What happened to this place? They had good customer service until recently. I brought my car here to get serviced on 5/21/12. Tune up, timing belt, brakes, etc. All of a sudden today the check engine light went on in my car. I brought it in immediately and told them that I had my car serviced there the previous month. The man at the front desk proceeded to tell me that it wasn't their fault, because the check engine light would have gone on immediately after service. He then asked me if I drove my car to Reno! Really? I'm nine months pregnant and I'm not driving anywhere other than locally. I was also asked if I started using new gas. That would be negative. He also asked if I go over speed bumps. Um yeah in my neighborhood for about as long as the 12 years as I've had the car. Guess I'm going to start looking for a new place to get my car fixed. read more

They used to be better. I have been ripped off badly for more that $300 for replacing the master brake cylinder which was a gray area to say the least. On an earlier occasion, I was made to believethat my rotor needed replacement one the very first brake job (around $65000 miles camry). They have mechanics who are not very skilled, intelligent or responsible. They focus on selling the maximum of services and parts. Watch out! The are good only for the oil change. Brought my car in about a week ago for oil pan gasket replacement for my 99 Mitsubishi eclipse. Called a day before and got an appt @ 1pm. The owner, Jerry said labor will take 1.5 hrs. I already have the gasket, oil and filter so labor cost is $150. Came in but they told me there's 2 cars ahead of me (so much for "appointment"). Car was done @ 4pm. Overall, they did a great job. No more leak so far. Jerry is ok but Brian is nice and friendly. Will be bringing my other cars here for future repairs. read more

I had been here to get my car smogged. I went here since they had recently posted an advertisement with a coupon. Once I got there they prepared the paper work and got my signature on the estimated cost (got the discount as per coupon) and took my car keys. After waiting there for over half-hour, they tell me that they cannot do the smog test since their equipment just stopped working. I took break from my work to get to this place which was out of my way, and I had to return with nothing accomplished. I am not sure why they post advertisements when they do not have the equipment working in their shop. I had trusted the previous owner and never had any complaints. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the new management. I first have to say that I am a big YELP reviewer and now I get a chance to finally write my own reviews. My wife's car is a 2008 VW Jetta 2.0 and as much as her car needed the oil change I neglected to do it. After a successful session at Wheelworks on my previous car and not to mention a great coupon I decided to take my wife's car there. However right before I was about to leave I noticed a coupon for Precision Tune Auto Care and not only a good one but a better price then my last one at Wheelworks. I immediately went onto YELP and read reviews not just one but multiple reviews. I decided to give this place a chance and took my wife's car there. The place was easy to find not only by directions but the sign was visible while driving. The down side was the parking lot, it was hard to find a parking spot but I managed. When I went in I presented my coupon to the gentleman who was there to help me and he was not only helpful but had great customer service. The down side was that the coupon did not apply to my wife's car due to it being a VW and the type of oil that was recommended and the oil filter it took. The gentleman however was so great to not only give me a discount on the oil change he even split the cost of the oil filter since it was my first time. He told me that the job would take 40 Min and it sure did. It was convenient to have a jack in the box two business down so I could grab a quick lunch before getting in my car that ran and sounded better then when I took it in. I know the gentleman cut me a break so that I would be a repeat customer and well it worked I am going to be back this week to get another thing done this time to my truck. I dropped in my 2014 Accord to Precision Tune in Mar 2019 since it is in walking distance to my home. I left the car for oil change and alignment. I can confidently say that the alignment was never done even though he showed me before and after test results. Clearly, those test papers were manipulated because a misalignment of wheels is a very easily detectable when you drive on freeway / highway. My car pulled to the right in the exact same manner as before and the steering wheel had the exact same response. I had a hunch this guys are crooks so I took the car to a different place; this other place did a pre-repair test and not only confirmed that wheels are not aligned, that their test results matched my original condition as I took the car into Precision before they said it was "repaired". All in all, these guys are crooks when they can charge $$ and not even touch the car. As for oil change - if I really wanted to, I could do an engine inspection and get oil analyzed to see if they really changed the oil, but I don't need to. I will safely assume they lied on that too. Checked in my car to get smogged, paper