Came here with my mom for lunch and I loved it. This place is so cute inside and the food is amazing. We took a few pastries home, and I definitely will be coming back to get more. I do love this place. It is very clean and modern. The food is consistently great. The servers are so nice. The only thing is to be prepared for a long wait. It took us almost 20 minutes to get our latte and almost 40 minutes to get our food. I do keep coming back for the food and atmosphere, so I never complain about the wait. My son talked me into checking out the Gilbert P&P because of their incredible Biscuits and Gravy. I make the best country sausage gravy, but my son insisted their recipe rivals mine. So I reluctantly went with him. Unfortunately, we had a mishap with the Chef and I was unable to give their gravy a fair shot. For the Chef's incompetence I would have given the establishment less than 1 star. However, Kimberly (The Manager) stepped in and displayed the most incredible customer service, almost blocking the door until her kindness had me willing to give the place another shot. Our waitress was friendly, competent and apologetic for the Chef's inabilities. Short of his faults, the ambiance, pastry display and speciality coffees makes the Gilbert P&P a place where I will return. Thank you Kimberly! read more

Recently visited Gilbert location . Very spacious/light environment. We visited close to lunch, so breakfast rush was over . First - love their blueberry/sage scones . Our server was great - quick with order/water refills . Ordered the prickly pear mimosa as a treat -- it's refreshing . But it's also $9 - so you decide . We had a grilled cheese/soup and shakshuka. Love the soup - nice velvety tomato bisque. Shakshuka was good except ordered with turkey sausage - almost non existent. It's nice addition to downtown Gilbert . We waited 15 mins for table - when we got seated 6 tables were open . I get the table clearing/prep process. Hostess station never acknowledged that it seemed tables were just sitting open . read more

Another bizarre experience here, with slow service just like the previous time, and the staff throwing each other under the bus regarding who's to blame for the service blunders. The food was fine just like we predicted it would be, but smaller portions than I remember, especially for the price. The Cure French toast certainly sounds exotic, but once you scrape away the lemon glaze and berries and look at what seems to be regular syrup, a person realizes they've paid way too much for plain ol' French toast you could get anywhere at half the price; the Return of the Mac (hah!) was fine, but small, hence my snickering. We had to get our own straws and to-go boxes because apparently those kind of requests must require some sort of deliberation within the staff. Also, a party that arrived after us got served before us, and another table sat piled with food remnants and dirty dishes for the duration of our visit - I wonder who was to blame for that, but I'm sure they'd all just point fingers at each other :-| read more

This was the second time I have been to this location. I have also been to another location once before. Every time has been delicious! It's usually pretty busy, but we did not have to wait long. Friendly servers and nice atmosphere. My only complaint is the acoustics... It gets pretty loud. The food is worth it though! read more

We had a great experience a year ago when we went to Prep and Pastry, so I requested to go there again for my birthday for brunch. It was not the same. The wait staff was horrible. We were at the bar and 3 of the staff were talking together and ignoring us. We hadn't even gotten to order yet even though they were right in front of us. We had to interrupt them to ask to put an order in. When we did, the server turned away from us to put the order into the console as we were talking. We would ask questions or he would ask us questions but he would face the console and we couldn't hear him. I had to ask multiple times what he said. After our order was in, he gave me my latter with no syrup in it and completely forgot my boyfriend's black coffee. He had to remind him. When he would give things to us he just set them down in front of us and not look at us or say anything. It was so rude. We got our food and he never said anything again to us even though he was in front of us the whole time. My boyfriend ordered biscuits and gravy and the gravy was congealed and the whole dish was cold. I ordered the cure French toast and that was the only thing during this experience that was good. The food was really good. The French toast with the chicken and toast had rosemary on it and it was fabulous! So, so good. The chicken was good but way TOO salty. Why do restaurants over salt? You can add salt at the table if you need more. My company had pancakes and the chickpea bowl. They said both were delicious. I had an iced coffee latte, which was so so. I wouldn't reorder. I have been to both Tucson locations, multiple times and this was just as good. I have been to the Scottsdale location three times and it is AWFUL. Both the service and the food. The service here was good. Not overly friendly but efficient. The main problem I see, is it is difficult to find. All on our party were looking for it and the signage wasn't obvious to any of us. read more

Prep and pastry was very quaint. The ambiance was very busy brunch spot like with very kind servers, amazing smells, cute photo opportunities, and a patio. Bakery was made fresh that day, and I think every day. As well as their food, I believe the server told us that it was a scratch kitchen. The food tastes were well balanced. Service was good. Sat at the bar. Ladies were friendly. Asked the waitress what type of chicken comes with the biscuits and gravy because I didn't want boneless processed chicken. She assured me it wasn't. My order came and bingo it was boneless rubbery processed chicken. Had to use a knife to cut it which is bad. The biscuits were good but the chicken I would definitely not recommend. It was sad. I didn't finish the chicken and they still charged me $7 for that add on. Over all glad I came in and tried the restaurant. Won't be back their price point is too high for the quality produced. They have some work to do on their culinary skills. read more

We've been to both Tucson locations and they were great. Sadly, this locations service and food were terrible. The biscuits were flat and hard as a rock, and maybe leftover from two weeks ago. The Poblano Beni should've had poached eggs, but they were hard instead. The bartender that brought us our drinks spilled our bloody mary's all over the floor, our menus and table, and said be right back to clean it up. She never returned and my husband had to go to the bar and get napkins to clean up her mess. The server clearly hated his job and was very inattentive. We won't be back to this location. read more
