I own a 70 240z that I purchased in August. After a few hundred miles the car started overheating and running rough. Did my due diligence on a Z shop and took it to Ed at Precision Z. Boy did I get lucky with picking a great shop. When I first bought the car I was checking all the vitals and noticed some stuff floating in the radiator. Little did I know that the seller, in my opinion, added head gasket stop leak. When Ed took the head off it was cracked and eroded away and the gasket showed the same. Obviously this didn't happen with a few hundred miles and an old schooler driving. So he sent it out for repair at his go to machine shop and they did a beautiful job saving the original head for the original engine. I was back on the road in less than a week and it runs perfect. I'll take it back after 1000 miles and he'll re-torque the head. I saw plenty of early and later model Z's and some other Japanese cars. Obviously after 40 years in the business of Z's the word is out. read more

Just look at ALL those 5-Star ratings customers give Precision Z. I AM NOT SURPRISED. They are the BEST. I had a stalling problem with my '81 280Z. There was a grinding noise coming from the fuel pump. It would stop pumping, hence the stalling. I took it to mechanic after mechanic and they all changed the fuel pump. I had three pumps put in. NO solution. I took it to Precision Z. Ed diagnosed the problem and FIXED it! He found, naturally, that it was something in the cycle BEFORE the pump. Something was MAKING the pump grind and stop pumping - the fuel pressure was WAY high. He fixed it and that was a wrap. The pump now worked perfectly, and no more stalling! I'll never go anyplace else. Bravo Ed!!! read more

Where do I even begin, I had the pleasure of meeting Sean at Precision Z for a pre purchase inspection on a 2010 370z sport package. From the phone call to setup an appointment, to the actual inspection, I knew I was putting my trust in the right hands. The guys at this shop are gear heads who have a passion for the Z platform, which makes you feel confident your at the right place. The specific car I wanted inspected seemed like the perfect buy at first, black on black, sports package, an Ark exhaust system paired with the infamous Motordyne Art test pipes, dropped on the one and only KWV3's, with SPL Titanium camber arms and toe links. It seems like every enthusiast's dream buy. Then came time for the inspection, long story short, Sean and I took the car out on a test drive, and he immediately identified a problem and recreated it so I could hear it too, the axel nuts were loose, and needed replacing. We got back to the shop and the remainder of the inspection took place. I got the inspection results and found out the owner was hiding a few very expensive details about his 370Z. I have decided not to buy the car just because the owner seemed shady and the car had many problems, one being the clutch master cylinder going out. I will definitely be back to Precision Z for more Pre Purchase Inspections, and any mechanic work my new Z will need. Thanks again Sean, your the man. This is a very professional, no bullshit establishment, with exceptional service, and an exceptionally clean restroom. Sean had helped me since day one, and went out of his way to consistently keep in touch and keep me updated on every bit of news on the progress to ensure I was fully aware and informed of everything. The shop and staff perform quality work and are very knowledgable about nearly everything Nissan. They do their best to work efficiently and get you in and out in a timely manner with very reasonable cost as well. By far the best place I have taken my 2008 Nismo to get serviced at! These guys are professional, courteous and very affordable! They pinpointed my vehicles issue quickly and showed me a few other items that could be a concern later on. The shop floor was clean and equipment was well placed and not once did they try to push parts to make a sale, I felt comfortable leaving my vehicle there to get serviced. I was even surprised that they gave me a ride to a nearby location to grab a bite to eat. I will definitely be taking my vehicle there again. These guys Rock! read more

I'm amazed there are no reviews for these guys. I have an '95 Q45 Infiniti and I always go there for service. The place to take your car if you own an infiniti or Nissan and especially if you own a Z as the name implies. They tell you everything you need to know and always answer your questions and are willing to install parts you buy elsewhere! Their prices are good and I don't mind spending and extra buck or two just to know that my car is being serviced to oem specs! read more

Sean and the guys at Precision Z are awesome. They really, really know Z-cars inside and out. I have had three relatively major services performed by them on my 2008 350z over the span of two visits totaling 4 days of work. First I had them swap out my clutch, flywheel, and clutch hydraulics for some aftermarket parts I purchased. While the car was in for that they did the full 60,000 mile service. Then a couple of weeks later I had them swap out my shocks, springs, several suspension bushings, and do a full alignment on the car. I have been extremely happy with their work. Sean took the time to answer all of my (many) questions ahead of time and was extremely honest about what services were needed, and what just weren't worth the money. Despite the large scope of work each time, they delivered my car on time and without any financial surprises. They have earned me as a customer for as long as I have my Z! read more

Worst place to come to. I highly don't recommend anyone coming here. I called earlier in the week to see if they could fix my Z and I explained to the guy what was wrong with the car. I covered all the details and he agreed to fix it , he said to bring it in and so I did. I paid a tow truck to take the car to the mechanics and I thought everything was great till i got there. When I got there he greeted me but as soon as he looked at the car he got very furious and started yelling at me as to why i was waisting his time with a car that wasn't worth his time. He said he was booked for three weeks yet he failed to tell me that over the phone. I explained everything to him so I don't understand why he made me waist my time and money coming to this establishment. He told me to junk it and that it wasn't worth anyone else's time. I wanted to take it to the track and you know it has been a dream of mine to fix it up so I would be able to take it to the track so its bad enough that he waisted my time and money but with his words he even put me down and made feel like i could never take my z to the track because it wasn't "nice" or "good" enough. Luckily i called another mechanical shop and explained everything and they agreed to come to my house to look at the car. But over all i don't recommend this place. I would have included his name but he wasn't even wearing a name tag or anything. On the bright side this isn't the only establishment that specializes on Nissan 350 z and I'm pretty sure they would be a whole lot nicer. read more

I have been going to Precision Z for years now. Easily over 5 years for my 350z. I will start with the pros and cons....... First the cons....... NONE!!! Now for the pros..... Knowledge of Z cars, honesty, integrity and ethics in the automobile repair business. When you call for an appointment, you get your appointment time. No waiting or messing around. You will be greeted by Sean or Ed and they will listen to what your concerns are. They have a wealth of knowledge and will advise you on the correct service and pricing options. I have never felt pressured to do more than what is needed. Sean will walk you through what the repairs will be and there will be no surprises. They have a waiting room you can relax in and chat it up, or within walking distance you can go to starbucks, or some food places down the street. Also a mall you can go to if you will be there for a while. There is absolutely no one else I would trust my Z with for repairs and Maint. And if they don't have the part they need, Watch them make a phone call and it will be there right away. Give Precision Z a chance, you will never go to the dealership or anywhere else again for service. read more

I live near Beverly Hills, I said near not in, but my point is. I drive 29 miles one way to have my car serviced by Ed, Pete, Shaun etc. they are the best especially, Ed the owner, hands down no one compares. I had some electrical trouble with my 1977 280Z SEVERAL YEARS AGO so it set in the garage for two almost three years because all of the dealers could not figure out what was wrong with it, after they had charged me $400.00 to tell me they didn't know what was wrong with my car!! People were telling me to get rid of my Z and I told them somewhere there is A MASTER MECHANIC who can fix it and not the dealers telling me we don't' know but to do a thorough examination of your car, it will costs you $1600. I purchased a used Toyota Celica 1990 to get around and when it broke down the tow truck driver recommended Precision Z that was over 6 years ago and I have been a loyal customer ever since. No one touches my car BUT PRECISION Z, If you take your car here you will receive 3 things: HONESTY, FANTASTIC MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE, AND REASONABLE PRICING!!! THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!! read more