work filled out and all. Waited 20 minutes to be told by the tech that their machine is broken. Wait, why wasn't I told that the machine is broken when I checked in? IMO, this place didn't want my business because my car is older. You're not supposed to be turned away by test centers, it is illegal. This is one of 3 smog centers that told me their equipment is broken within an hour and within 2 miles of each other, hmmmmm. One weekend i was here for a simple tune up Next weekend came back with suspension problems....really now? 2 weeks later i came back because of some half-ass work done to my suspension. If I has the option to give a negative star, I would have done that but I am forced to give them a 1 star min. These people are MONEY SUCKERS!! I was amazed that some people were happy with the "EXTRA" fixes they had to get done in their car, like the previous review but didnt realize that they were getting CHEATED!! This is the game these people play!! They charge you a little less (may be by $10 or so) then the other auto service providers in the area .... but here is the catch .. they will ask you to get 10 other things fixed in the car which are not even required and suck money out of you!! Every time I go to them, they have a $200 bill ready for me. Within one year or so, they have eaten more than $500 out of me for things that I had never even heard of... I got my brake pads and rotor replaced by these people last year. They said that I get 1 year Warrenty and free life time brake pads replacement. But here is the catch, when I went back to them exactly after one year with some noise coming from the front wheel of my FWD car, they gave me a bill of $200 saying that the back wheel cylinders were leaking and they need to fix that to fix the noise from the front wheel. This is the 3rd time I got this kind of bill which made me feel suspicious. I went and got my car checked by another mechanic and to my surprise .... the actual reason for the noise was becase the rotor needed resurfacing ... just with 10,000 mile on a car, the rotor needed resurfacing ... what kind of material they must have used which didn't even last for 10k miles!! They made up a false reason to earn money .... there was no issue in the back wheel!! When I asked that what happened to my warrenty... they said that I am covered for the brake pads replacement, but I need to pay $100 for labour charge to avail this warrenty plus pay some other fee. Wow ... what kind of CHEATERS they are ... Especially Erube ... the guy who is a sweet talker but a robber .... just wants to do unneccessary fixes and EAT YOUR MONEY!! STAY AWAY from these guys .... or you will end up paying unnecessary 1000's of bucks on your car!! read more

Stay far away-you've been warned! Brought it in so my car could pass the smog, around $800 later I still failed the official smog at the test only station next door (South Main Smog). They told me that it passed their smog machine and that it was not there responsibility that I failed at the test only station. Jerry told me it could possibly be the official smog machine was not working, that each test varies according to the skill of the tester, that I had a old car, etc. 3 weeks later and $800 for a thermostat, O2 sensor, and a radiator (it broke on their dynometer machine) is a lot of money especially when they did not fix the original problem. I'm giving this place a 5-star only for the education that they had forced me to give myself. In so, I learned a new skill! Because of them, I learned how to repair my own car due to their inability to diagnose and solve a small problem. I hope you'll find the below an interesting read. I came in early on a Saturday morning for an oil change and tire rotation. Knowing that they would raise the vehicle on the lift for the service, I'd took advantage of that opportunity to request that they replace an after-market oxygen sensor that I had brought along while they drain the oil, agreeing to pay for the labor. After removing the old oxygen sensor, their technician pointed out that my new sensor was 2-3 inches longer. I asked them to install it anyway, and shortly they advised that the connector did't lock in place, even allowing me to verify it. Without even trying to figure out what was wrong, the manager (Carlos?) asked immediately what I would like to do from there, with a tone of belief that I had bought the wrong replacement part. As if to rush a decision, he asked again what I wanted to do while I took a few seconds to contemplate. (I could sense his impatience at this moment.) I compared the old connector with the new and notice what I thought was the reason why the connectors weren't mating, so I took a screw-driver to make a minor adjustment. After another attempt to mate the connectors without success, and being sensitive to their time, I decided to forego the repair, seeing how uninterested and unmotivated Carlos and the tech were in understanding the problem. Without hesitation, they'd made up their minds. Understandably, I was charged anyway for 1/2 hour of labor. While paying for the entire service and getting my keys back, Carlos shared his thoughts and subtle disdain about using after-market parts, implying that I'd made a mistake and that the higher cost would have been worth it. (I'm pretty sure they would be happy to sell me an OEM part with higher mark-up.) Fast forward another week, I borrowed the necessary tools to jack up the car and proceeded to give it another attempt. After about half an hour, I successfully installed the new O2 sensor. What I'd learned was that the latch/lock on the new connector was not at the proper angle to lock in place on the receiving connector. I had to bend it slightly, and was able to do so because it was plastic. This solved the problem! The take-away for me? Go here for reasonably-priced basic routine services that they know how to perform. Just don't rely on them to have problem-solving skills. But thanks to them, I developed mine. read more

