Never have I ever had a salesman follow us to our home while purchasing a car to make sure that they get a check from us. Every dealership I have purchased from has always made arrangements with me if I didnt have a check book with me or needed to bring in a spare key for a trade in to come back within the next day or two. Then the finance manager had the nerve to tell my husband if his loan didnt go through he would get a much higher interest rate with a different finance company rudely in a very snarky voice. This was because my husband went through his own bank NFCU instead of allowing the finance manager to pack the deal. Way to make customers feel like criminals. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. 6 months after I purchased a truck from them it is still breaking down. I have brought it to them twice, they said they "fixed it", twice. My family and I were stranded in Oklahoma for days because of a major issue they never fixed. Despite them telling me that they fixed it both times. I will actively steer people away from them. I am a veteran small business owner and this truck was part of my main source of income. The strain and stress it has put on my family and my business has been immense. This dealership will also NEVER call you back. I have probably called to talk to WILSON CHIHUAHUA 30 times in the last few months. I have received 3 call backs in total. Finally I went inside and waited for a few hours to speak to someone in person. This dealer's customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Went to look as full size SUV's, Friday afternoon 24th of May. Hubby works out of country, and was home for a few weeks. Thought we would have a look now together, as I plan to purchase in the next two months. Sammy comes out and is very flat. I said we looked at Ford and I wanted to see the differences in the brands max sizes. He said there's no difference, just brand name..... ok.... then I said well the cargo space looks a little more spacious on the 2018 GMC Yukon SLT than the Ford Expedition Max's we just saw. Then I asked at pricing for new compared to the 2018 ( that looked quite worn for the year). He didn't recall but said he would have to look it up ( and not taking an action to do so). I asked to see the newer vehicle as well as 6.2 engine. He said 'it looks the same', bluntly. I said 'I guess there's no point looking', shocked. Who doesn't want to show a new vehicle when someone asks? He didn't even ask our timeline, names, what brought us out there today, etc. My husband wanted to ask for a manger then and there. We got in the car and moved our car directly across the road at Chevy, where we have a good greeting, details in the newer suburbans, and plans to purchase beginning of July, with card and info from the gentleman that helped us. Same as Ford... apparently Sammy doesn't need to sell cars at GMC. Really was disappointing for what was meant to be an exciting day, doing homework, before my husband deploys again for 8+ months. Bad energy and left awful taste in our mouths. *** I spoke with GM Jerry, very pleasant and apologetic, and we found out the correct name. Welcomed us back, although hubby is leaving soon, so it would be just me. I'm sure if we had met Jerry or another member of staff off the bat, we would have had a better experience. read more

They try to trick you when selling parts. Spent around an hour at the parts department just to get a key fob, charged me 109$ for it which I wouldn't have minded paying that except for the fact the employee didn't mention some vital information about the fact that he did not include the calibration cost nor did he calibrate the key when he disappeared with it for an hour. He sold me the non refundable fob and then right after I signed the receipt he mentioned that it needed to be calibrated (so the key could remotely lock and unlock my car) and in order to do that it would've cost an extra 100$. Again I wouldn't have cared if he mentioned that up front, but the guy was at worst deliberately misleading at best inconsiderate. read more

This review is based off of the brief interaction with Jose in sales & Justin the Lease manager. I went with a friend to return her lease in & upon 1st entering I was not impressed at all. There is someone sitting in the front lobby but will not greet you. Several people walked by & ignored us but then a sales gentleman looked up from his office & came out to greet us, Jose. He was the epitome of professionalism. He checked us in and informed us that he needed to get a manager to assist us. He offered us some water and directed us to have a seat. Minutes later Jose arrived back with his sales manager who all I can say is, meh! He looked like he was dressed more for a club than being a sales manager at a car dealership. If you are familiar with old school class of how a car salesman should present themselves & from this area, think of Sam De Santi's. I definitely was more impressed with Jose. My friend wasn't interested in purchasing a new car at the moment because it was too hot, their showroom did not have AC & she had to get home to her dog. She expressed that she planned to come back at a later date to look for another vehicle. The sales manager asked her if she knew what her residual value was on her lease, she provided her original documentation which he took back to his office. We never heard from him again. Jose however explained that the leasing manager would be finalizing the transaction & would be over to speak with us. Jose continued to give us updates. Within minutes a very professional & friendly leasing manager, Justin came to greet us. He walked over, paperwork in hand so we didn't have to walk over in the heat to the leasing building to finilize the lease paperwork. Within less than 10 minutes we were finished with the process. Initially my friend & I were not impressed with this place at all, especially with the sales manager but after meeting Jose & Justin, the Leasing manager we definitely will give this place a go. My friend did take her Cadillac for service here & said that James in service is the best! Always so helpful, professional & kind. read more

