My experience with Premier has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. For context, I'm a solo mom. My husband was murdered in May 2020, and at the time we were planning this pool together. That makes this experience even more painful and personal. In the beginning, things seemed promising. Scott, the salesperson, was responsive and personable. At one point, he told me the owner wanted to "do something special" after seeing my story on social media. I never asked for that, never brought up my circumstances, and nothing ever came of it. Looking back, it feels more like a sales tactic than a genuine gesture. Before construction began, I was told by the city there were multiple options for addressing an abandoned pipeline easement on my property. However, on excavation day, with a full crew already on site, I was told by Jason that the only option was complete removal at a cost of $6,400. I felt pressured into making an expensive same-day decision after receiving conflicting information throughout the process. The pool depth also ended up different than expected because key measurement details were never clearly explained. The biggest issue has been the PebbleTec finish. From day one it was visibly uneven, blotchy, sparse, and discolored in multiple areas. I reported these concerns immediately with Shelley and was told to wait several months, but nothing improved. A pool light that was clearly included on my plans was also never installed. After initially being told it couldn't be corrected, I had to repeatedly escalate the issue before Keith agreed to drain the pool and install the light. They did add an additional light for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, during that drain, Premier's crew left dirt and mud inside the empty pool. The mud dried onto the fresh PebbleTec surface, causing additional staining and discoloration. I was later told by Keith after he inspected my pool along side me that the issues could simply be "spot treated," which is not acceptable for a new build. Now, after months of documenting concerns that were present from day one, I am being told the PebbleTec issues are caused by pool chemistry and scale buildup. These defects were reported immediately after startup and did not develop over time. Additional problems included chipped travertine, sloppy concrete work around umbrella sleeves, construction debris left throughout my yard, delayed reimbursement for an agreed-upon water bill, and an AquaLink system that continues to malfunction. To make matters worse, I was asked to make my final payment before the project was actually complete, despite outstanding issues that remain unresolved. What disappoints me most is the pattern of poor communication, lack of accountability, repeated excuses, and attempts to shift responsibility rather than resolve legitimate concerns. I do not recommend Premier. I would give zero stars if I could and will be pursuing formal escalation of these issues. read more

We were really happy with the whole process, the professionalism and price. Our initial fears were being abandoned halfway through , after they had us "on the hook." That never happened. Scott Fowkes did an awesome plan, Michelle an awesome project manager, Jason handled the construction aspects well, and Shelly handled the end of constitution follow-ups. What a great team! This has been my 3rd pool since moving to Arizona and by far the worst experience. Zero or false communications be prepared to email or call yourself for any updates. No quality control, no process to verify installing correct tile. If you leave instructions like come to front door first the notes never seem to make it to the front line. Plumbing done incorrectly, tile quality was worse I have seen. Had to fix the grout myself after 3rd call back. The price was right but not worth the experience. read more

Our family took our time in deciding to install a pool, we received bids from 4 different companies and took 6 months to select Matt Ovard and Premier Pools and we could not have asked for a better experience!! They were not the cheapest or most expensive but their attention to detail in the design and transparency in the estimate made them stand above the rest. After selecting Premier Pools we didn't sign our contract for another 2 years because we were still finalizing our decision. This whole time Matt was patient and friendly, there anytime we had any questions or concerns and tweaking our design anytime we requested without trying to pressure us. When we finally started the construction process Bryant our construction supervisor was added to the team and both Matt and Bryant were there throughout the whole process answering any questions and resolving any issues I brought up. All of the different subcontractors used throughout the process were top quality and we never felt like they were cutting any corners. The final product looks just like the model we created and revised during the design process and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out!! Even now that the pool is complete I can call Matt with any questions or concerns even on Sundays! I have and will continue to recommendation Matt and Premier Pools to all of my friends and neighbors!! From start to finish we felt like we were dealing with close friends and even now after we are done it still feels that way!! I bought a new build home and was looking to immediately get my backyard done with a pool and entertainment area. And so, I contacted several different pool companies and ended up choosing Premier pools. The reason was simple, Dirk was very friendly when we met at the house and I enjoyed the design process at the office. It was my first time doing a landscape and pool project this big and I knew there would be headaches and pain points that my friends warned me about. However, dirk and the entire staff did a great job communicating each step of the process and answered all my questions and concerns in a timely manner. As the project neared the end, Dirk came by to check on the progress and ensure everything was to my liking and I appreciated that. I am enjoying my pool and entertainment area done by Premier Pools, definitely worth the investment! read more

