We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. All in all, if you need a new roof or solar system or home battery, or all of the above, call Volt. The pool solar is totally useless, does not produce any heat, when I asked for a review I was told I would need to cut down my (4) Birch trees (very delicate branches) in order for pool solar to work. This was not suggested or shared when installing the solar, perhaps they knew that would be a hard no. I will need to have new pool solar installed and repair my new roof. I am floored that Magic Sun could not manage to provide good pool solar and add enough electric solar to satisfy their profit. 1 star is being generous.

I had Hooked on Solar install solar panels on my roof one year ago but PG and E has still not given…read morepermission to operate. We have had no one calling us back from Hooked on Solar. PG and E has told us several times that Hooked on Solar has to fix certain items. When H on S first set up system they drew up plans with circuit breaker and solar control on outside of house. when the workmen came they put those panels in garage but did not revise plan with city inspector. So when city came to inspect they required the plan be updated before giving approval. Several other issues seemed to arise that delayed the approval. I called H on S and asked to speak to the manager but the staff would not put me thru. It has been so awful. I would NOT recommend this solar co to anyone. My partner calls H on S weekly but never gets calls returned. They have left us very frustrated. Don't use this company.

I was interested in adding panels to my existing older solar roof panels. My panels are working well, but I could use more power. Was also interested on behalf of my daughter who wanted extra panels after adding an EV and hot tub. After a couple of tel/cons with Diego, we determined in both our cases, it would not be worth adding additional panels because our True-ups were not high enough annually to warrant a system purchase. We had an extensive discussion about the fact that there are no more perks or discounts to install solar and things have just gotten more expensive over the last year, with loss of rebates, etc. Diego was very honest that in both of our cases, the cost of upgrading our mutual systems was not worth the money it would cost. I truly appreciated his honesty as he talked himself out of not one job but two.