Update: UPDATE: I took my vehicle to North County GMC in Escondido About 30 minutes away. They had my vehicle diagnosed and fixed UNDER WARRANTY within two days. They had to replace the torque converter and they also had to repair Hohens shady "repairs" again. I highly doubt Hoehn GMC replaced or did anything they actually say they did. And if they did they did it wrong because my vehicle was still broke. Carlsbad GMC had my vehicle for almost 4 months, threw a couple parts that had nothing to do with the issue at it, then told me to find somewhere else to get it fixed because they cannot figure it out. All while lying to my face and lying through text. Well I did find another place the GMC dealership 30 minutes away. If you are wise you will make the drive and take your vehicle to North County GMC. Carlsbad hohen Buick GMC is A dealership run by scam artists who will try to take every penny out of your pocket if they can. They are not mechanics they are scam artists. I cannot emphasize this enough. They need to be shut down. And Dan Zohen has no business running anything especially not a service department, the guy is a clueless, rude, clown. read more

I've experienced very poor customer service from the Service agents at Carlsbad GMC. It's almost like they can't be bothered. The agents writing up service requests can hardly look up at the customers. Getting a loaner car is almost impossible. I asked for my service records from Jay and he said he would email them to me. My car was supposed to be done this morning, and it is now 3:00pm and I have left three messages for the service advisor Dan Erickson who has not returned my calls. This is similar to a previous experience I had with the same service advisor. I have now missed two days of work waiting for my car, and I have no idea if it will be ready today. How am I supposed to make arrangements for picking up my kids if I don't get any updates as to why the delay. I would think spending $1,100 would get me some sort of communication, but they know I am at their mercy and just don't have any respect for me or my time. read more

Was on vacation. With my family. I have a 2020 Yukon with 12000 miles on it. Our battery died the day before we were supposed to head back to AZ. After waiting 90 minutes for GMC roadside assistance to offer a jump start, I immediately headed to Premier GMC. I arrived at 5:30 PM on Friday afternoon. I explained my situation and asked if there was anything they could do. The service advisor talked to the service manager and arranged for service first thing Saturday morning. I received a call at 9 AM on Saturday that everything was all set. We were able to get on the road by 10 and got home safely. Thank you so much to the service advisor and service manager for helping us out in a bad situation!! This was incredible customer service, I could not ask for anything more!!! read more

Travis always helps me. I think the customer service here is above and beyond. My SUV's exhaust fan wouldn't turn off while I was visiting in LA and had to take it to the Cadillac dealer there. I have never given a review before, but this lackluster service warrants one. Last year in May I brought in my 2018 Buick Regal Sportback needing a compression ring replaced (under warranty). The team kept changing the delivery dates for parts, would not return my phone calls and did a horrid job with the Executive Complete detail that was thrown in for free because they had my car for almost 8 weeks. Here we are over 6 months later, and I received a bill from Enterprise because the dealership did not pay the car rental bill as they said they would because my work was warrantied. I called this morning, and was told it was going to be difficult to get to the bottom of this because they have a new owner. I am awaiting a call back from a service advisor, but based on my past experience, I am doubtful this will be resolved. read more

When we got there he didn't know who we were, said he kinda knows the rep who referred us, said he was hung over, dropped a couple F bombs, Oh and didn't acknowledge that I (female) was the buyer (basically ignored me and tried to bro it up with my fiance). Took our Escalade in 4 times (FOUR times in the past 2 months) because the back up camera kept going out after they "fixed it" then they finally "replaced it" with a new module. Well it all started August 2022 went for an advertising for gmc truck new demo model purchased truck didn't make it broke down called dealer next day tried to get them to take it back transmission completely gave out only 3000 miles on it after 3 days finagot it to a near by dealer pleaded with dealer to get rental but no had to wait and drive to Carlsbad from west covina to get loaner also truck was transferred to Carlsbad from covina took almost 2 months to get truck back come to find out I was not the first buyer it was sold one time before me and returned that's number one truck should have been sold as used 2 I still had to make my payments and have loaner truck that only I could drive due to insurance regulations from August till now they won't take back truck they fixed the transmission but still gives problems all the dealer says is you have warranty bring it in my truck would never leave the dealership if I did that this truck already meets the lemon law buy back protecal and they won't do it my advice STAY AWAY THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEFS I DON'T RESPECT THIS PLACE read more