LISTEN TO 1 STAR REVIEWS...THERE ARE MULTIPLE FOR A REASON!!! We had high hopes when hiring this company to build a pool for our property--but unfortunately, the experience has been plagued with unresolved problems and a complete lack of accountability. Despite many attempts to get support from the company, the following issues have been ignored: Only 2 of 3 scuppers work as designed. Bubblers fail to stay on and are basically non-functional. The autofill system is so loud and was installed directly in front of the main door, causing constant disruption. The tile (which I questioned during install) has suffered serious calcium buildup, and nothing has been done about it. They simply used cheap material even though we paid for the best. The new landscape wasn't cared for even though they agreed to since I wasn't moving in yet. When brought to their attention they stated its past warranty and left me with the costly burden to replace. Even company representatives acknowledged some of these problems, but no corrective action has been taken, of course because they have been paid in full now. This company has failed to deliver the quality, service, and responsiveness that were promised. Proceed with caution or honestly just take your business somewhere else. read more

Our designer was great to work with, helped us choose everything to look great in the end and adjusted to us wanting to add a hot tub pad and electricity ran to it. However, they definitely have crews that are unprofessional and not up to standards, in most cases doing the bare minimum so be prepared to be your own project manager, take photos, follow up and never sleep throughout the process. At the initial demo, the crew forgot to take a whole side yard of bushes that would be turf and forgot to demo a section of the bbq area. They cut into existing travertine in the wrong spot, thankfully we were home and ran out as soon as we noticed, but it left a large slice int the existing travertine. Nothing was marked as far as where to cut or what to remove and leave. I would imagine they would spray paint, flag or otherwise instruct the crews as there are so many coming and going. The deck crew forgot to build the wall around equipment, and when they were instructed to come back, they started building it the wrong direction to where we'd see it from the pool vs. hiding it. Again, thankfully we were home to see this and stop them in time. The same crew was instructed to leave a sleeve underground for drip system but completely buried it under the equipment wall, leaving us to drill through the wall to get drip system around it. On a step down from the deck, stucco was a dark grey next to the light travertine and we were originally told it would be a cost to us to paint or tile it, until we did our walkthrough and explained there is no reason we would assume it would be dark grey or anything other than matching the rest. They then agreed they should paint the same color as the equipment wall. At the final clean up, they were "in a rush and forgot the extra hose that would have taken water to the street" so they emptied rain and dirt water to the side yard that doesn't have anywhere to drain and were told they're sorry but there's nothing they can do except wait for it to eventually drain/ dry out. It was left muddy and covered existing decorative rock with remnants of concrete & dust that was pumped out of the pool. The pebble tec guys almost did the same. They almost dumped blue pebble water into the side yard because they couldn't find the drain in the front yard, which we found ourselves. They also left blue water in our decorative rock, blue handprints on the walls, blue and grey concrete on the pillars which we had to paint over ourselves. They forgot / missed a lot of rock piles that had originally came out of the ground, but made sure to take away the rock we needed to keep and had to buy so much more of after the project was done. Then one of the biggest things was that when you go choose turf in the beginning, be sure you take a photo of what you're ordering front and back with the labels. Thankfully I did because our deck crew came and installed turf that was rough and dark and when we looked at the scraps we noticed the backing was black. The one we chose had white backing and blades of grass were clearly different. We asked the manufacturer directly and they assured me it was not their turf the crew installed. The crew also confirmed they just throw down whatever they have in the truck and it's always the same so you're not actually getting what you chose and paid for. By the time they were able to come back, they were clearly mad about getting caught using cheap turf to pocket the money because they threw sand all over inside our newly filled pool, left more than 10 nails hidden in various places sticking up for someone to step on (luckily, we're meticulously checking work after it's finished and found most of them first.) The process altogether is dirty and a huge mess for a while, which we expected to a degree. Keep in mind you won't have regular yard cleanup with so much dirt, but you also will have extra mess with the crews so you'll have to do a lot of this on your own. If you have any drip being ripped out, you're watering every other day for 3+ months. All of this to say, we now have the backyard pool of our dreams, it turned out beautiful...but I am so grateful I had the time to be home and act as our own project manager during this process. read more

