    Braised Short Rib Hash
    Lisa Y.

Prego is an upscale Italian restaurant located at The District at Tustin Legacy. The interior is spacious and classy, but I love eating on their their outdoor patio space! They offer brunch on weekends. We got the Braised Short Rib Hash and the Italian Benedict. The Braised Short Rib Hash has eggs, short rib, breakfast potatoes, and toasted focaccia. The Italian Benedict was unique in that it has San Daniele prosciutto and parmesan hollandaise, on toasted focaccia. Both were tasty, and I would get them again! They also offer an All Day Menu available daily. We got the Cacrciofi Blossoms which are crispy artichokes. It's served with a sriracha aioli. I really enjoyed these! They're battered and fried giving them a nice crunch on the outside, and the artichokes inside are soft and tender. We also got the Rigatoni Carbonara, and it was delicious! It has pancetta, tossed egg yolks, and pecorino with a touch of cream. Highly recommend this dish! Service was great. Everyone was welcoming and attentive.

This was our first visit here. I called and spoke with Christina, who was so very nice. I asked for a seating accommodation and Christine made it happen! When we arrived, I had the pleasure of meeting her and she was so nice. Our server, was Jose and he was excellent! Such a nice man. His timing was perfect. He checked on us frequently, but, was never intrusive. We ordered several items and everything was so delicious. We enjoyed the Meatball appetizer, shrimp salad. lasagna, tiger shrimp gigante and the tres leches cake. We loved everything! Christina and Jose made this a very special evening and we are so grateful!

We popped in here after a movie and sat at the bar. The bartender was super engaged and helpful. He told his name was Izzy. By the end of our dinner, we were chatting with size, and we decided he is one of the main reasons we will come back. He made our whole dinner fun and inviting. The restaurant itself wants to be really nice. It's just regular nice. The furniture and walls are a dark wood. It feels slightly dated. Like something from the 90's. The lighting is a little too bright for the dark steakhouse vibes they are going for. But, we enjoyed it regardless. The food was good for what it is. Nothing blew us away. But it was solid, and the flavors were right. The Caesar dressing on the salad was quality. It had just the right blend of flavors and lots of Parmesan. We got the filet of sole and it was nice and light. The sauce was good. I've had better. But, I liked it. The meatballs were in a great vodka sauce. They were tender. I am really picky about meatballs, and these stood up. We loved meeting some regulars at the bar. Izzy was extremely accommodating, helping us get the channel on the TV for opening night of baseball. This is a good spot. We would definitely come back.

Came for a late lunch and so happy we did. Some of the best food. Kelsey helped us and she had the best recommendations. Tuna tartare and short rib pasta... amazing!! Alan also made an amazing amalfi paloma.

Wine and old fashion at Prego

Our first time at Prego was a success! The ambiance was nice and relaxing, very chill vibe. Our server Kyleigh was very sweet and helpful with suggestions on the menu. I had the Penne Arrabbiata, the sauce was delicious! The portion was very filling as well. We also ordered the Tiger Shrimp Diavola. The pasta was good, but the sauce was on the lighter side. No fault of the chef, this is a matter of preference. I did enjoy the large shrimps and overall the dish was good. For drinks we ordered a glass of wine and an old fashion. Desert, we had the crème Brûlée, it was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Jose was amazing! so attentive and sweet, food was amazing! We came for happy hour it was very peaceful.

Our server Jose is the best! He made sure that we were taken care of and is very attentive! We had such a great experience and definitely going to be coming back because of him!

SERVICE Last night's tall and kind server was the best. He understood I was allergic to cheese and when he said "I got ya!" it made me feel understood, not judged or made to feel like I was a weirdo (side note: I AM weird, ok? Happy now?) AMBIENCE Highly recommend for a romantic date.

    Lobster ravioli

This is nice higher-end Italian restaurant. We've been here a few times and it's usually not full. While it's white cloth, there were a fair number of families with kids. I had the lasagna and asked for a little extra marinara sauce. You can see from one of the pictures that's it's very meaty without any ricotta -- I liked it fine this way, but just be aware of you like ricotta. My wife had the lobster ravioli and it was excellent -- you could definitely taste the delicate rich flavor of the lobster. The crab crochette was not as great -- a bit mushy and not much crab flavor. Service was good and servers were friendly. So, overall, quite good!

