This place is one of a kind. Be forewarned that this location gets jam packed on the weekends and at times during the week so be prepared to wait quite a bit. When there is a line to get in make sure you write your name and how many are in your party on the chalkboard they have outside and the hostess will also confirm your party on their list they have noted as well. Worst experience ever! We decided to try this place after we saw the reviews and the 4 star rating. The line of people waiting to be seated made me believe we had chosen a good place to eat ..ohh boy was I wrong. First of all the place is very small however they had empty tables and people were waiting to be seated. Once we got seated the waitress was very unorganized and lacking customer service. She took out order wrong. When I said something about the incorrect items they seemed to be bothered. There was hair on our food...yes disgusting. SERVICE: the service here was above average. I came here for dinner and although it wasn't super busy, it did have more than a handful of customers. With that being said the waitress was extremely patient with us and would even answer our questions respectfully and without a rush. She gave us suggestions and was delightfully friendly. ATMOSPHERE: the place itself was quite hidden in the corner of a small plaza. The inside was quite small but it also had seating outside. The decor was authentic and beautiful, very clean and welcoming. FOOD: what can I say, but that I finished every last crumb on my plate. I got the chilaquiles with the chicken breast and chile verde, it also came with refried beans, freshly squeezed orange juice, cafe de olla, bolillo with butter and jam. I fell in love with the first bite, it was absolutely delicious, simply amazing. My mother in law got the same thing but her's came with carne asada. What the heck? So I stopped by on a Sunday, their website says they open at 8am, but they actually open at 830am. Ok, I asked the guy what their specialty was and he says pozole and chilaquiles, but everything is good. Great...I came back, when they opened and what a disappointment. I ordered both. First the pozole lacked flavor and had that watered down taste, you know like when you use up too much of the broth or you make it and you say, "oh crap it needs water" but by that time it's too late because the flavors have all settled and when you add water, the water does not grab the flavor, it simply takes the flavor aware from the hominy and the pork or chicken. Horrible. Not Jalisco style, I have a lot of family in Jalisco, one of my parents is from Jalisco and this by far is the worse pozole I have had in the States and no where near anything I have had in Jalisco. Now to the chilaquiles. Well, I will say, the beans earned them one star, but technically nothing special and decent, but I have had better in many places. I use to like this place, food used to be pretty good but omg, idk if they have a different chef? Or has no chef at all. Customer service was okay, until I expressed my concern on a hair being in my pozole and the server not doing anything except saying she would let the chef know. ****FLY in the Pozole****I've been to this place a couple of times mostly for the biscuits, coffee and because my mom likes the pozole. We order 3 pozoles and a order of biscuits. I started eating my pozole and about 2/3 in I stir the pozole and out came a floating FLY!!!!!!!. I felt nauseous and felt like throwing up. My wife stopped eating hers because she was disgusted. I don't know how my mom could continue eating hers. I told the server Ania that there's a fly in my pozole and her response was "se le acaba de caer". No B that thing has been swimming in my pozole for a while now. I never pause or left the table and if there was a fly around my plate I would have seen it since my face was in front of the bowl. I've never seen a fly kamikaze themselves into the food. I walked out to the car. My wife said she asked for the check and she charged everything except my pozole. My wife refused to pay for hers since she stopped eating hers because she was disgusted. The lady's response was "el tuyo si te lo puedo cobrar pero no lo voy acer".