This place is awesome. There's never a concern that my car repairs are going to be so expensive or that the mechanic will make something up because they know you don't know anything about cars. Not here. They are very honest and do the utmost to help you get your car repaired in as short amount of time as possible and they don't charge an arm and a leg. Came in @ 11:20a for an oil change and was informed that the mechanics were at lunch & they would not be able to begin until 1p, that my car was first in line, & it would take about an hour. The guy at the counter was nice enough to drop me off @Gmall and pick me up when my car was ready. Around 2:30p I still had not heard back so I gave them a call and they told me my car wasn't ready yet but that they would come pick me up in 15 mins because I told them I had a doc appt @3p. 15 mins passed and no one showed up. I was then starting to get a little worried because I knew I was going to be late... Finally @3p they call me up and tell me it's done but that my car needs a wheel alignment and if I have time for it. I told them "NO I definitely don't have time for it, I'm already late for my doctor's appt!" TERRIBLE customer service, they will take 3 hours for an oil change, and they made me miss my doctor's appt. DON'T COME HERE AT ALL! read more

Excellent customer service, quick work, and fair prices. My Jeep Liberty is plagued with a window regulator problem. Chrysler issued an extended warranty, and I thought that I could take my car to any mechanic and still be reimbursed for the charges. Due to the diligence of Brian, he figured out (by calling Chrysler) that my car had to be fixed at the dealership for me to receive the reimbursement. Unfortunately, by the time Brian figured this out, his technician had already taken my car apart, confirmed it was the regulator and put in an order for the part (they had done all of this within an hour of me bringing the car in, super fast!). He cancelled the order and put my car back together for no additional fee's. Also the estimate that I got from Precision was substantially lower than what Chrysler normally charges to fix this issue. They graciously missed out on my business for this particular issue to save me some money! Not many mechanics would do that. I will definately take my car here for all other issues moving forward. This is my go-to shop for any significant automotive work I need done. My car is getting up there in age so it needs things done more often than it used to which means I come see these guys a couple times a year. This last time it was a bit more major than usual (I overheated the engine) and they worked hard to make sure that I was taken care of. Jerry and Carlos are so helpful and were always kind when I called asking questions about the work they were doing. My car had overheated and the engine needed a lot of work to be repaired.The problem happened in Monterey so I first took it to another (closer) mechanic who told me the repairs would be over $500 more than what it ended up costing me with Precision Tune - Milpitas. I am so happy with the work that was done to my car and the care that was taken to make sure I was safe. Jerry and Carlos are honest and knowledgeable, and most of all PATIENT. This is the worst review I've ever given. Avoid this place. I went in for a three hour oil change. At about hour one I got impatient and walked over to Jack in the Box nearby cuz I was starting to get hungry. After I finished my lunch it was hour 2 and surprise surprise my car wasn't even propped up yet. Then I asked the owner how long it would take. He said about another hour since other cars were in front of me and he can 'expedite' service and give it to me in an hour. To which I said either do it now or I'm just going to take my car somewhere else. About an hour later I got my car back and the cashier had the nerve to joke with me about paying him extra. Not only that, he then proceeded to screw up my credit card charge and had to redo it. I had a coupon but the price listed does not include disposal fee and other random charges. Then the quoted price was actually different than what I ended up paying (which thankfully was less but annoying nonetheless). End of my rant. read more