Fence installed wrong because they measured short. Once again had to redo. Areas of fence show where paint was missed 4. Artificial grass installed without weed barrier. I wish I could give them more stars. They started out with a 5/5. It quickly started chipping away and they end with a 2/5. The finished product is great, BUT it is only great because I was forced to manage the project every step of the way. It would take weeks to get workers onsite. I would then come home from work and what they did was done wrong. (For example, framing! I am no contractor but just looking at the framing, you can tell right away it was not right.) I would have to take pictures and tell the contractor. He would come out to confirm it and another week would go by before it got fixed. Our tiny 8x16ft pool turned into a 4+ month project because of all of the mistakes. No one double-checks the job site after each phase is completed, and I suspect that it is because they overload their contractors with projects so they can't keep up with the workload. But, when you point these issues out with management, they are very quick to blame the contractor. Communication issues? Blame the contractor. Scheduling delays? Blame the contractor. Speaking of scheduling... Premier Pools is so afraid of people holding them to the fire if their 3rd party contractors don't show up on a specific day that they don't tell customer ANYTHING regarding scheduling. We have a dog, and when I tried asking Premier to give us a possible range of dates that people may show up for each phase so we can coordinate our dog situation they refused. We'd wake up one morning and have random workers in our backyard! We would have hurry up and block the dog door. It was extremely stressful and a horrible way to start a morning for 4+ months straight. Premier Pools likes to think that they are great with communication because they have rigged their system to send out canned email blasts to customers on what "could" happen next on the pool project. The thing is about these canned emails is that it is not customized to the customer. There is a lot of unnecessary information provided that does not apply to MY project in the email. So the novel-sized email ends up hiding pertinent details that DO apply to me that I end up missing. My pool project included a firepot on our waterfall. Because of COVID, the pot is on a boat circling a harbor somewhere. Totally understandable; I get it. We are in a crazy time right now. My issue came when I got an email from Premier Pools with a subject line "Congratulations" you project is done with a link to a survey on how they did. Ummm, my project is NOT done. You still owe me a firepot. And you want me to take a survey? At this point, they have ALL of my money and I have nothing that I can use to ensure I get my firepot installed. My grandfather is rolling in his grave right now. He taught me better. After pointing this out in my survey, one of their team members wrote back appalled that I would ever question their integrity with a million apologies that I feel so unhappy with them, spouting off that "no one is perfect." She also casually jabbed the contractor again for the lack of communication. read more

Ryan did an excellent job of designing our pool and communicating throughout the process. While it took a little longer than anticipated to finish, the end result is amazing and Drew the Construction Manager was always very responsive and courteous. This is my third pool built by Premier (2 in California and this one in Cave Creek) and I would absolutely recommend them for the price and service. They were about 20% lower than the other two bids I got and had a better quality in regards to equipment and an outstanding warranty. (As an FYI regarding the Pergola in the photos, they didn't install it) Finally a word of advise to those that have never built a pool before - they aren't cheap and a $20K-25K pool is NOT going to be what you think it is so expect to be well over $35K especially if you want a water feature. When they paint the pool on the ground in your yard make sure it is EXACTLY where you want it because that is where the hole will be dug - if the pool ends up in the wrong spot that's on you for signing off on the placement. Expect that it will take longer than expected because sub contractors are not very reliable and the weather NEVER cooperates. read more

Company lies an awful lot about even miniscule things. They did not ever hook up the pool leveler system. They did not remove all dirt from excavation. They never demonstrated how to use the equipment. Thier electricians are absolutely horrible. They try to up charge on the install. Would not recommend at all. read more

