We had their smoked salmon spread ( came with big slices of cucumber and assorted crackers) ..very good, not too smokey. Crispy fried shrimp and crab bites....oh myyyyy Forgot to take a pic before we ate them. I got the entree house salad with grilled shrimp and balsamic dressing..... couldn't finish it it was so big.....and the shrimp were perfect. The food was good, and the price was reasonable, particularly the prix fixed that mom chose. The place was empty, so we didn't wait at all for our meal. I had some time to kill before meeting friends for dinner-and The Shrimp Boat was right there, smiling at me, with a big parking lot and glam light fixtures, winking through the windows. Heck yeah, I'm in. I didn't go any farther than the bar-couldn't be tempted to stay too long, eat too much and miss my friends. So I stayed up front-where there are three large high top tables and at-the-bar seating. I didn't wait but a second before someone brought menus. There were some fun happy hour (on a Saturday afternoon at 4:30) options. The sweet bartender recommended the cucumber gimlet. Sold! It was so delish, I had a second one... and ordered the calamari. It came in a flash-and I liked the addition of banana peppers. That combo was surprisingly good... and the dish was very filling. As good as all that was, I have to give even higher praise to the service. Everything came so quickly and the bartender, Fallon, is amazing. I wanted my first review of 2022 to be 5 stars. It took me 4 tries to hit my goal, The Shrimp Boat Grill delivered. The inside is cozy and the smells were inviting. They had a private party on the patio so I sat inside. My server was excellent and gave me great food descriptions when I asked about their special prefixe menu. I selected the tuna fish dip with crackers and cucumbers, the bacon jam salmon and peanut butter mud pie for dessert. Amazing is the only word for the tuna dip. Creamy fresh and flavorful. Next time I will ask for different crackers, the seeds in them reminded me of sand, so I used the fresh baked bread they gave me and cucumbers as a compliment. I wasnt sure about the bacon jam salmon with brussel sprouts with whipped potatoes, however, my waitress assured me it was amazing. This is one of the best dishes I have eaten in awhile. The bacon jam added a unique, light, flavor and was crisp on the outside of the salmon which was still moist on the inside. The roasted brussels sprouts should be an appetizer and the potatoes were well seasoned and creamy. She brought me the dessert to go which was great. They have a happy hour that covers beer,wine and drinks which is nice, if you like watermelon try the martini. I have another favorite salmon place and and it's close to my house, so 2022 is off to an amazing food start. read more

After dropping my daughter off at a friends house in Brandon, my wife and I found ourselves with a rare Friday night date opportunity. Hungry, we specifically were looking for a restaurant with outdoor seating and happened upon the Shrimp Boat Grill. My better half recalled eating at their original location on Causeway Blvd with her co-workers, so we decided to give it a try. With no wait time, we were quickly seated outside by a friendly hostess. A recent rain storm had made our tables and chairs slightly damp, but they were wiped down and dried quickly. There was ample room for us to space out by ourselves and enjoy the evening. I am a fan of dark beers and I was glad to see that there was a nice selection of some of my favorites. My beau, who is much more refined than I am, ordered a glass of red wine. Not to be a Karen, but it took an epically long time for our drinks to arrive. While waiting for our drinks, we were able to keep our hunger at bay with some fresh baked Hawaiian style dinner rolls. Deliciously crunchy and smothered in butter, I wanted more, but knew better than to fill my belly before the main course. There were so many things that I wanted to order from the menu, but I ultimately decided on the Seafood Alfredo. Trust me when I say it was an excellent choice. The enormous sea scallops were seared to absolute perfection and were bathed in a creamy Alfredo sauce that was littered with shrimp and broccoli. Cheese was literally dripping from my fork with each bite, much to the dismay of my hardening arteries. My wife ordered the Shrimp Boats "3 Course Pre-Fixe" meal that offers an appetizer, an entree and a dessert for $21. She decided on the Crispy Crab and Shrimp Bites for the appetizer. The concoction was much like a hush puppy and crab cake mash up, served up with a "Chic Fil A" or fry type dipping sauce. "It's good", she proclaimed. She chose the Chateaubriand, cooked medium rare, as her appetizer. Another great choice. Served high atop a mountain of fresh mashed potatoes and brown gravy, it did not disappoint. In an attempt to quell my ever-extending waistline, I typically do not eat dessert food, but I did agree to share a few bites of Carrot Cake with my wife to make her feel better about the extra calories. Happy wife, happy life. Right? Moist and delicious, I'm pretty sure that I ate most of it. To sum up our visit, it was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was quick, the drinks were not. We had a nice experience and we'll be back again some day. read more

Not a good experience on Thanksgiving. My husband and I ordered the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, and it was terrible! Some kind of bland turkey loaf,and it was difficult to determine what the other items on our plates were. They were a salty, yucky mess. We did recognize the mashed potatoes, which tasted okay. We have been coming to Shrimp Boat since it was at the other location and it was one of our most favorite places that we would rave about! We haven't really been out to eat a whole lot with prices increasing left and right but decided to head over to our favorite place. We were seated right away, got our drinks quickly and ordered quickly. We started with the smoked fish dip and that I would not recommend. We ate it but it was seriously lacking. My husband and I ordered the stuffed flounder with a side. This was one of our regular things we used to order and it wasn't as good as we remembered but still yummy. Hubby ordered the 4 cheese macaroni as a side and it was good but wouldn't order again. My side was the au gratin potatoes and they were just cheesy potatoes. I would guess they maybe used the same cheese as the macaroni for the potatoes. Kids both got chicken tenders and baked potato and were happy. Like I said it's not the same as it used to taste but this would also depend on who was the kitchen. Still one of our faves!! read more