My Service representative Dan E has been amazing. After a bad experience with the Escondido location I chose to drive to Carlsbad. Dan immediately greeted me and has been available for every question or concern I have had since. He continually keeps me updated about my vehicles and is very patient when i ask questions. He deserves a corner office with a view, a raise and probably any car on the lot of his choosing. He works just that hard for his customers and I would recommend everyone go see him! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE BUYING OVER THE INTERNET!!! These people are dishonorable and should not be trusted. Here is exactly what happened: I was told by the sale person that because I have a credit rating over 800 that if I filled out their online credit application and accepted their price and terms on a specific vehicle I wanted to buy, that they would hold the car for me until I could drive down the next day from Monrovia CA so I could pay all cash and take possession of the vehicle. Following the instructions, in the morning I filled out the credit app and emailed my acceptance of their price and terms to the sales person who was "helping" me. After waiting an hour and not getting an email response from the sales person, I began calling trying to reach him, ending up leaving several voice messages. I figured, I was safe because the car wasn't on the lot being that it was in the repair shop to remove a large scratch. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to me the car was sold to someone who also saw the car online and being local walked in and signed a contract right out from under me. This was in the afternoon, well after I had emailed my acceptance in writing and submitted my credit app. And guess what that salesman told me when I asked why he didn't get back to me all day in spite of my repeated attempts to reach him? "I was busy on the floor!" Figuring that the company would correct their mistake due to carelessness and set things straight, I went over the whole chain of events with the general sales manage, sending him copies of the emails showing my acceptance with the time stamp on the emails, etc.. Rather than be helpful, this person not only refused to correct their error and make good on their contract with me, but basically told me to go pound sand by indicating that I don't have a legal leg to stand on and welcomed the opportunity to see me in court! If you think I'm making all this up, I will be more than pleased to provide anyone upon request with sufficient documentation to show you how I got screwed by this disreputable company. You might ask, why not take them to court? I contacted my attorney who indicated that the outcome is questionable and I would not be able to get reimbursement for my legal expenses. In other words, it's not worth going after these jerks. So I'm moving on and warning others. read more

What a waste of time- Was telephoned in by salesman "WARD" to make a GMC deal- gave me EXACT numbers and asked me to come down and sign all doc's. I accepted the offer, and drove to Carlsbad 1 hour to get the car...and AFTER signing the contract, was told the office computer messed up and did not add in features..."that'll be another $1599 please!" This is when the dealership deals with this, and does not try to pass on their mistake to their customer! OMG! We counted on getting the car, and lost a similar deal at a different local dealer with 0% financing because we spent the time to accept Hoehn's "deal." ....this dealership took JUST enough of our time so that no deal was made anywhere! Shame on the GMC Manager for not offering any acceptable solution, and any manipulation, and WARD for not making this right or even offering alternatives! Use a calculator people! I will NEVER buy a car in Carlsbad at Hoehn- and do not recommend this dealership to anyone who wants to make a clean deal of any merit. read more

This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I understand that we are in a pandemic and I have them the benefit of the doubt the first time I showed up. The first time I showed up, all the batteries were dead and the sales person had no idea about the Yukon Series and especially the Denali package. The second time, I called an hour and a half in advance and asked them specifically if the batteries were charges and they gave me the "old sales pitch" absolutely, I have everyone here now working and you should come on in. Once I arrived, again I asked about the Denali fully loaded package and the first car he shows me, there is no sunroof or DVD package, he then tells me that he has never seen a Denali like that before and this is a car that's been right in front of his eyes the entire time. He then tells me he will go get the car I requested and drives off. 10 minutes later I see a service man with a charging station go up the ramp to charge the battery of the car I requested. One, and a half hours to change out a battery that is dead. This is a job that requires one wrench. Literally one wrench, to remove two screws, and lift out the old battery, and put the new one in. My company would never stay in business. Think a warranty is worth it? You may not pay for the repair with money, but they sure make you pay with time. Last battery I changed took me 8 minutes in the parking lot of the auto parts store. But hey, at least I don't have to spend the $119.00 for a battery. Oh and I assume $85 for labor that the dealer normally charges... The second star is for the cookies in the lounge. read more

