my voice if I want." The employee also made comments suggesting that I believed I could speak to people a certain way because of "corporate" culture and stated that "here we are all equal." I had never mentioned my occupation, employer, position, or social status at any point during the interaction. These comments appeared unrelated to the issue being discussed and were based on assumptions rather than anything I had said. Despite the disagreement, I still intended to complete my purchase and continue placing my order. Instead, the employee turned to another staff member and stated, "Cancel their order. We're not serving them." I then asked to speak with management in hopes of resolving the matter professionally. The employee scoffed and informed me that she was management. Shortly thereafter, I was instructed to leave the establishment. My concern was never that an employee may have a medical condition. My concern was the manner in which a customer-service concern was handled. Customers cannot reasonably be expected to know an employee's medical history, and feedback about service should not automatically be treated as a personal attack. Professionalism requires addressing concerns respectfully, even when there is disagreement. What disappointed me most was not the disagreement itself, but the decision to escalate the situation, make personal assumptions, raise one's voice, refuse service, and ultimately remove a customer who was still attempting to complete a purchase. Given the many positive experiences I have had here over the years, this outcome was surprising and disappointing. My friend and I have been here a couple of times and were overcharged the last time...had to ask them to recharge my card. They tried making me pay almost $60+ for something that we usually pay $44 for. So yeah, keep in mind the vegan 1-item is $20 with tax. And the shrimp is absolutely disgusting. It doesn't even resemble food. I had the worst headache from it that went onto the next day, and I couldn't even finish it. It tastes like rubber, and it's the worst vegan food I've ever had. It was me and my GF's first time at Pots n Woks, and we really wish we'd have known about it years ago! Jerry helped us out. He was the nicest person I've ever met working at a restaurant. I didn't catch any other names, but everybody else was really awesome to us too. So anyway, we both got everything vegan: I got orange chicken and chow mein, and it was amazing! I didn't take a pic of mine because it looked so good, I couldn't wait any longer to eat it, lol. My GF took a pic of hers. She got broccoli beef, orange chicken, chow mein, and fried rice. She loved hers too! Let me tell you, the portions they give you will blow your mind! Each plate was under 15 bucks, but there's enough for at least 2 people in each container, maybe 3! I'm not joking! I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but it's a mountain of food! My GF got a boba Thai tea, and it was the biggest Thai tea I've ever seen! It must be about 30 ounces. I tried to give polite feedback about not being able to add sides online, but the woman at the counter was incredibly rude, cut me off, and told me to get back in line. If you can't even listen to your customer and tell them you can accommodate them when they're pointing out a problem, you're losing money and that's exactly what happened here. Way to dismiss me. I have it delivered most often but I have visited the restaurant it's a clean and neat well staffed with a huge menu that also caters to vegans the food is very good. I have eaten vegan fried rice stir fry vegan Mongolian beef, stir fried thick noodles and vegan orange chicken they all were soo good I didn't miss the meat. My daughter is vegan and orders food very often and now we don't have to make a long drive anymore since we started using Uber Eats delivery service. My favorite and consistent order is most often shrimp fried rice or combination fried rice, vegetable egg rolls and a passion fruit smoothie. Shrimp Fried Rice. Loaded with shrimp peas and rice seasoned well sometimes I tell them to leave out the peas and rice. 10/10 Combination Fried Rice This fried rice has shrimp and chicken and the tastiest bbq pork it's now my favorite I order this a lot. 20/10 Vegetable Egg Rolls Crispy and delicious I air fry to crisp them and eat them with sweet and sour sauce. 8/10 They always pack my order correctly sending condiments soy sauce, chili oil and siracha. After this place was recommended to me by a friend as one of the best vegan Chinese restaurants he's ever been to, hubby and I knew we had to make a visit. Upon driving up, I liked how a "vegan friendly" sign was clearly displayed in the front. Inside the restaurant, there is a cute mural on the wall as well as several tables available for people to sit at if they choose to eat at the restaurant. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and were impressed by the clearly labeled vegan menu options. Prices are listed for meat combo meals as well as vegan combo meals. Prior to ordering, hubby asked if any vegan options contains nuts and the employee went and confirmed that the vegan Kung pow chicken contains peanuts but all the other vegan options were available for him to eat. I decided to order a three item combo with half chow mein, half fried rice, vegan orange chicken, vegan BBQ pork, and vegan mushroom chicken, with a watermelon lemonade to drink. Hubby also chose the three item combo ordered half chow mein, half fried rice, vegan orange chicken, vegan Mongolian beef, and vegan BBQ pork, with a passion fruit lemonade to drink. We decided to split an order of veggie egg rolls and macaroni salad. Our lemonades were quickly prepared and our food followed soon after. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw our to go containers clearly labeled as vegan. The watermelon lemonade was the best lemonade I ever had in that it tasted like a liquid watermelon Jolly Rancher to me which was delicious. Hubby enjoyed his passion fruit lemonade and said it had a good balance of sweetness and tartness. The vegan BBQ pork was excellent, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and had the perfect amount of sauce of it. The vegan orange chicken was tender and sweet but not overly sweet and the vegan mushroom chicken was cooked well and had a good balance of vegan chicken, mushrooms and vegetables. The vegan Mongolian beef was well seasoned and gave hubby the exact amount of spice that he likes and paired well with the chow mien and fried rice. The egg rolls and macaroni salad were also very tasty as well. Although we began eating our meal at the restaurant, the food portions are so large that we decided to save some of it for a later meal. If I can give this place 0 stars I would. My husband order food and was given the wrong plate. He went back to return the plate and they refused to give him the plate he ordered and accused him of taking someone else's plate. The worker gave him his to go order how can he be accused of stealing someone else's order when it was physically given to him. My husband apologized and wanted his correct order and they said he would have to pay for a new order. My husband said that's not fair but agreed to pay for a new order. The manager then refused to serve him and had kicked him out. The manager even checked the cameras to see the worker giving my husband his order. Regardless the wrong order he was given had a side of honey walnut shrimp we had ordered so the worker had missed up the orders regardless. By the grace of God and good karma as my husband was leaving another customer offered to buy him a new plate. This goes to show you how the manager was in the wrong. I was excited to try this place out this last weekend because I had seen it on TikTok . Food is good, not to greasy, portions are very big that you can share. The food has an ok flavor, but lack customer service will keep me away. I didn't have a problem, but when I was sitting down eating, the lady up font the one that was taking orders had a disagreement with a customer, were they exchanged words and she started to cussed him out. After the customer left she kept ranting to the coworker. she didn't take into consideration that there was other customers in there. Okay, this review is a very long time coming and I'm finally getting around to it... So, I think we can all think of the local Chinese food spots and it's all pretty straightforward the same sort of taste and you know what to expect, and they all typically give insanely large amounts of food which is great for large families and leftover purposes, and this place is no different. HOWEVER.....there is the wonderful option here to have any item on the menu as a vegan option and it is straight up DELICIOUS! It is the most convenient thing ever now that so many people are going the meat-free route. You really can't tell the difference between the two types and for just a bit more of a price increase with each item, you really can't go wrong. I know that they do offer different types of drinks that are listed on the wall and though I have never had any personally, my girlfriend has and she really liked it. There are cans of coconut water and soda as other options, as well as iced coffees. There are other Chinese food restaurants in the area and to me there is just something off-tasting about it compared to the freshness and full-flavorings available here at Pots n' Woks. The parking lot is huge, so you won't ever have a problem getting a spot to park and same with the actual lobby of the restaurant. It is large, open, clean, and has the coolest displays and artwork on each wall. The food is constantly being replenished with fresh servings because the food here MOVES when people line up and start piling it up! The people behind the register are always so kind and warm when you approach and very helpful when you have any questions for them and at handoff. Honestly, this is my favorite Chinese food place around and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Do yourself a favor and run, don't walk!! Get over here and enjoy some amazing food. We had a concerning experience here related to food allergy safety and customer service. I have a ginger allergy and explained that I had eaten here recently with no issue, but was told the restaurant is now using a new seasoning. Because of that change, I asked for the brand of the seasoning so I could contact the manufacturer to clarify the ingredients, since "ginger" was not listed but "other" was. This was a reasonable request for allergen safety. I also asked if any items could be prepared without the seasoning or without ginger so I could safely eat. The cashier refused to provide the brand, refused to clarify ingredients, and refused to suggest or accommodate any alternatives. Instead of clear, professional communication or referral to a manager, the situation was met with defensiveness and unnecessary theatrics. Her responses were inconsistent and vague, including stating "we have it in everything" without confirming ingredients, which does not provide meaningful allergen guidance. When my boyfriend calmly tried to help clarify that we were only asking about safe alternatives, he was dismissed and told the conversation was "only between" her and me, which shut down communication instead of addressing the allergy concern. The interaction escalated further, with comments about us "ruining her day," speaking negatively in front of other customers, referencing cameras, and involving another employee who was not part of the issue. Requesting basic allergen information and reasonable accommodation should not result in hostility or theatrics. Because of how this was handled, we will not be returning. read more

The place was quick, staff is friendly, clean dining area with space to dine in and there's many good options to chose from. I opted for a bowl and got the chow mein with Honey shrimp, it was delicious up until about half way through when I spotted a hair sticking out of the shrimp breading. very disappointed & disgusted. I can't believe it's been 9 years since I first tried this place out! They've only gotten better. The staff is still fantastic. I'm so impressed with how they've evolved and added an entire plant based menu. Their vegan walnut shrimp is one of my favorites, but my go-to is vegan orange chicken and chow mein, with a side of wontons of course! Unfortunately , on my last visit at around 5:30 pm I was told vegan side were made to order and that they were done for the day. In addition , you can only get 1 vegan protein per $20 plate. Their combo option is no longer available. They,for some reason????, won't sell sides of the vegan protein. Instead , if you want to try another item you are forced to purchase a second $20 plate. My husband and I come here for Chinese food it's the best in the area. They give you really big portions and we always order one combo for the 2 of us and still a lot left over. Also the food is always fresh. The people that work there are pretty friendly.
