I was hoping to love this place and add it to our go to restaurants list, driving all the way from San Clemente. Just left on Valentines Day for the most un-amazing experience ever. Had a reservation and the front staff was fine. Table great - quiet, clean with beautiful ambiance. That's where the good ends. My husband's meal - Tiger prawns with lobster and crab was substandard. While the shrimp was perfectly cooked, the crab and lobster were mealy - possibly old, but not good. The wait staff never came by one time to ask to refill water or bread. When they finally came by to ask about our meal, my husband told him that while the shrimp was great, the lobster and crab were mealy. He made an excuse and ran away. Never apologized or asked what he could to make it right. Basically they came by to take our order, drop off food, ask once how meal was and drop off check. We had to stop a passing staffer for Parmesan cheese since it was never offered. Wow! After waiting months to go out to a nice meal because of the pandemic, we were sorely disappointed. Too sad. First time going to Prego. Pretty simple, as my wife and I both had breakfast pizza's and mimosas. The staff was great, attentive without being intrusive. The food was great and though I was full, we brought exactly half of what we bought home with us. This was a great experience. Never been to Prego before. The drinks were fine, his margherita pizza was good, but very disappointed with my pork chops on the special menu. The chops were beautifully cooked and the veg and potato sides were fine but the balsamic sauce absolutely ruined the dish. Less is more! Particularly with sweet sauces. Everything was delicious! Had Prawns added to my crab and avocado salad and they were the biggest and best tasting I have ever had. My Husband had Chicken Marsala and my Sister had the Lobster Stuffed Sole. They both loved their meals and the dessert ...Tres Leche was to die for. Absolutely my favorite dessert. A few days later my brother died in an accident and we needed to have a memorial service for him immediately before his children went back to Florida. Within one day they set up the entire thing for me for 60 people. We had a wonderful buffet and an open bar and they provided everything we needed to play a video, show pictures and had a setup with microphones. It was a great success thanks to Brittany. The chef, Ugo, and the owners are there every time we eat there and greet us. Oh and a shout out to Mellissa for being so friendly and always remembering us and making the best Mai Tai's. Thank you to everyone at Prego for great friendly service, delicious food and perfect ambiance. It's the perfect place for large groups because the acoustics are so good that you can talk and hear easily which is so important to me when picking a restaurant. I have been to Prego Mediterranean twice in the last month the food is delicious the atmosphere is beautiful but what brought me back the second time was the music on the patio there was a band there that plays classic rock music it brought me back in time I will surely be coming back to enjoy the delicious food and atmosphere and most of all to hear the band. read more

Went there on Friday for happy hour. What a disaster. Took me 20 minutes to get a second drink and over a half an hour for my sliders. When I wanted to check out, it took at least 10 minutes, because their computer was slow and they only have 1 hand held check out device for the whole bar! Recently celebrated my birthday with a girlfriend. The service was outstanding, I don't like spicy, so the chef UGO, made a special sauce for my chicken. He even personally served it. The owners Ruth and Tony came by our table and congratulated me and spent time. It is a nice friendly atmosphere, with fabulous food. My girlfriend and I are going back in a few weeks to celebrate her birthday. Also their happy hour in the bar has fantastic prices. read more

Went here Christmas Eve. They had advertised prime rib dinner as their special Christmas Eve dinner. We ordered that. It was a very thin and dry looking piece of meat when it arrived. They didn't provide au jus with it and when we asked for horse radish the waitress seemed puzzled and said she'll try to find some. After about twenty minutes they said they just didn't have horseradish in the restaurant. My meal was cold by this point and had started to look leathery. I had tried to eat it as is but it was so dry, i had trouble swallowing it. I asked if I could have another meal instead. I asked for the halibut. The halibut smelled SO fishy it was difficult to ingest. I HATE to be critical, but please you're running a restaurant and charging a good amount for your service. You're not Norms or Denny's. Bring up the quality of the food especially on Christmas Eve when people expect something special. read more

