These guys are awesome! They were professional, experienced, reasonable about the cost, a were hard working. All things we expect from a anyways right? Well we got a whole lot more! Joe and Carlos awesome. They worked with a 91 yr old woman on a fixed income and limited resources to repair a major leak outside her home. Take into account the leak was not only under ground, but buried underneath a slab of concrete. Our efforts to get other plumbers to help were a joke...Deharts wanted an additional 900 just to give another estimate about the repair as the leak could not be seen. Another, Thorsons didnt even bother to show up for the scheduled "free Estimate" he made with us. Not even a phone call to cancel. Preferred came out, spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out the best way to go about knowing how to go about giving an estimate on a leak you could not see. Joe came to us, spent nearly 45min explaining in detail, and often repeated times our options and what we might be facing. When asked what "HE" would do?" He answered honestly. Julia and i agreed to follow his advice and pay what i thought to be reasonable price to have them bring a device that can detect leaks under ground by way of sound. Long story short.....They found 2 leaks. After some calls to the boss some creative thinking on both Joes and Carlos' part they came up with both a plan and an amount Julia could afford. They worked for two days out there, the first nite till 830 to cut the cement, dig it out and there fore stop the leak. They returned the following morning on time and finished. They cleaned up everything! Even the mounds of dirt left by other plumbers. The finished job was friggin great! They managed to keep "ALL" her precious spinklers and faucets out there. Let me explain....the pipe they replaced was 1938 galvanized pipe, rusting and rotting out. Later, spinklers were added as well as faucets. It was thought she might have to sacrifice these in the repairs due to the lay out ( I think??? lol) Wanna see upset? Just tell a 91yr woman shes gonna have to go without her sprinklers and water bibs....Those two put forth the extra effort to find some "T" and save " EVERYTHING!!!! Listen, Julia said it best when she looked at Joe and asked, "Where are you hiding your wings because youre an angel" They ( Joe and Carlos ) did an outstanding job. Their work is under warranty for an entire year, they replaced the rusted out pipe, put in a new shut off valve, relayed cement to perfection, and completely put the yard back in order. But most importantly, they were able to not assist a 91 yr old woman, but have her fully understand the options with patience and grace, and to put her at ease. I have one bathroom and two teenage boys. Together that equals a BIG problem! I was stressed out, I called Preferred Plumbing and Drain and they had someone at my house within an hour. I was impressed, but thought oh no, it's probably going to be expensive. However, it was not. It was less expensive than the other companies. I know that for sure bc I called other companies and their hourly charge was way more than Preferred Plumbing and Drain. Before staring the work, the technician, Cody, gave me an estimate of how much it would cost, so I was able to decide if I wanted to go through with the work or not. The technician did an amazing job explaining, in layman's terms, what my issue was, what he did to clear the clog, and he recommended some other things I could do in the future. Cody fixed the issue, and tested his work to ensure the problem was fixed. Not only did Cody clean up his tools, machinery, etc., but he also cleaned my bathroom. The technician mopped my floor and cleaned my toilet. It was cleaner when he left then when he got there. The BEST part is that he gave me a warranty! Cody was amazing; he was professional and made me feel very comfortable! I will use Preferred Plumbing and Drain for ALL of my future plumbing issues and will definitely recommend them to my family and friends. I had a plugged up toilet that we had been plunging for about 6 months while we continued to contact our landlord to have it fixed. They had been ripped off about 5 months earlier by another company that came out to do the same job and unclog the toilet and ended up paying $650.00 to replace the toilet without doing anything about the clog so it continues to clog and they refuse to send anyone out because they already spent $650.00. So, on a Sunday evening about 6 o'clock, i finally decided to call a plumber and pay for it myself and submit the bill to them. To my udder amazement, Preferred Plumbing sent me a young man named Brian to my house in Stockton and he spent about 10 minutes in the restroom and walked out with a smile and said it was all done and handed me a bill for $148.00!!!! I went in the bathroom and sure enough, it was flushing like never before. I tried to tip him and he said "No thank you, but you can write me a yelp review", which I am more then happy to do. I had bought a new dishwasher after my old one started leaking. I paid the company I bought it from to deliver and install the new one. When they arrived w/ my delivery, not only were they rude, but they refused to put in the new dishwasher because the old one was still installed. What?!! I'm supposed to do that myself?! After I got the old dishwasher removed, the company said it would be at least a week before they could get back out. I didn't want to wait so I called Preferred Plumbing & Drain to come out and install my dishwasher for me. They came out right away. The gentleman that came out was very courteous & respectful! Although there were a couple of snags (like my hardwood floor had warped due to the old dishwasher leaking, etc..), he stayed calm and laid out all of my options for me, walking me through the pros and cons of each. He stayed until the work was completed and the dishwasher was in & running. Yay!! Beware. They lied to me on the phone and said they had the part for my water heater, otherwise I would have never allowed them to com over. They did not have the part! 3 days later still no hot water. Guy shows up, no company truck, no uniform just in a t-shirt & jeans. That was my first clue that was not going to be professional. Took 3 hours to put in a thermocouple in water heater, then says PGE needs to be called, then says nevermind he thinks he fixed it. Since he was dealing with gas I was afraid he was going to blow up the house because he obviously didn't know what he was doing. I asked him to leave, he says don't you want me to fix it? I said NO! after 3 hours, NO. I said please get your stuff and go! Finally he leaves, stands in my driveway on the phone. I go out there and tell him to get off my property, I finally got rid of him. I call his supervisor, they back him up, no suprise. I call another plumber, takes 20 minutes to put in a thermocouple...they contract people out... not company employees. Called Preferred Plumbing & Drain with a washing machine drain pipe overflow/ clog issue. Requested fast appointment