What I ordered.
Ashley M.

The 3 stars is for the customer service ONLY. So I was visiting Houston and this place was open late night. I was craving some pasta. It looked good on DoorDash so I ordered the food was just OK. The pasta was decent. The soup was absolute trash and the salad was a salad the reason I gave this restaurant Customer Service a three star was because there was a mixup with my DoorDash order and I was double charged and never received my first order and when I called to have the situation rectified the young man that answered the phone was very kind and patient and helped me get my issue resolved. The food was good, but it was way overpriced, especially for the portions.

Good customer service, nice lengthy menu. Order margarita pizza 10', fresh ingredients. Also ordered chicken piccata but first place they do it with cream sauce instead of lemon butter, Will keep your glass full, Ordered a salad but nothing g special and plenty of decor to give the Italian feeling. Shall return to try lasagne

Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly welcoming staff. The garlic bread was 10/10. My husband got the prima peperone and I got the chicken parmesan pizza. So good!

Had lunch here today. Small quaint italian spot. The restaurant and staff were great. Had the LA Bravura and it was delicious. With a side salad as it sounded good.

Food was absolutely delicious!!!!!! The place was absolutely beautiful! The servers were super nice and friendly!!!

Pasta was yummy

Absolutely amazing! I honestly didn't have high expectations walking in here, but the service was good, the food was great, music was great, ambiance amazing!

Calamari

Makes me so sad but this is genuinely some of the worst food I've ever eaten. The calamari tasted like straight corn starch. All the pastas were somehow flavorless and also very gross

We have driven past Prima Pasta too many times to count, but had not tried it until friends suggested going there for a group lunch. What a great recommendation! Our large party was warmly greeted by the owner and staff upon arrival and escorted to a long table for lunch. Questions were ably and courteously answered by waitstaff. As a warning, the portions are very generous. My husband and I ordered a grande Caesar Salad to start, and it was huge. We ended up taking half of it home to eat for dinner. Hubby ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs, and the Marinara Sauce was one of the best we have found in Houston. The pasta was perfectly Al Dente, and the meatballs were savory and herbaceous. We ended up taking most of it home. I couldn't decide what to order, so I opted for the Antipasti appetizer which offered Sampler, which featured meatballs, Italian Sausage, Marinara Sauce, Chicken Parmagiana, Sauteed Vegetables and Shrimp Scampi. We split the Antipasti and had no room to eat the pasta dish, so it made 2 lovely dinners the next evening. We will definitely come back and try some of the other menu options.

Great old school neighborhood Italian. No anise in meatballs (I hate anise). Extensive menu. Highly recommend.

The staff is super friendly, and we were welcomed as we were (we had hoped to eat at a sister establishment but they sold out of what we wanted). Mimo's offers a great selection of Italian inspired apps, three well appointed pizzas, a few varied and surprising options for pasta dishes, and some mains. Items we tried: Pane - delicious Roasted Carrot Pizza - AMAZING, A little spicy, but definitely something we would order again. Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. But to each his own. Overall - really great. Would recommend. This would be great for a weeknight dinner or an off the beaten path date night.

We chose patio seating, which was nice because the interior is quite dim -- although I now have 7 mosquito bites. I overall thought the food was good but nothing was stellar. We ordered the house salad and Capicola, which was a mistake because flavor-wise they were nearly identical, the main difference being that the Capicola had meat. Both salads were well done and had a nice balance of flavor and freshness. I really enjoyed the fish -- lightly salted, nutty, and crispy -- but I added the lemon it came with, which made it bitter. The rigatoni was creamy and cheesy. It was a solid pasta, nothing out of the ordinary but still enjoyable. Mimo is the type of place I would visit if I lived nearby.

The fresh red pepper offered at the table really kicked the flavor up a notch. Beet salad (8/10)- nice presentation. The fried cheese, tomatoes & candied pecans are a great complement to the beets and greens. Add the fresh cracked black pepper offered by the server. Seafood lasagna (8/10) - the seafood is not lacking! Its very seafood-forward. Salmon, shrimp, clams. You definitely know you are eating seafood. The cheese/seafood/pasta/sauce ratio is spot on, well balanced. It felt more like a seafood dish than a lasagna/pasta dish. My only complaint (and it's not really a negative) is I was in the mood for lasagna & after eating this dish, although it was very good, I still had a hankering for lasagna. Other: - Service in general was good. It was a slow day during my Sunday afternoon visit. - Bathrooms were well kept & had cool big mirrors in the hallway upon exiting the bathroom. - Parking in the attached garage is free. I would return again.

The flavor was good, but because they were small and folded in on themselves, they held a lot of the oil. The oil did taste fresh though. Eggplant parm (small plate): 3/5 most cheese and very little eggplant. The flavor was good. My waitress told me it came with noodles but then no noodles came out. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert, and nowhere on the menu did it mention that it was served with a slice of kiwi hidden underneath the whipped cream. I'm allergic to kiwi, and because it was completely covered, I didn't realize it was there until after I had already taken a bite. I brought this to our server's attention, not because I was looking for a discount or anything free, but simply because I wanted the staff to be aware so this wouldn't happen to another customer with a food allergy. Instead, the first response I received was asking if I had read the menu, which I had. Unfortunately, the menu never mentioned kiwi being part of the dessert. What really bothered me was overhearing the conversation afterward. Our server spoke with another staff member a few booths away, and I heard comments along the lines of, "Well, he should've mentioned his allergy," and "He should've asked." It felt like the responsibility was being placed entirely on me rather than acknowledging that an undisclosed ingredient had been served. I understand that customers with allergies should communicate them whenever possible, but I also think restaurants have a responsibility to disclose ingredients that aren't typically expected, especially when they're hidden in the presentation. I've had tiramisu many times and have never encountered one served with kiwi tucked beneath whipped cream. Again, the food itself was good, and this review isn't about trying to get compensation. I genuinely wanted to help prevent a similar situation for someone else. Unfortunately, the way my concern was handled left me feeling dismissed and caused me to lose confidence in the restaurant's approach to food allergies.
