A good spot to get brunch in Tucson. They have a wide variety of savory, sweet, breakfast, and lunch options including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I've been here occasionally since they first opened (I worked at the original one and this one) and usually have a great experience -- great service and great tasting food. The whole experience was very good! Out waitress I believe her name was Madison, she was very sweet and did her job well. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. I loved how the biscuits had herbs and cheddar inside them, gave it more flavor! My girlfriend loved her omelette as well. We came around 10:30am and it was a tad busy but not bad and the flow of the workers seemed relaxed and not rushed at all. We will definitely be back again. Also, very clean inside and outside. This is a great brekkie spot in Tucson with a nice outdoor patio seating option that is dog friendly or there is indoor seating. They have two locations and this one has a large parking lot attached. It does get very busy on the weekends, so that does slow down the service a bit which can be hit or miss. Had the simple breakfast and the all hail the omelette which were both really good. The worst ever! Ordered 2 french toast orders. They brought 4 huge hunks of dry white bread, obviously no egg or batter, old pieces of berries scattered on our plates. When asked if we were good, complained that this was just all huge hunks of bread. Waiter said yeh, it's pretty dry. We each had a small cup of warm coffee. Bill came & again we let him know how awful it was & we both left most. No apologies. $40 plus change. Will tell everyone we know & we eat out frequently!! Visiting from Los Angeles for the first time, we were recommended Prep & Pastry for brunch by a local and were blown away by the incredible experience--thanks in large part to our server, Austin! Was visiting Tucson and stopped here one morning with my fiance. Our waiter asked if it was our first time there, he gave us a free mint chocolate pastry, was a delicious surprise! So, the place is actually a great place to come! The food is amazing and the service is just as good. Every time I come here the food and service is amazing! I have yet to have something in the menu that isn't delicious! My favorite dish is the duck confit. I've had the burgers here and they are delicious! You wouldn't consider this place to have good burgers but they do! Their simple breakfast is simple, but delicious. Pancakes are large, filling and delicious! Not to mention their pastries are legit! They have a great berry filled donut that is so good!! Don't forget about the biscuits and gravy! I could go on, but I don't believe there is something on the menu that isn't good. If you're wondering why, if I like this place so much, this place doesn't get a higher review or more stars. Well, my biggest issue with this place are the chairs. They have concrete floors at this place and the chairs are metal. So when someone moves the chairs it literally is like nails on a chalkboard. I really wish this place would do something about it. The food is just okay to me and very expensive for the portions given. I tried the monte cristo and it was supposed to be french toast bread but it was not. Came for lunch on a Sunday around 12 noon and we're seated immediately. Our table ordered the cast-iron duck confit and shakshuka. Both were absolutely delicious. The duck confit was a combination of amazing flavors: braised duck, goat cheese, potatoes, tomatoes, and eggs. The shakshuka was also delicious with a mild to moderate kick. The confit just had so many different complex flavors that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately the portion size was quite small - I think it should be increased by 50%. When we got there last Wednesday (9/27) there were only a few tables full. As we sat down, we were asked what we wanted to drink. The person who asked was not the person who came back with the drinks. I got coffee. The original person then came back and asked if we knew what we wanted and we ordered. Our food was out in 8 minutes but again was dropped off by someone else. The omelet was good (which is why this is getting 2 stars and not 1) but the potatoes were cold. No one came to check on us in the time that we were there. They never offered to refill our drinks and when we were ready to leave I asked a different person for a to-go box because I could not find our person. It then dawned on me at the time of the check, the manager on duty was running our section and when she came to pick up my card, I never was given a check. She was even on her phone when she picked up my card. I was floored. Now I'm not sure why we were treated that way but it was really uncomfortable to sit there and wait for now a fourth person to return my card to me. I also did something I have not done in at least 15 years, I left no tip. I tried to call the next day to talk to someone about my experience but never got a call back. I always prefer to do that before coming on to Yelp but now it's been an additional 5 days with no call to rectify. So, here we are. Additionally, The location is beautiful but the parking lot is small so be prepared to have your parking skills set at level 10. read more