I went on a Friday night with my family. Was seated right away and I would strongly suggest seating in the patio area. Very nice ambience and stays pretty chill in there; bring a sweater if you get cold easily. The server gave exceptional service providing the specials for the night and the other deals on their meals . He even knew the details of ingredients and portions for most dishes. Service was pretty quick but not too quick tho. The entrees and drinks were delicious especially the strawberry lemonade. Will definitely go back even alone. Had a great experience here! Came with some family little later on a Friday evening, and thankfully we were able to be seated right away. Our waiter was super friendly, funny, and helpful, and got us set up for a lovely dinner. All of us ordered from the prix fixe menu, it's a great deal and allows you to try an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. I started out with the tuna dip. I liked it, but I should've gotten the fried shrimp bites that other at the table got. The fried bites came with this delicious and slightly spicy sauce. For my entree I got the Charleston style salmon. It was a little sweeter than I was anticipating but I enjoyed it. A lot of the table got the chateaubriand and they spoke very highly of it. Selected this location for a surprise birthday party. The manager Sharon was very accommodating. Our servers Fallon and Tanya were attentive Ann's friendly. The space was a bit warm. I didn't anticipate the afternoon heat on the enclosed patio. Still the setting was perfect for our event. There were no complaints about the food. Everything was tasty and freshly prepared. Our party of 30+ was sat at 12:30. Eating appetizers by 1 and was out of the space by 3. This includes a full program while we ate. The room res fee was $100 and I got it back at the end of the event. Can't beat it and will continue to patronize this establishment! read more

Husband and I came here for lunch after church. We came in around 1pm we were sat immediately. Our hostess was Sam, very attentive and told us about the specials. She bought out bread looked almost to have been made there. That was really good the top had some sort of Italian seasoning. We started with the shrimp ans crab bites...these were À-maz-ing. Full of pieces of crab and shrimp..highly recommend. For lunch my husband had the shrimp and grits...we were so surprised of how tasty and how much shrimp came with the meal. Only negative was it could have been a little bit hotter. I had the grilled chicken sandwich which had cheese , bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. I was a little disappointed that there was no type of condiment on the sandwich but the hand cut fries were good. Came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Party of 4. Instantly seated. We were given both menu options for lunch and dinner. Decided to try the lunch menu options. I had the shrimp and grits. It came with about 7 shrimp over a bed of cheesy bacon grits and a lobster sauce on the side to drizzle on top. It was filling! I couldn't eat it all so i ended up taking it to go. My husband Had the fried mahi sandwich which had a large portion for the filet. He said it was was pretty good! I took a bite of it and thought it could use some more seasoning. We love the food here and we go atleast once or twice a month but I will never go back again. The experience I had there last week was horrible and even my 13 yr old noticed how differently we were being treated as the only colored customers out of the 3 tables the waiter had. He was rude and never tried to speak with us even when we tried to be so nice. He was kissing everyone else's behind so hard. He seemed pissed when my son asked for another piece of bread but ready to serve up everything for other tables even without asking. Pros: I like the pre-fixe menu, makes it easier to just choose and food was decent.. happy hour was also a bonus until 6:30. Cons: ambience wasn't there for us (reminds me more of a dinner feel with a heftier price tag) and service without a smile.. Our server seem like he definitely did not want to be there and was pretty much rushing us to make our orders and didn't really want us to ask about sides or anything like.. when asked what are the vegetables of the day or inquiring about other sides .. seem annoyed that we even asked.. I would recommend this place if you don't care for much ambience on a Friday and don't mind paying a little more for dinner-like atmosphere... and if you are lucky- may get a better server with a smile.. we been here a couple of times and seems to be the norm with their servers, annoyed to be there.. the food carriers are definitely nicer than their servers. read more

What a pleasant surprise this little gem was to find! So, I ordered the special that included the app, entree and dessert for $24. Great deal! I chose the lobster bisque for my app which was not sweet (a good thing) and had big chunks of lobster! No skimping here!! For my entree, I chose the salmon with mashed potatoes (reds) and charred brussel sprouts, Beautiful presentation! Drumroll: my dessert was homemade key lime pie. The server said all their desserts are homemade. For this reason alone-I will be back! My Mr. ordered the grilled shrimp on shrimp fried rice. He loved it! The side salad was very generous. I visited Shrimp Boat Grill for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Signs throughout the restaurant make it clear to everyone that masks are enforced at all times other than eating. Which I'm sure many appreciate. We were greeted by a very friendly host. And sat immediately, as it was a fairly quiet day. Our server was very delightful and attentive. I ordered the mahi-mahi with shrimp, cilantro lime rice and French fries. The food came fast. They are not shy with portion size and it was delicious! Full of flavor and came pipping hot.