This place has taken a turn for the worse. This shop use to be know for great customer service, knowledge and friendliness. I went in not long ago and had found out that they let go of the most knowldgeable guy there,Erube. The owner has no clue as to what is going on. I went in for an oil change and owner(jerry su) said it would take about 30-40 mins. This guy has no sense of time. Atleast be honest as to how long it gonna be. Erube was a straight forward guy, honest, knowledgable. I will no longer be serviceing my car here. The confusion i saw that day was amazing how anything gets done there. I had been a customer at this Precision Auto Care Milpitas for many, many years. It appears that about a year ago the ownership changed and so did the level and quality of the work. One of the items on the check list for the oil change is to check the batter contacts and clean them if needed, One week after my car was serviced at Precision Milpitas my battery died. AAA came to my aid with a new battery. The contacts were very corroded. The AAA tech told me that did happen in a week. I tried them again when my A/C wasn't cooling properly. The new person in the office talked to me like I was car ignorant (yes, I am female) about how to run my car and turn on the A/C. My car was cooler when I left but then on the way home I realized that my steeringwheel was all sticky and black with grease from the hands of the mechanic when he parked the car outside for me to pick up and there were two BIG oily footprints on the floor mat on the drivers side. I took my car in last saturday 05/12/12 @ 7:30 to beat the crowd to get an oil change. I was the first in line thank goodneess I thought I would be out of there right away, Think Not! Once they opened the doors they started completing everyone that was in line`s paperwork and sure enough they started to pull in everyone else`s car but mine. When asking what was wrong since I was the first there beiong a 1/2 hour early they said there was a mix up with their board. Once they started to pull in another car at this point I was getting a little upset so i asked the gentleman that helped me why my car was not being taken in for service. He went outside to the garage and they I approached the owner Jerry. While upset talking to Jerry I guess the guy that first helped me out did not see me when Jerry asked what was the problem so he turned to Jerry and said "Tell him to sit down and wait his turn" Now I was flamed. I asked him what did he say and he told me if I did not like it i could get my car and get out of here. He also threated to call the police to have me removed and all I wanted was a dang oil change. I will only say this I thought to inform the owner of what a rude manager he has working for him. I have never used this facility and after the way me and my family this includes my young niece and nephews I will never take my car there. The only reason I was there was I have a mechanic who shares the same lot, one day my sister in law was bringing in her car to have it looked at, the parking lot is so small that the Precision Tune up seems to take up most of it, on previous times I went to the mechanic I have seen many vehicles trying to find parking spots in which one day I did this. Next thing I knew with my niece and nephew in my car my sister in laws car was smoking, this individual he knows who he is had the nerve to be rude telling me to move out of the way instead of asking nicely and I told him don't be talking to me like that I just got here. He didn't even suggest where else I could park he just proceeded to embarrass me in front of my sisterinlaw and my niece and nephew. I don't tolerate people talking to me like that I have worked in customer service since I was a teenager. Then I said what I had to because I didn't want it to reflect on the mechanic since he rents from there does great work on my cars and others he was refer ed to me.... Then on 2/22/09 we took my sisterliness car in again and what do you know this same guy started saying stuff where my 17 year son was there asking him what his problem was and my sister in law so I told them let me handle it, so I went in and asked who the manager was he claims he is, I said in front of him whats is your problem he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about, so I said you are suppose to be a manager this is the second time you were being rude, who is your boss, so he then hands me the card then I left. You should not be treated in this matter period I was not rude to this individual until he was being ridiculous acting as if he owned the parking spots never once as good customer say it would be OK if you parked there. I hope you read this very carefully and take your car somewhere else to the mechanic I go to he treats you with respect and fixes your car, buts its up to you to make that decision to deal with a jerk of a manager at Precision Tune I hope the owner reads this I don't know how you conduct business allowing this person o talk to you like that!!!! read a few comments about this shop before coming down. a friend is the one who told about this place. just came in for an oil change. the people at the counter completely and thouroghly explained all cost before signing me up. did have a coupon for $17.95 but ended up paying more, as i was expectiing. unlike the other review about paying way more. it clearly states on coupon "most cars" and other oil grades besides 10w-30 will cost more. i guess if you dont read coupon or have low expectation like in another review u can instigate a bad experience. anyways staff was professional, very knowledgable and made me feel comfortable. as for the an appointmenti was told i had to wait a bit, which is understandable since issues can come up during the day which can affect scheduling. well again experienc was great and will return for all my automotive needs. read more