The best part of hiking different areas, is finding different restaurants. The reviews speak for themselves! Trust the Yelpies. We were greeted and sat immediately. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Each wait staff was super friendly and attentive. Always smiling. They work really well together. Your glass will never go empty. And they pay attention to details. Like if a glass is out of place on a table as they walk by, they adjust it. The owners/managers should be very proud. They are sitting on a gold mine with staff, while the majority of their peers are still struggling. The menu 1 page. But their is something for everyone. There are GF options. There are healthy options. Beef, pork. The menu is uniquely creative. I had the sweet potato hash. It was perfectly prepared. The spinach was fresh and unwilted upon delivery. The flavors worked great together and they didn't overcook the sweet potato. They will cook the egg per the description on the menu unless you request something else. Oh boy! I really wanted to like this place, especially seeing the reviews. We were done hiking for the morning and we're very hungry for a great breakfast. We were promptly greeted and seated. The server came to visit us shortly thereafter, and quickly brought us coffee. That's when it all fell apart. We enjoyed our coffee, and then after about 10 minutes I started looking around. Many parties sitting around us were doing the same , waiting. After about fifteen more minutes, no communication? No more coffee, I went to the bar and asked for more coffee. The person I asked, was gracious and brought it over, and our food followed shortly thereafter. BUT, the food was not remarkable and from My husbands perspective: sloppy, too much unsavory sauce. It was completely unpleasant. No flavor, just style. I'll also mention that when I went up to the bar, another woman came up beside me to inquire about what was taking so long. I was brought to this restaurant by relatives. I was looking forward to brunch that morning. I arrived there 90 minutes before I needed to leave for the airport. The server took 25 minutes to take our order. He was informed that at that point I had 40 minutes until I had to leave. I ordered an entrée that did not need to be cooked. Everybody else at my table were served their cooked dishes after 30 min. I never received my salmon toast with salad. The server and busier found it amusing when I complained that I was about to have to eat airport food because they couldn't get my simple order together. I tasted the eggs... They were tasteless. French toast is French toast. All of the pastries are covered in sugar. There are too many good brunch places in Tucson to even consider ever going to this place. read more

We know this place is popping in Scottsdale, so we decided to try it out when we were in Tucson. There was no wait (which already is better than the Scottsdale location) and we were seated near the bar in the back so we felt secluded away from the main part of the restaurant - which is a positive, don't get me wrong. I had my mind on the pb&j toast but the server told us the chef's special for the day and I was sold on that instead - it was an orange honeycomb french toast. I don't really prefer french toast as my brunch meal, but this was by far the best french toast I'd ever had! It was thick, fluffy, and so so flavorful. The cream tasted like both honey and orange - simply spectacular. The bestie got the everything croissant sammie with avocado in place of the prosciutto. It was enormous but she loved both the sandwich and the side of potatoes. On to the pastries! The selection was much larger at this location versus the Scottsdale location. I got the blackberry thyme donut since I was craving a donut and the bestie got the cinnamon role - both were immaculate. I was confused when I had taken several bites and there was no filling but turns out there was filling; it was just placed at the opposite end of the part I bit into lol. The food here is always tasty, I've tried several menu items but my favorite is still the cast iron duck confit hash. They also have daily rotating pastries that are always very good. I'm not a huge fan of the atmosphere though. The tables feel close together and the place is fairly loud. Patio seating is uncovered and the patio is exposed to the parking lot so there's no privacy really and it's pretty noisy. That being said, this is a solid brunch spot. It's relatively trendy but has a homie feel. If Chip and Joanna Gaines made a restaurant in tucson, it would look and feel like this. Service - the service was top notch. Everyone in the Resturant was helpful and treated me as if I was their table. I probably had 5 different people wait on me for the 75-90 minutes our party was there. Pro tip: there isn't a lot of parking in the front. So be prepared to go to the back, behind the restaurant. Pro tip: if you come one hour before close, there is a chance you can get a free pastry.
