    Beautiful dining room.

The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. The ambiance was perfect. Loved the music. Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong what's not to love?

I had the Borsao red with the Berry Pasta Tagliatelle with Lite Alfredo Sauce , Fresh Strawberries & Shaved Asiago and a bit of bread with olive oil. I had this pasta dish 10 years ago and just was ecstatic when I found it on the menu again. I remember it with blackberries. The strawberries were not the best flavor/sweetness wise but they were adequate, but the pasta and the special Alfredo sauce were delicious and worth the price. I also enjoyed the wine the bartender recommended, and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Oysters were all amazing. The hangar steak was very tender and flavorful with great mashed potatoes and green beans. David was a very good waiter. Ambiance was lovely.

The table had an umbrella, so we were able to enjoy the outdoors without being in the sun. We ordered the Cobb Salad ($20) and Red Rice and Hemp Burger ($15) with a side salad instead of fries (additional $2 for the salad). The Cobb salad was very good. Large portion with big chunks of moist chicken. The salad was fresh and tasty. Italian dressing was good. The "Hemp" Burger was a new one on me, but essentially i understand it is a rice-based burger with Hemp seeds for protein. It comes in a large bun with caramelized onion and bbq sauce. I liked it. It has a mild flavor, the patty is pretty soft and the combination of flavors was very pleasant. The "side" salad was large and very fresh. I enjoyed the vinaigrette very much. Unfortunately, our server went AWOL after dropping off our food. We had a question and he wasn't around. My water glass was empty and no sight. My partner's water glass was empty for a while and - I kept looking around - but no sighting. I finally did something I hate to do, which is to call over another server, but we both were thirsty and needed something to drink. That server was very nice and promptly came over with a water pitcher for us. The bad service really wrecked what was otherwise a good meal in a nice atmosphere. So, here's the thing. I considered giving 3 stars for this review based on the service. (We actually thought the server had quit - it was ridiculous - the place wasn't crowded at all.). But, the other servers in the area were working really hard and one did come over quickly to help out, so I'm going to hope for the best. I do want to send a message in this review to the restaurant that this did leave a bad feeling. I doubt we'll be back. Too bad.

There's a lot of potential here, but when your wagyu burger costs more than Le Diplomate's iconic burger in DC, I'm expecting something amazing. Every ingredient was very seasoned on its own, but when combined, the burger was overwhelmingly salty. I could barely taste anything besides salt. The cocktails were also overly sweet, and I regrettably had to send them back a couple of times. That said, our waiter's service was excellent. But this place needs a lot of improvement. Way too salty, too greasy, and overpriced.

After that was settled we were taken to our seats and the place was pretty much empty! Why sweat us about the reservation when they could've sat us anywhere? Not to mention that my friend is a frequent patron of their casino so it would seem that we'd probably get a warmer greeting especially given how empty the restaurant was. Regarding the meal, I probably need to try some of their other meals because what I got was just average. The waitress brought us bread and butter to start. The bread had an odd consistency, as it didn't hold together well. It may have been the type of bread, so no biggie. For an appetizer I got the French Onion Soup, which was decent, although I have had better and cheaper French Onion Soup before. For dinner, I got the Pan Seared Scallops (at $46 for four!) and they were in spanish chorizo, corn, lime wedge, cream, cilantro, and serrano chili. I was not a huge fan. I've had much larger and tastier scallops (and cheaper, too) that weren't in such an odd-tasting presentation. The restaurant itself was pretty cool with the clothing of Hollywood Stars from some of their movies in glass cases around the restaurant. The wait staff was very good. I think overall the restaurant has a lot of potential but, in my mind, is way overpriced for what you get. $10 per scallop is pretty ridiculous no matter where you are.