    Meatballs and spaghetti

My friend and I came to the District today and had lunch at Prego. Great location and getting there at a little before noon was very easy to get a table. We ordered the staple meatballs and spaghetti and the rigatoni. Both were excellent and good portions as well. Alan was a good waiter as well. It was a bit pricey but totally worth it. I highly recommend eating here if you enjoy Italian food.

Are they any specials on Thursday ? Also do you accommodate 12 people party ( for a birthday)

Hi Janee. On Thursday we offer social hour from 3-6pm and Tequila Thursdays from 4-9pm. We can accommodate groups of 12. Please give us a call and we'd be happy to make that for you.

Is lunch and dinner the same menu, or is there a separate lunch/brunch menu(s) apart from the dinner menu?

    What is cigar Tuesday?

Cigar aficionados could have on Tuesdays only to go to the patio and enjoy cigars with a small tapas menu!

Follow up question: what form of ID is needed for hospitality night (ie I work at an ice cream shop so I don't have any type of ID)?

Hi Pooja, hospitality night is open to all customers. You will not need to show ID.

Do you still do industry night?

Yes, we do! We have Hospitality Night every Wednesday from 4pm-9pm.

Even though it was 6:15 on a Saturday night, we were able to be sat right away. As soon as we walked in, someone greeted us and showed us to our table. Our server immediately got us waters and asked if we wanted anything else to drink (wife and I both got some delicious beers that they had on tap). We had our little one in tow with us and they were so accommodating to him! As soon as we were ready, our server took our order. We got: Chowder "frots" (fries and tots mixed in with some New England clam chowder, bacon, onions, cheese, and other goodies) 10/10, would definitely order again. My wife got the lobster roll with a side of clam chowder. Loaded with lobster, but you do pay the price. Labeled as market price, this was almost $40. Delicious, but not worth it in our opinion. 6.5/10. Pan roast (house specialty which came with shredded crab, shrimp, clams, and muscles). This, topped with rice, was heavenly. Better than any pan roast I've had. Came out ripping hot as it should. My wife was envious of my dish. 10/10 From the kids menu we also ordered the chicken Alfredo. My kid loved it, but my wife and I both had a bite and wow, we would've ordered that for ourselves it was so good. 10/10. We can't wait to come back just for the food. On top of that, however, service was above and beyond. The servers and everyone in the restaurant were so accommodating to us and our child and made us feel so, so welcome. We would come back even if the food was bad, solely for the service we received. Vibes we great, decoration on the walls look like they hired an artist to paint it. They had two TV's behind the bar / prep area that was showing NBA and PGA which I'll never complain about. All around 10/10 experience.

What I experienced was on a whole different level, I might even say this is a "perfect" restaurant; so much better than any other fish restaurant I have ever experienced. We had a reservation for our anniversary, but the table they first offered was not private. We got miffed and spoke with the manager. He moved us to another table which was private. He said something to me that I will always remember, "We are going to make your evening incredible." He did. Our server was John. He was kind, relaxed, attentive and friendly. He immediately brought us the most delicious bread and butter. Our appetizers were shrimp and crowder. Both were very excellent. Unfortunately, one person in our party had a medical issue, but John stayed with us through the whole ordeal. He was so compassionate, sharing a time in his life when things were not so great. His care and kindness were so above and beyond any level of service I have ever experienced. Things improved quickly and our meal came. We had Alaskan Black Cod over soba, the Sea Bass, and I had a two and one quarter pound Lobster! It was a kind of "Oooh" with the sea bass, "Wow" with the Black Cod and "OH MY GOD" when the lobster came. If you have been following me or read my reviews, I can be very harsh and picky when the food is not prepared correctly. This was the best lobster I have ever eaten. The meat was so sweet and fresh. John explained in detail how exactly they prepare the lobster. Great care is taken to preserve that freshness. They gave me every part of the lobster, and I absolutely loved taking my time finding and extracting every ounce of Lobster meat. I love to work and eat at the same time. It was fun. We ended with coffee and dessert. This was an Epic Meal. They spread rose petals on our table for our anniversary. I will never forget the kindness and compassion of John. Beyond Five Stars Definitely the very best restaurant in Orange County.

One thing I really liked was their packaged gloves, I'm guy that always carries food gloves and I was glad that they had their own. One thing I would ask for is for them to check their AC, it was quite hot eating there. Maybe cus we were next to the oven, with the layout of the place. I wish I could try everything but it's seafood, so menu items are still on the pricier side. I struggle with choices but in the end, we opted to try their signature Lobster Roll and Crab Roll.
