This is by far the most amazing auto repair shop I have ever been to! Sean and Ed are experts with all Nissan and Infiniti vehicles while being honest and affordable. They were able to point out that previous repairs I had made on my Infiniti G35 by a different shop were faulty. Not only did Precision Z correct the problems with my steering and suspension, but I was also able to file claims against the companies that had put the faulty parts in my vehicle. When I got my Z (93 TT), I had a hard time finding a shop I trusted to do things right. I went to a couple places and the mechanics had no idea that the Z needs some special attention. After having three less-than-stellar experiences elsewhere (wrong spark plugs, wheels out on backwards, spark plugs that weren't even screwed in...), I drove up to Precision Z in Canoga Park from Redondo Beach where I live. I have been back a few times since then. What I really like is that they never rush me. Sean or Ed always explain exactly what's going on, what's broken and why, and what things need to be done now versus later, as well as what I/they can do to save me money on parts and labor. Both Kyle and Pete do great work. I don't live near this place, but I keep coming back. They have a nice table outside where I work while they work. They have wifi available that is allowing me to type up and submit this review. They have water and soda while you wait. They always know my name and the name of everyone I have ever seen walk in the door. On my original motor, I'm 262,000 miles strong with no problems. Hands down the best nissan/infiniti specialists. I recently purchased a used 2011 g37 and being how used cars are there were a couple problems. In the beginning I took my car to local shops and got quotes from them, but I could not believe how outrageous the prices were. After giving Sean a call he told me just bring the car over and he can fix it almost half the price. Even though I live in LA and have to drive 30miles to get here I would only trust them to touch my car. I feel so fortunate to have found Sean and Ed at Precision Z! I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier with over 120k miles on it, and they have been amazing getting all the long delayed maintenance completed. I am thrilled with their work and their work ethic. They are honest, up front about possible issues, and give me a fair quote that is often within pennies of the actual job. They use genuine Nissan parts (not after market crap to save a few bucks!) and they really know Nissan and Infiniti vehicles inside and out! It's a little bit of a drive for me, but they're the only shop I'll trust to work on my from now on. I even met a guy, that's been going to them for years, and he drove over 60 miles to have them work on his car. He found Performance Z, when he lived closer, but like me, they're worth the drive!! They had my front struts and rear shocks installed in 3 hours, without any problems. Even though I didn't have an appointment, they were pretty booked that day, but they squeezed me in because I had taken the day off from work to get my shocks installed! I Highly recommend this shop!!! Great service, prices, very competent and professional mechanics, honest recommended repairs, nice clean shop, and the guys were really cool. I had taken my G35 to a shop in Simi Valley, and they had my car for two days, only to tell me that they could not install my Koni shocks & struts. Telling me that I had purchased the wrong ones. They insisted that I bought the wrong part numbers, even though I went to Koni's online store, input the make model, and year of my car. I'd been looking for a good shop for my 07 350z and found Precision Z online. Despite a couple of recent negative reviews I decided to give them a try, and I was not disappointed. Came in to swap my end links and get an alignment, and while the car was up on the rack they found my toe bolts had been installed in the wrong place (common issue I later found out). Had them reinstalled correctly, and they even took care of the rear axle clicking noise the dealerships say have no fix, all for a more than reasonable and fair price. I have been a customer of Precision Z for 2 years now and I can say Sean and Ed are always very straightforward, knowledgeable, and will answer your questions. Most importantly, the work done here is ALWAYS good quality, fairly priced, and honest. The garage is hospitable, offering soft drinks for those deciding to wait, and very clean. There is a reason I keep going there even though it is ~30 miles away from me. I have gone to actual Nissan dealerships twice because I issues I thought were serious and I have regretted it both times (and they were different dealerships too!). By now if I have a serious issue I'd rather attempt the drive and require a tow truck halfway through than limp to a nearby dealership. This is a sort of shop that makes you think old school, when good honest work was the norm. You can literally bring any Z regardless of generation and they will know it inside and out, as well as other Nissan & Infiniti models. Make sure to call ahead or make an appointment online, as they are so great they are usually busy, but worry not, they always try to work with you as much as possible. Some more details on my personal experience. I bought a '03 350Z in October 2014 and went