It deeply saddens me that a place like this calls this Mediterranean/ Italian food and they are able to charge a ridiculous amount for something so tasteless. If you are considering eating here you are better off going to Trader Joe's and buying catchup and pasta and to squeeze the ketchup inside your mouth while taking a bite of pasta. First time we tried the new location since they moved from the airport area. The ambience is exceptional and the restaurant and bar are a pretty big. The covered patio area looks cool and refreshing (it was pretty hot outside that day). We went for Italian food but my wife ended up having the Australian Lamb Chops...OMG...to die for. I ordered the grilled stuffed sole with shrimp and lobster....delicious and really hearty and filling. They have a bunch of specials not published online. Next time we go in I'll have to try the pizza and pasta that looked mouthwatering and why we went there initially lol. I plan to place an order to-go for lasagna next week on the way home. Greg was our waiter and is top notch and attentive. The chef stopped by to chat and was quite entertaining. Next family party we are coming here, great food and service. wow, it's food is better than my imagine. Very good Italian food with special flavors. Food is not too salty, not too cream, not too oily. My stomach is so satisfied after eating. The brunch is not a traditional American style. To me, those food are as same as the regular lunch entrees. Portion is not too big or small. Love it! read more

Value is extremely poor - especially for lunch. I haven't been for dinner but we most likely won't go back considering how expensive lunch was and how little food you get. Meal was decent (flavor wise - nothing great, nothing bad) but nothing special. I got a crab and avocado salad and there was literally shreds of crab, maybe 1 tablespoon total. meh mediocre meal at best here at Prego Mediterranean. This spot took over the Blue Water Grill space at the District and upon entering the restaurant, everything pretty much looks the same haha. they didnt really do much re-decorating or even change the layout at all. got seated right away and service throughout our meal was good. no complaints about it at all. the food was just A-OK status though. started with the calamari which i thought was pretty chewy and didnt taste really that fresh...but at least the bread they serve was nice and warmed. for my meal, i asked the server about the prime rib sandwich and if i could get it well done due to some dietary restrictions - he said no problem so rather than order something else, i trusted him and went with that since im always a sucker for french dip sandwiches. it comes with your choice of truffle fries or side salad - opted for the salad and it was your standard mixed greens salad, tasty but nothing spectacular. as for the sandwich itself, it came out pretty medium-ish with lots of pink still visible. it definitely was not well done which was promised to me - i couldn't even eat it b/c it was too rare for me but didnt want to cause any problems so i just swapped meals with Justin B. he got the lobster ravioli which was ok, again nothing crazy good haha. justin b. said that the sandwich was also mediocre. needless to say that we both left dinner unsatisfied and prob won't be back. read more

I wanted to write a great review but just can't. The food was good as always but the terrible waiter without any common sense skills and unaware of what makes a dining experience pleasurable was completely missed. Once seated our waiter approached the table to ask for a drink order and proceeded to stand there, instead of giving the guest a moment to relax and make up there mind. An awkward silence while we read the menu and had him staring waiting for the order. Dinner order was the same while decisions weren't made he just stood there while my friends husband ordered as he told the waiter she wasn't ready. When the salads came he literally dropped them in front and walked away. We asked a passing coworker for pepper. We asked two times for water and bread twice. Once the bread finally came there was no red sauce so another waiter went and got that. The dinner was brought out by the kitchen, accompanied by fresh pepper. We were there to celebrate 3 birthdays and the front desk acknowledged upon arrival but the waiter asked if we would like cappuccinos or coffee and dessert and since I couldn't speak up as to the surprise that went by the waste side and was missed. When the check came we split the check with $100 in cash and put in the credit card he walked quickly and picked it up and walked towards to front and of course, that was wrong also. We then made change amongst ourselves because we couldn't deal with him any longer. The restaurant was not busy since it just opened but he had plenty of time to shoot the bull with staff and not check on his tables. Worst service ever. We called for a manager and when we described the problems an apology was there but she didn't try to make anything up and offered us her card to call or text her when we come back. It was a big put off. I did text her after we got home but she hasn't replied. Really not my first choice as a place to go with so many options where we live. Love the chef! He is great and hugged as at the end. It's hard to make a restaurant work when they have inexperienced waiters. They need to find better staff to represent this restaurant. read more