Do not use Premier Pools. They get 2 stars and not 1 because I ended up with a pretty good looking pool, but I believe most pool companies given 3 months could do the same job. It was just such a massive headache for a large percentage of the build and the complete lack of customer service/care from most of their staff including the owner. Below is a copy/paste of the exact email I sent to the owner/manager of the location which lists all the problems I had and who I worked with/spoke to. An email that I sent on July 9th, and finally received a response on Aug 8, which I will include a picture of (along with a few pictures of the messes they left me with). I was told email was quickest way of getting ahold of him and no one ever mentioned him out of town. But asking for it did get things moving, within 10 minutes of requesting his contact I got a response from 3 different people (not the owner)... Ps- I really hope nothing further needs done on my pool, as leaving such an honest negative review may lead to even worse customer service (if possible) in the future if repairs are needed.... Hello Ryan, I recently had our pool "finished" by your company. Along the way, some problems arose, and while many were taken care of, I am having a hard time with getting some final items finished. For instance, during the rebar installation, a hole was punched into the wall of our home. It has been approximately 10 weeks (or more) since then that I have been asking for it to be fixed. It still is not. The most pressing, a week ago I noticed what looks like a significant leak in our water feature. I let both our construction manager Ish, as well as Caitlin in your office know the next day. Beside me asking them about it again, I have not heard anything on when this will be fixed, or even when someone will be out to look at it. So not only is our water feature completely unusable, but I'm also waiting to finish the surrounding landscaping with no idea when the area will be cleared. I was also disappointed with the way my yard around the pool was left when construction was finished. Piles of dirt and sand left all over. Shotcrete, dirt, and scrapes all over the surrounding walls. Boxes, hoses, other garbage that I had to ask to be removed as an employee was leaving. Our sales person Abe, the one time he was out at our property, said there would be a final cleanup. There was not, even after I asked Ish about if that was going to happen. This is mostly cleaned up now by myself, due to needing it done and not getting any answer. Speaking of Abe, I'll briefly mention a few things. Such as him quoting us 6-8 week timeline, and it immediately turning into 10-12 weeks after we signed our contract (sales tactic?). The fact our pool was dug 2 feet deeper into our yard than what we wanted because he never came to the property to properly measure the area (we wanted it 3ft from the wall, it ended up being 5ft). Completely dropping all communication with us after asking him to come out and give us an accurate measurement/cost of our turf addition. (For further... we asked to add turf, he gave us a price that didn't make sense so I asked him to come and measure to insure it was correct. He came out on June 4th, said he would contact us shortly with an updated plan with correct measurement and cost. I never heard back from him about that or anything else since.) At this point I would just like the leak fixed ASAP, and the other 2 items I mentioned to Ish and Caitlin (the rebar hole and the block that was pulled off our wall by the interior installation) taken care of. This has got to be the worst pool/landscaping company I have ever worked with and I work in the real estate industry where I constantly use different vendors. Like most people that had pools builts around COVID, it took forever... however, the "sub contractors" they had come out to do our tile work (which had to be redone a couple of times) included a child that was putting on tile. They forgot to install irrigation on one side of our yard and finally when they go around to doing it, they didn't do it correctly, it didn't come with an automatic timer... the other areas did but it didn't? Funny enough those sprinklers that we don't even use, because they're manual, are leaking and there was only a one year warranty on the irrigation system. I have NEVER heard of such a short warranty for an irrigation system. The artificial turf had to be redone four times because of all the horrible cuts that were very noticeable. They've had to have the owner come out and fix the pool equipment, they had to drain the pool to fix the poor craftsman ship of the tile on the step (so, yes, we got the pleasure of filling up the pool twice - super fun), and this company came with a few months of pool weekly pool service... well, once that was up we took the water to get tested and was told the pool needed to be drained... it was only four months old at this point! The built-in BBQ area had to be re-wired by an actual electrician (not sure who they used before), the drawers for the BBQ area were installed without tracks and just left like that. This company is a joke and I strongly advised you take your money elsewhere. read more

Lindsey and her team were great to work with. They were upfront with the timeline for my pool installation and were pretty spot on. Every worker that helped build my pool were accommodating and kind, I enjoyed watching the building process, they were gracious when I asked questions or just stood behind them to watch. After several quotes from different pool companies we really liked the transparency we experienced with Lindsay who helped bring our vision to life. She helped us design and stay within the budget we were working with as we had separate plans for landscaping, pool gate and hardscaping that was done separately from our pool build. She kept us updated on timeframes for the project, (we went in knowing it was going to be longer due to COVID after-effects, sub-contractor scheduling, unknown factors thanks to her transparency). She regularly checked in to see if we had any questions or concerns (which was great as they were answered or corrected before it was too late) and offered guidance and referrals. While it was a long process, we felt confident in our choice to go with Premier Pools and they delivered a great pool. read more