there to have all fluid replacement and inspection done. My lower oil pan was damaged and they fixed it. Since then I've kept coming back to get a number of things done such as lower control arm bushings, differential fix with whiteline bushing, knocking engine diagnose and fix, installation of aftermarket parts I bought, and most recently (10/12/16) a diagnose on an issue not even Nissan dealership fixed for me. I was experiencing vibration on brake pedals and abs actuator working (on regular driving braking, not hard) and incorrect speedometer reading. Dealership could not (or rather did not even bother to) diagnose and told me I needed a new ABS module costing around $1,900 for parts and labor. A quick trip to Precision Z and it turns out one of my ABS sensor pickups was dirty and giving incorrect reading about the wheel speed, which in turn caused all the other issues. Regardless to say, a diagnose and clean of sensor was extremely cheaper than an ABS module (which was not necessary). read more

They know what they are doing, but they are not honest in how they conduct business. To start, I went to them because I was told that they try to save their customers money, which is why I drove 45 minutes to get to them. Instead, my experience was that they were trying to run up a high bill, and charged the dealer's price. In addition, I was treated like I had zero fundamental understanding about my car and how it works. Upon my arrival and departure, the staff used scare tactics to justify the cost. They have VERY low quality customer service. We drove half way there, and I called to let them know what time I would be there, and they informed me that the car wasn't ready. No one called me to inform me beforehand the car would not be ready at the previously agreed upon time. Even worse, I saw no sense of remorse for the lack of customer service in how they handled the delay. Bottomline: They charged me two hours of labor at dealer prices for a job that only takes one hour to complete, especially for a specialist. They also use scare tactics as the center of conversation with customers, and they do not accommodate customers when they are at fault. read more

Having been around cars and mechanics for 40 years, I can tell you that Precision Z is wonderful, marvelous, and will exceed your expectations. I will not take my beloved '86 Turbo anywhere else. I know what I'm saying, and here's why: Time after time they have come through and all the repairs leave the car far better than when it came in. They once even commented about something wrong with the clutch, that had had repairs done by a previous mechanic. I took it back to that mechanic and they set it right, but this only happened because the guys at Precision Z had the integrity to mention something. They didn't even know it had been to a previous mechanic for clutch. Top that! Ed and Sean are the most capable, honest, brilliant people who really do love mechanical things. It's in their blood. Driver's side window on my My 2004 Infinity G35 Coupe failed during the last rain storm. It went down and stayed down ... and wouldn't roll up, making it inoperable during these recent rains in LA! I contacted Van Nuys Infinity's service dept but couldn't even get a call back after I explained the situation and asked for a quote. Found Precision Z on Yelp and spoke with Sean about it. This is the only place I feel comfortable leaving my 307Z because I trust these guys and I know they know what they are doing and they will do the right thing! Just like to say that I've been a customer of Precision Z since 2006. Have nothing but good things to say about them. Yeah, some folks may have had issues with them. However, not to knock anyone, but different folks take things differently than others. Now as far as getting your Z fixed and running great, Pete, Sean & Ed really do their jobs. They are sincere, and that's golden in this realm! I have two Z's a '95 Z-32 convertible that's super rare and modified and a Z-33 roadster, (also 'enhanced'). My cars will continue to be serviced here. Now expect to here some grief if you cheap out on things and got/do shoddy work on your Z. However, any GOOD shop does the same. my family took my car may of last year to replace the battery. they told they had an excellent service. battery was replaced for a reasonable price with a 2 year warranty. fast forward today, i had a serious issue with my car. it was very intermittent (happened once but since seriously dangerous). Sean was upfront and honest with me that if it only happened once, it is very difficult to resolve the issue. Thanks to Sean, i just found out that there were two issues that are already covered by Nissan recalls and recommended to take it to a dealership to fix the recalls issue. Decided to visit Precision Z after my '06 350Z lost power on the freeway and tripped a bunch of warning lights. I was weary from previous experiences with the dealership and decided to try this local Z shop. They very professional, friendly, and well informed about my car. I called ahead and they said to come in for a diag test. They found the problem (bad cam sensor), fixed it, and I was driving away in under 2 hours. Keep in mind, this was without an appointment and they were servicing other cars. This would be a day long saga at the Nissan dealer. The service was a good price.
