Just had a fantastic experience at Prego with Phillip. He recommended the seafood pasta which was beyond delicious. We also ordered the ribeye which could have used a little more seasoning. We absolutely loved our meal. Through I have gone to Pregos many times over the past decades, I was not a regular. Reading some of the reviews were very disheartening, as I was really looking for to the reopening. They did not disappoint! The waiter, Martine, was excellent. The manager made a point of stopping by because we so enjoyed our meal. Their menu is expanding with more pasta dishes and pizza. They have not had their official grant opening - wait and see! The bread, with warm marinara, was perfect. The shrimp cocktail was huge. Their version of 'French onion' soup was excellent. Terrible experience, will not be coming back. Made reservations to take my girlfriend out on Friday night. We get there and the host was very rude and made us uncomfortable. She commented that I only made the reservation an hour prior so she will see what she can do. After a few more rude comments she finally seated us in the loud busy part next to the bar. Took 15 minutes for a waiter to come and offer us water. After how the host treated us and nobody coming to acknowledge us at our table, we just left. I will never go back to this place, they ruined my night and date I was excited about having with my girlfriend. read more

Came here for Christmas Eve dinner with a large group. Everything was top notch! They had a prime rib special that was cooked perfectly... nice and juicy. Was disappointed to hear the chef couldn't be there due to a recently broken arm... we've talked with him before and he's a delight. Already booked our reservations for New Year's Eve. We moved to the area recently so we never went to this restaurant's previous location, but we heard how great it was, so decided to try the new Prego. It's a beautiful restaurant filled with wood and nice paintings of the Italian countryside. There is an open kitchen where you can see the chefs in action. There is also a large bar area with plenty of seating and tvs, as well as an outdoor patio with fireplace. Everyone was very friendly and I felt like we had our own crew of servers waiting on us. Our food and drinks came quickly and everything was delicious. I can see why people love this place. The real surprise was the head chef came to our table and introduced himself. He was genuine and talked to us about his hometown in Italy. When my wife told him she tried making tiramisu but it didn't turn out, he took the time to explain to her how to do it. You rarely see that kind of attention in most restaurants. Our meals were large so we took the leftovers home. We look forward to coming back and trying more of Prego's delicious food. Like the location but the food does not rate high. The Happy Hour menu was very disappointing. Obviously, we always enjoyed the Prego on Von Karmen. Now the menu is not Italian which we didn't realize. The choices were poor and the quality was poor and over salted but the Meatballs were good. Portions were so small and I came home and ate. Had a killer time here for happy hour with my fiancé. We were a bit apprehensive at first because they were hosting a large private event, so we just asked to sit in the bar. It was pretty busy but before we could worry the owner came and quickly offered us a table in the bar area. The service was exceedingly fast and friendly and the food was outstanding. We ordered the meatballs, carpaccio and cheese pizza. The pizza was the star of the show with the cheese literally melting off each delicious beautiful slice. This was our second time dining at this location at The District. The first time was dinner at the bar and it did not disappoint. Our appetizer and entrees were delicious, the bartender/server was helpful and friendly. Our second time was for Sunday brunch and just as good of a dining experience. The breakfast pizza was amazing! Wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm glad I got it because I'd like to have it regularly. My BF had the beef ragout, which was also quite delicious. You can tell the pasta is fresh as it's quite silky. The sauce was also damn good! The only point they could work on was the server checking in on us a little sooner. It wasn't very crowded and there was the occasional lag, but otherwise the dishes were served at appropriate times. Everyone was attentive and our water glass was always refilled appropriately. We just had a wonderful celebration dinner this evening. This was my second time ordering the lamb chops. They are the best I've ever eaten. They are super tender, juicy, and the sauce is delicious. The accompanying risotto is sometimes creamier than other times, but still tasty. The profiteroles were really good too. The service is attentive without being disruptive. Tonight, our waiter, Greg was friendly and patient. The chef/owner was very accommodating in that he came over to our table to ensure that we would get exactly the appetizer pizza that we wanted. While there was nothing outright wrong with out dishes - they were okay, everything had something off. Food was 3 stars, service made it 2. Had dinner here with my two teenage boys, we ordered the calamari appetizer, boys ordered the short-rib pasta, and I ordered the grilled salmon. Calamari never appeared, they brought one of the pastas, the salmon, and another dish we didn't order. Salmon was slightly undercooked and both boys wished they had ordered something else. When presented with the bill our server made it a point to note that they didn't charge for the calamari (thanks!) but they did charge us for the dish we didn't order, which was also more expensive. After waiting a while I had to flag someone other than our server down to point out the error, then after another wait I had to flag our waiter to chase down the corrected bill. I actually felt bad for our server, seemed like a nice guy but they had him running all over the place, including making drinks behind the bar. All in all the entire experience was a disjointed mess and the food was meh. It's a convenient place to grab dinner after catching a movie in the nearby theater, but it would be worth the effort to go somewhere else, you'll be glad you did. read more

I went to a casual gathering there, in the banquet room in the back.The event was fun and everyone seemed to enjoy seeing each other again. It was the first part of a 3 day 50th reunion event. About 60 of us paid $10 each to "cover appetizers." We were under the impression that we would get appetizers and happy hour priced drinks from 5-8 PM. The appetizers were almost gone by 6:15 and gone by 6:30. Since the pizza was still good cold, I'm sure they do have very good pizza. And no one got sick. The drink prices went up at 6:00. We could have bought much more food at Prego if we would have just passed a hat ourselves and bought the food from them. And we would have paced the appetizers to last three hours as planned. I did speak to two Prego workers about the discrepancies and was told by both of them to "read your contract." read more