and was pleased to have less than a 30 minute wait for service. Technician Vince arrived and diagnosed that pressure washing the pipes was appropriate to resolve the problem. The service was efficient and resolved additional water drainage issues that were impacting the kitchen line which was a bonus. Consultation was provided to education on appropriate pipe cleaning solutions to prevent future buildup. Very Happy with the job. As our family was so happy with the emergency service we asked for a quote to repair a tub faucet leak in the hall bathroom. The additional work was added on and completed equally quickly and efficiently after the technician ran to purchase parts. Very happy we called Preferred Plumbing today, not only did they solve our emergency they helped us to fix a leak which had been increasing our water bill. I'm having a leaky faucet shower checked out, found out that the builder of the house used valves or something that cannot be replaced but cut through the walls and cut the pipes. original quoted price is $1200 dollars after already paid $500 dollars for new toilet and installation on 7/19/14. I talked to Bryan (manager) and was able to reduce the cost to $900 including permit. Thomas came in yesterday tried to fix the leak without success, but Today he is here with Matthew (more experienced plumber), after checking out the leak, that's what he found out. the valve is not replaceable, need to cut the copper pipes and re-install a new valve system that will be more beneficial and easier to replace if leak happens again in the future. All in all, I am pleased that Matthew found the problem, it is drought season, and I would not want a leaky faucet or pipe that will add more problem to the drought. I would recommend Preferred Plumbing to people out there that needs plumbing done right. read more

My Mom Marlene lives in Merced, CA. Our hotwater heater went out. Called Preferred Plumbing & Drain & they sent out Johnny & Henry. They were very informative & fixed the problem quickly. Then they came back that same night like around 6:30pm all the way from Turlock to fix another problem which WASN'T their mess up. Johnny fixed & replaced my Moms faucet in the kitchen & didn't charge her. He replaced & fixed something that wasnt their problem for free because he wanted to make my Mom happy. The first time Aaron was sent out and he did a great job, very professional and knowledgeable. We were having major plumbing issues and he snaked or drains and cleared them up immediately. We are a skilled nursing facility in Turlock, so we have issues with staff flushing wipes, paper towels, and resident flush linen on more than one occasion, so when we called to schedule a camera job I felt like they made us their first priority! Not knowing the first thing about plumbing, I had a leak that was coming from under my sink. At first the leak was very minimal but then it started to come out onto the tile, so I opened the cabinets and thought it was coming from the sink. When I called these guys to come out to my San Jose home, they ended up telling me it was the garbage disposal. The home I own is 40+ years old and the disposal looked old and outdated. They were able to go to the parts store and get a replacement. It didnt take long for them to remove the existing disposal and replace it with the new one. We didn't have to wait to long, but when the water was flowing in the sink everything appeared to work well and there was no leak. I think they did a really good job and it wasn't as expensive as I thought it was going to be. Would recommend if you had a problem similar to mine read more

If you're looking for a great plumber, look no further! These guys were quick to come right out and help me with my problem. On the front, right side of my home I had a "soft spot" with what looked like never ending mud. There was a small leak from a galvanized pipe I guess which was coming up through the ground, so this was costing me money too since the water was constantly leaking. I had no idea how to address this, it was a very small leak but noticeable and went on for well over 6 months. I calle dthese guys and they were able to come out the same day. They had to dig up all around the area, and put in a new pipe and when they were done burried it all back up. I haven't noticed any problems since they addressesd this problem. Drew arrived and diagnosed the leak, and resulted of us needing a new water heater. I was hoping it was minor, but we knew that our unit was old. Darren from preferred plumbing and drain did a great job fixing my bathroom. We had a toilet issue that was keeping my family and I from using the restroom. Darren arrived and was assured us that everything was going to be fine. He fixed the leak installed a new toilet and kept my family updated regarding how long it would take. I called Preferred Plumbing and Drain because a fixture was leaking in my powder room. Leaking enough that I had to keep changing out towels every 30 minutes. I called on a Saturday , around 5:30 pm. Within an hour Brian (SERP #33) was knocking at my door. Brian diagnosed the problem in a jiffy, and was out the door to purchase the necessary parts. Brian fixed the problematic toilet within 30 minutes. Brian also found that the H2O cut-off valve to the house did not work, so he had to cut off the H2O at the sidewalk valve. Called Preferred plumbing and needed some work for a multiplex in Tracy which was leaking water from the bottom of the apartment complex through a busted hose, they sent out one of their technicians which his name was Roger code number 39. Let me tell you how much of a straight shooter the guy was he came and checked out the problem told me how much it was gonna cost me went underneath the unit which I couldn't fit in, Took care of the problem took pictures on his cell phone to show me that everything has been fixed and also advised me about other issues that I have underneath there that I should take care of what a class act guy. We had an issue the other evening and needed to give Preferred Plumbing & Drain a call. It was after 5 p.m. and immediately we were concerned about the cost.of an after hours call. Well Brandon (Service Tech #28) came out and worked quite late in the dark on getting our drains cleared enough that we would be fine thru the evening and able to get ready for work in the morning. I had discovered a leak under my sink that has been happening for a while. The leaking had caused some molding to happen in my kitchen cabinet. I immediately called Preferred Plumbing and Drain and they showed up within the hour. Nico showed up at my doors to take a quick look and quickly gave me an estimate and how long it would take to do the job. I was satisfied with the reasonable price given and the leak was fixed within an hour along with replacement of the moldy board under it. We had an emergency after hours and needed someone to come snake our sewer line. Cullen was fantastic! It was kind of a tough job, and he had a hard time getting the snake all the way to the problem.
