$30 dlls. For a chilaquiles plate? Idk

$30 dollars per a chilaquiles plate? This is one of the most expensive chilaquiles i eat ever.

Potzolcano is seriously so good! On the weekends it gets super busy with long waits, so weekdays are the best time to come if you want a more relaxed vibe. My husband and I always order the chilaquiles--they're amazing every single time--and their café de olla is the perfect cozy touch. The back patio is my favorite spot, surrounded by greenery and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel like you're enjoying a meal in a little hidden garden. It's the perfect place to enjoy authentic Mexican food.

If you want authentic and delicious posole, then this is the place for you. I grew up eating white posole and this reminds me of my childhood and did not dissapoint. I have also tried their chilaquiles con pollo, their mole enchiladas and my favorite, their cafe de olla which you will even want to order to go. The servers are so kind and welcoming. Do not pass on this place. They have a bathroom and small television and there is seating indoor and a small patio outside. Parking is a bit tough as it is a small shopping center. Even so, I have never had any issues. I highly recommend this place as it is one of my top posole places in orange county.

Very good Mexican Restaurant! Came here for the Chilaquiles for brunch and it comes with a coffee, fruit, and bread for free!! Additionally the plates are very big so one will fill you up! Server was very sweet as well.

Although the wait to be seated is always long, whether the place is full or not, the food is always great which is why we keep returning. This time we tried their Enchiladas del Patron and Enchiladas Queretanas. The Patron were amazing! Plate was left clean. The chipotle cream sauce is not too spicy or creamy, just right. The Queretanas have a great flavor but for my liking I thought they were too dry. If they were only dipped in salsa a bit more, they would have tasted like home enchiladas from Jalisco made from Guajillo chile.

Great food, great service, but the piece de rèsistance is the café de olla. It just hits the spot. They bring you a bolillo with the coffee.. dip your bread in it, OMG! LOVE IT!

They have a nice outside patio also.

Hello to all. Just stopped by this place with friend to have breakfast. Being that this is my first time, I'll be honest the service and ambience was great. The place inside is fully decorated nicely. After looking at the menu and prices. The entrees are a little pricey but you get your moneys worth especially if you order there café de olla. They'll keep bringing it if you ask. I had the Emfrijoladas con chorizo but you can order them with panela cheese or chicken if you don't want chorizo. It was delicious. They have an outside patio also.

Pozole de pollo. Notice the date 2013! Yup, we've been coming here for over 11 years. Wouldn't change a thing!

What time do you close during weekdays?

they close at 6pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They are closed on Wednesday. I don't know about Monday

    Do they have gift certificates?

Hi Cami! We do not have gift certificates

Do they have red pozole? Not a huge fan of green.

It's actually Jalisco style (white) Pozole "blanco" but they serve red salsa on the side - it's super delicious!

We had the chilaquiles verdes, menudo, side of fries, kids strawberry cheesecake combo. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. It was so good in fact that we decided to add a stuffed dulce de leche French toast that we saw on the menu earlier. I was blown away. I love that it was salty and just sweet enough. It was the best thing I tried. But the the best part of the whole experience was Alma, our server! We didn't even notice we came in hour before closing, and when we did we apologized and she was so kind and told us not to worry and to enjoy our food. She was the last server there and was juggling multiple tables but still managed to be extremely attentive to us. She is so kind and has a great personality. Thank you for everything, Alma! Also big shout out to the kitchen for not closing before the restaurant! They let us add our French toast about 20 mins before closing, which is really unheard of in the restaurant culture of "last calls" 30 minutes before. I loved this place!

Finally a couple weeks go by and we get there with the line not too busy so we wait for about 20 mins in line with only 5 people ahead of us which I felt was a bit crazy but we're already here. Finally we order and get a breakfast burrito and a torta to eat in totaling out to 35$ just between those two items, but hey if it's good who cares right. We notice that there is no assigned seating and we're told to grab a seat where ever we liked so we go to the only table available inside about 10 mins after sitting and waiting for our food one of the waiters comes up to us and tells us we can't sit at the table because it's meant for a bigger party and that there is a table all the way in the back next to the restrooms that we need to move to because they need to save this table in case a big party comes in. I told her that these were the only seats available when we got here and i'd have no problem moving if a bigger party came through however there wasn't anybody waiting in line or ordering so we were gonna continue to wait here. the waitress proceeded to tell me that she doesn't know how else to say this but we aren't allowed to sit there, and we just exchange awkward silence. she gave up after about a minute of telling us to go to the back of the restaurant. All this could be overlooked if the food was amazing so i was really hoping it would be good and then finally after about 16 mins of waiting and being told to move by staff the food comes out. the waiter drops my plate so that it clatters as it hits the table and the nail in the coffin is that the food was honestly borderline bad, burrito lacked seasoning but was smothered in salsa to attempt to hide its mediocrity, it came with two more salsas on the side and chips but the chips were cold and stale unsure if they just gave me old chips because they were upset with me not moving to the back for them or if their chips are always that stale and unsalted. won't be making a return save urself the money and go try any other Mexican place their food will be better and cheaper.

I came in with friends and ordered a pitcher along with several shots. The server, a young white male, brought the shots and only one cup of beer. I immediately told him I had ordered a pitcher, but he insisted I never said that -- even though I had already been charged. To avoid arguing, I told him to just bring a pitcher and charge me again respectfully. He refused and told me I would have to go back and wait in line if I wanted one. When I asked to speak with a manager, he said the manager was unavailable. We later noticed him walking around the patio taking pitcher requests from other customers and bringing them directly to their tables without sending them back in line. We politely asked again, and he said "okay," but repeatedly ignored us, walking past our table multiple times. When my friend followed up, he suddenly claimed he couldn't serve us and again told us to get back in line. There was no clear reason for the difference in treatment. Watching others get served while we were repeatedly refused, despite being respectful customers, made the situation feel discriminatory. As Latino customers in a predominantly Latino community, the behavior came across as biased and unacceptable. It's extremely disappointing because I've supported this place for nearly a decade and had never experienced anything like this before. Unfortunately, this interaction completely changed my view of this establishment. I would not recommend coming here if respectful and fair service matters to you.
