It's been a hassle trying to stop by because every time I'm near, I'm on a time crunch to get to Universal Studios lol. Thankfully, I had time before FanFest to wait in line and purchase a few of the Scooby Doo donut exclusives and Voodoo's signature treats. My favorite, hands down is the Portland Dream. It's a Bavarian crème filled donut with chocolate on top. It's perfection in every way, The Dirt was a close second. The chocolate, breading, and portions were excellent. The Scooby donuts were mid-tier but still solid. It's a bit hot-pink spooky inside and there's very limited seating (and space for that matter). I wouldn't suggest eating inside as there's only two small circular tables available. Merch is plentiful and good quality. The decor is very Louisiana-style with a mix of coffeehouse vibes. Staff were AMAZING, they went the extra mile to help me find my perfect donut. Overall, I'll be back. I stuffed my face with three large donuts, that's how much I enjoyed my time here. read more

I would give them 3.5 stars, but it's a fun shop, so I bumped up. You come to Voodoo for the fun donuts - yes they're pricey, but you know everything has a surcharge on the city walk and these donuts are over the top. The voodoo bar is filled with raspberry filling - just the bottom 2/3 is filled (like where the green swirl is), but it is super filled! I really liked the flavor. Solid chocolate bar overall. Know going in that this place is pricey and worth every penny. Sometimes there is a line, but it moves fast. The service is wonderful. They know about all they have. They even have vegan donuts, I did not try any so I can not offer my opinion. This one is right in Universal City and you can eat them outside, but we were finally leaving the area and took them home. My daughter said the cake donut with the chocolate icing was the best she ever had. How would I know she ate half and gave my husband the other half. Love voodoo donuts! They have a ton of vegan options that are indicated with a "V" on the menu. When I have been to a different location in the past I remember they had vegan and non-vegan versions of the same flavor and you had to specify, but now I believe they just offer one version of each flavor, many of which are vegan by default. I've heard of Voodoo Doughnut, but I don't think I've ever eaten at one before. Sad that I haven't tried until now, this place is pretty damn good. The dough is nicely sweet, airy with a good density to the breading. After frying, the edges became crispy, with a delightful and tasty chew. We started with the Diablos Rex, a very rich, chocolate donut with a pentagram design on top. It was soft, gooey, and the chunks of chocolate in the center made for an overall delicious treat. We liked it so much, we came back the next day for a box to take home to the family. Bacon Maple Bar - Pretty basic, but not a bad blend of salty and sweet flavors. Peanut Cake - An impressive layer of crumbled nuts across the top, good take on a classic. ODB - Oreo cookies and peanut butter? Yes, please! Little Pink - Strong strawberry flavor made my daughter very happy. So, very good donuts, and the cost isn't too prohibitive. After a fun-filled day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we passed by Voodoo Donuts on our way back to our car. We popped inside to check it out and ended up leaving with a box of fancy donuts. The shop has a LOT of pink decor, mixed with other vibrant colors everywhere you look. But the main draw here are the donuts, of course. Voodoo Donuts has SO many crazy elaborate donuts with just about anything you could want on a donut. Frosting, sprinkles, coconut, peanuts, peanut butter, bananas, cookies, candies, you name it, they got it. They even have one with cayenne pepper and a chili pepper on it. The staff was friendly and very efficient, the long line moved quickly, and we really enjoyed every one of our donuts over the next couple days. If you're looking for a sweet, post-universal studios snack, this spot is a solid choice. It was really slow on a Monday night and service was friendly and quick. They have over 30 donut options to choose from, all with eclectic flavors and toppings. I went with a classic pink sprinkle, called the Little Pink which is anything but small. The frosting had great flavor but the donut itself was a bit dry. Could've been due to the fact they were closing in about an hour. The prices are about what you would expect being located on City Walk, paid around $10 for 3 donuts. There were racks of different donuts just behind the counter. I think maybe donuts here maybe fresher than PDX. We got the bacon maple bar, maple bar, and glazed old fashioned. We like to check out their limited time ones and really the only time we buy anything just so we can try it! This is located in CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood by the Chocolate Emporium (old Hard Rock location). This place used to get super busy with lines out the door. I'm sure they still have that every now and then but the last few times we've visited, we walked right up to order which was great! I absolutely love their maple bacon which you can find at a bunch of doughnut shops nowadays but it's always a must for me. They also have monthly specials so be sure to ask when you visit! It's a strawberry shortcake one right now (July 2025). The size of the doughnuts are pretty big too so it honestly feels like you're getting your money's worth. Been here several times and I've experienced highs and lows at this location. Lows: some of the doughnuts are overly oily and I can taste the oil. What does "taste the oil" mean? For me, it means the oil [used for frying the doughnuts] is not fresh and/or clean; it leaves a funky taste that overpowers everything. 2nd: some of the doughnuts are so darn sweet. Yes, I'm aware that doughnuts are supposed to be sweet but some of the doughnuts crazy sweet. Highs: the Maple Bacon Bars are the best (a bit too sweet but still my favorite). The selection of doughnuts is pretty extensive and a plus if you're into trying new flavors and varieties. This location is very clean and organized. They have a decent selection of merch. They have a couple of tables/chairs inside the store. Staff has been very patient when purchasing doughnuts and attentive when boxing the doughnuts. My other favorite was one of the February flavors, Limoncello Bombolone They have a couple of specials throughout the week (go through Universal Studios page for list of specials) and they do offer annual pass discounts (universal studios AP). Just give me the basics because their dough is solid and always perfect. It's crispy on the outside while pillowy on the inside. However the specialty flavors are VERY sweet and a little overwhelming for my taste buds. Also the flavorings have a bit of a bitter artificial after taste. It's not bad, and most people probably won't mind it. But I prefer something make simple. If you're wondering where to park it's on the opposite end of CityWalk from the theme park. On my way to Universal Studios I was overcome with a violent donut craving which Voodoo doughnuts was thankfully prepared to fulfill. I used to go to the Portland locations when I was in college but hadn't been to the one here. The place is massive with the same hot pink quirky vibes of the original. There was no line as it was relatively early in the day. I already know I'm not into the fruit loop type ones so I got a chocolate donut and the hibiscus donut and split with a friend. I really like both a lot. The texture of the dough is so good, it's light without being insubstantial. Not dry. The glazes are the perfect level of sweet. So, Voodoo Doughnuts, a statue at Universal City Walk, originated in Portland, Oregon. Is a eclectic donut shop with creative donuts, a unique vibe and merch you can purchase. Staff is always friendly as well, and even though they're is generally a line that does it the door, especially on weekends, the line moves fairly quickly. Now, the donuts. They are known for their whimsical take on donuts and pairings of ingredients you won't find at your normal donut shop. Things like the Voodoo Doll, Churro cheesecake, Strawberry go tart, old dirt bastard, oh Captain, my captain topped with Captain Crunch cereal, etc. All very interesting and a fun take on their version of a donut. I would say one of the big downsides, for me, is that they are overly sweet. Personally, I can generally eat half a donut there and I'm done from the sweetness level. Just very rich. Even something you may not think would be overly sweet, like the maple bar with bacon, still has a high sugar level in the frosting. As a recommendation, if you're going to eat a donut here, have something to drink to wash it down. Overall, creative donut location with friendly staff at City Walk with fun donuts, just far to sweet for my liking. We tried an assortment from regular old fashioned to a couple of specialties like the Oh Captain, my Captain. The chocolate old fashioned was somewhat average but the Oh Captain was crazy delicious!