Found a listing for a truck on their website, the pictures of the truck were very unprofessional and the car was dirty but assumed they just got the vehicle and were in a hurry to sell. We also noticed in the pictures that the truck had a possible lift kit installed and there was some damage to the left back rear bumper, that they said would be repaired asap. Our sales person was Kat. Messaged on a Sunday got a response a day later from Kat who said if we pay a $500 deposit they could hold the car for us to go see it in person that weekend because we live in Orange County almost two hours away. Wednesday we received another call from her asking us to pay the $500 asap because there were a lot of people interested and all the repairs would be complete the next day and the car would be detailed and ready to go. So we did, paid $500 and Kat promised they would hold the car for us until the weekend on Saturday. She messaged us back and said she was excited to show us the truck with repairs done and car detailed. Thursday I text Kat asking for pictures of the repairs and information about the possible lift kit that was installed. No answer all day. Friday she calls us to let us know the car won't be ready to go but we can go see the car also she was waiting to hear from her manager about the lift kit. We told her we were not interested in driving two hours away to see the car and that we would like the repairs to be done to the car and detailed as promised. She said it wouldn't be ready until next week sometime. My husband and I had a trip planned with family and told her we would be out of town. She then responded and said we've never held a car for someone this long but they would make an exception for us. Tuesday while we are out of town we message Kat to ask her about how repairs are going and pictures and more information about the lift kit. No reply. Call her in Wednesday. She said she had been out of the office and doesn't have any details about the car and the manager would be calling us. Never received a call or any updates. We let her know our concerns and wanted our deposit back. She said someone from finance would call to refund our money. Thursday, Never received a call from anyone so decided to call the finance person for a refund. He said nobody ever contacted him about our refund and refunded our deposit that same day. Thanks goodness. Also want to note they added about $3,000 to the cost of the car for a windshield warranty and alarm system that we didn't want installed or were interested in. They also wanted to add a $4,000 charge for a warranty for repairs and maintenance on the car. This place was sketchy all around. Do not trust this place. I'm so relieved we didn't move forward in purchasing from them and we got our deposit back. read more

Stop and Read this entire post!!! First of all if you read all my reviews it is rare that I give 1 star to anyone. I try to pick out the positives in everything. Bottom line is this place from the GM of Jerry to the Head of Service Dan is as crooked as crooked can be. They are true rip off artist that just believe in screwing you. They tell you what you want to hear up front and then never follow through. My 2017 GMC truck has been in the shop for service for over 6 months of the 9 months I have owned it. I was told they'd get me a rental truck not car because I needed it for my business. Instead I got a car and they were waiting for enterprise to find one. In the meantime the car was a ford and they were supposed to only rent me a gmc. I was told no problem and all would be fine. Never got a truck to drive and after the entire time of months I got billed over a thousand dollars for a rental car I couldn't even use. They told me again it was taken care of but it obviously wasn't. I was also told since it had been in the shop for so long they would reimburse me for two or three months worth of payments. Guess what? Never saw a dime!!! I was told they were going to put a new engine in because they couldn't figure out the problem. Nope never happened even though they said it was the issue. They replaced just about everything else in the vehicle to again have me wait 6 plus months. Truck came back and broke down again in AZ. Had to get it fixed there. Spoke with the GM who said he'd handle it from here. Guess what 2 phone calls and then ignored the rest. GMC is finally buying it back but took off over $10,000 for mileage. What a joke $.50 a mile approximately. It's a work truck to be driven and used and there vehicle that didn't work became my problem ruined my credit because I chose not to pay the bank for a vehicle that hasn't run or worked because it's been in the shop longer than on the road. They DO NOT STAND BEHIND ANYTHING AND CONTINUOUSLY LIE. GO TO ANY OTHER DEALERSHIP. North County is a thousand times better. This review is for Tani Ayotte. My wife and I met Tani when we went to look at the Hoehn GMC/Buick/Cadillac lot to check out SUV's. Not only was Tani super helpful and great at making us feel comfortable, but we felt like we were talking to a normal, genuine person rather than some over aggressive salesman just trying to make a sale. Before we left Tani said that if we found a vehicle on another Hoehn lot she could assist with that discussion despite losing out on a sale from her lot. To add to everything I had mentioned to Tani that I worked for a local non profit and she generously offered to provide me with some contacts of people who may be interested in supporting our mission... Again bc she is just a genuine person not bc we had any intention of purchasing from her. My wife and I ended up wanting to purchase a vehicle from another Hoehn lot, but had no doubt we were going to go through Tani. She helped us make the connection and get a really great deal on the vehicle we wanted. We highly recommend if you're in the market for a car stop in and see her first. She makes the experience really comfortable, simple, and pressure free. In the end she wants you to be happy no matter what you choose and bc Hoehn owns several lots, she can help make that happen.