After visiting several home shows and getting pool designs from several contractors we went with Premier, and we are very satisfied with that choice. First off, the sales person, Joe Merenda, actually listened to our ideas, unlike sales reps from several other companies. He then took these ideas along with some of his own and came up with a design that knocked our socks off. His design was far and away the best design of all those we considered. This was a large project, as we had a heated spa, heated pool, walls, fire pots, water features, and complete pergola and extensive travertine paving work done, so the project went about 4 months. The construction supervisors were (for the most part) on top of things, and this ensured a quality result. Like any large construction project there were some minor things (cracked tile, etc.) that needed attention but the supervisor followed up and made sure that they were taken care of promptly. The overall quality is very good, resort quality, and has literally made our backyard an oasis. Kudos to Joe and the Premier team, we couldn't be happier with the results. read more

As expected, we have had numerous issues with our pool since it was completed. Scheduling for warranty work is atrocious; typically, it takes ages for someone to arrive. Our pool has been unusable for weeks now waiting on a repair. I don't even understand how this company can stay in business. read more

I don't know about past ownership or experiences. I just know Premier did and exceptionally great job installing our pool. This is our 5th pool so we knew what to expect. It costs money if you want free form, salt water, self-cleaning and all the other bells and whistles. We can't be happier and invite anyone that wants to see a finished product and pictures of the install along the way to come see this creation. They listened to our desires and concerns and worked within our physical and economic constraints to build the perfect pool for the backyard of our new home. Abraham, the designer, provided great advice and suggested changes and a few options that we would never have thought of ourselves. The entire team was very responsive throughout the process and addressed all concerns quickly and efficiently. The tile-work and landscaping around the pool are top-notch and really add to the ambiance. We just finished filling the pool and can't wait for summer! read more

Purchased a pool from Premier a couple of years ago. Without going into great detail, it was a struggle from start to finish. Recently thought about installing a hot tube. Decided to give Premier another chance. Called Premier to get a quote. The receptionist said that Ryan (the owner) will call you back to discuss. It is now 13 days since my initial phone call and still waiting on a return phone call. Don't know why I thought the service would be any better. Shame on me! read more

Interesting company. One very talented and "get it done" kind of guy, Ryan, made our backyard into a beautiful creation. But the company, suffers from horrid communication skills. Once they have all of your money they don't seem to be interested in getting the job done and finishing things. It's a damn shame, because our backyard is 3 1/2 months late from being completed, but it is absolutely gorgeous. So it's a flat out double edge sword. Yes they have people who are talented. They had 17 different subcontractors build our pool and backyard decking. But, we would go for (without exaggeration) three weeks without anybody coming to the job, to work. As a result, the job That was stated would be done by the end of the year if not by Christmas of 2018, is still not completed and it's March 18th, 2019. They demanded remainder of their payment in full when they plastered the pool about a month or two ago,. Ever since then they've virtually disappeared from the face of the earth. I can't get hardly anyone in the company to respond to a text or telephone call. Yes pretty frustrating. We started the build in October, 2018. Do the math. Worst experience of my life dealing with Premire Pools and Spa. Called numerous times to speak with the owner and never received a call back at all. Was told my pool would take 12-16 weeks because of Covid which we were fine with. 9 months later it was done. Was charged $7500 extra for a hard dig and was told up front that a hard dig would not be more than $5000. They also screwed up my plumbing and when I called them on it they did nothing to fix it. The pool does not turn on 1/2 the time because their wireless systems sucks. I had to manage this pool the entire time because their Foreman never came by. I called and asked when the plumbers were going to start and they said that they had no idea when the plumbers were coming. I get home 15 min after this call and the plumbers are in my backyard working. They never put my gate back up so we couldn't let our dog loose in the backyard for 9 months. Do not use this company. We could not be more pleased with the service and our new gorgeous pool. Premier uses excellent contractors and our salesman Joe Merenda was fantastic! He continually checked in with us and made the entire experience amazing! The scheduler Jen is awesome, and Shelby their project manager/designer. So happy!!!
