My sisters, niece and I stopped in for dinner, which was fine. Just fine. Everybody enjoyed their meals, but nothing truly phenomenal. I'm willing to visit again, just to see if it's just me or...

What should have been a great night quickly turned into a multiple day nightmare. I recently moved from Houston and came back for a women's conference with my church. I was really looking forward to sitting down for a nice dinner with two of my girlfriends, so I intentionally chose this restaurant after seeing great reviews on Find Me Gluten Free. I reviewed the menu ahead of time and clearly communicated my gluten allergy with our server before ordering. After getting my drink and right before my meal came out, I was brought bread that I was told was gluten free. Later, another staff member came out and again mentioned gluten free bread, which immediately made me question what I had already eaten. When I asked for clarification, it turned out I had been given the wrong bread. (Took almost ten minutes for an answer, I knew something was wrong as I already started to bloat. Thankfully I had shared and only had eaten one slice.) I got sick. I tried to eat my meal the next day since I had it boxed up, but it was extremely bland and I couldn't even finish it. I do want to acknowledge that Adrian, our server, was great and very attentive. Andrea, one of the managers, was also kind in her approach. Bo was okay. But the way this situation was handled is where everything went downhill. When my friend initially spoke with management as I was in the bathroom she was told they are "not in the business of compensating meals." I ended up calling Naveen from "corporate", who said I would ultimately receive a refund and to text him the last 4 of my card number. During that same call, I was also told that people with gluten issues are usually more careful, which was frustrating to hear considering I had already taken multiple precautions. It has now been several days and I still have not received the refund. They did bring out a dessert I didn't ask for and a shot of tequila to help my stomach, but that does not fix being given the wrong food when you have a dietary restriction. At this point, it is not even about the $40. It is about accountability. If you are going to label your restaurant as gluten friendly, you need to take that seriously, because for some of us, it directly impacts our health. If issues happen it should be on the restaurant to remedy not for the guest to feel they did something wrong especially when I was more than understanding. I even asked to speak to Bo outside privately as I had previously not been there to the conversation.

Last time i was at Candelari's was before Covid. I had fond memories of good food and service. Sorry to say on this visit I was a bit underwhelmed. Tried hard to like it but the whole experience seemed off. My wife and I stopped in for a quick happy hour before a wine class at Total Wine next door. We asked to sit at the bar and studied the menu and had to ask if there was a happy hour menu. Our bartender seemed like a nice enough fellow but when asked to start off with ice water he proceeds to give us the hard sell on some fancy sparkling mineral water. He goes on and on how it's the best and we must try it. No. We explain we're there for a short time to go to a class next door. We're not table-side we're at the bar! Politely, we say no and ask for two old-fashions. We ask what bourbon or rye they use. Happy with the answer, the bartender adds "would you like to make them smoked old fashions?". No. "We mean the happy hour old fashion on the bar menu." He says, "oh the happy hour menu, that one is made with Jim Beam". I am worn out. We settle on a having a happy hour snack of calamari & shrimp and to our surprise what we got did not meet our expectations. It was tasty but disappointing for the price. If we ever go again i think it may be safer to grab the $25 deal for pizza and a bottle of wine. Kudos to the nice younger bartender that actually stopped to talk to us numerous times, refill our water, and close our $45 check.

Presumptuous and entitled!! We eat here several times a month. Food is consistently good and service is adequate. Last night glass of wine did not arrive until well into the meal. What took me aback was a closer look at their tipping structure. Starts at 20%! Wow! Presumptuous.

    Fantastic Lasagna !!!

My last couple visits were great. The Lasagna, Bolognese Pasta and Thin Crust Mushroom n Sausage Pizza were all very delicious, well-seasoned, juicy and fresh. The lasagna and bolognese were doughy and nicely savory with great tomato sauces, cheeses and ground meat. I requested the lasagna to be given in either a bowl or dish, bc I don't like the skillets where they can come out too hot n too runny. The pizza was crispy with a great, coal-fired crust, just enough cheese, great sauce and great, tasty toppings. I don't usually get pork on pizza, but this was for sharing later. Great mushrooms and the ground sausage was very good with a spicy aroma to it, not just full of too much fennel like some Italian places. Great, welcoming, efficient service.

We had excellent service (Megan) and food when dining in the late afternoon on a recent Tuesday. The restaurant has nice ambience - patio looks delightful once it cools off. Enjoyed a cheese pizza (loaded with cheese) Tagliatelle Bolognese and Shrimp Bianca Cappellini. The meals were full of flavor, the shrimp were amazing (and large) and the bolognese hearty. Will definitely return to Candelari's and recommend it to others!

    Pistachio Affogato

Pistachio Affogato, classic Italian dessert, made by drowning cold pistachio gelato in hot espresso. Excellent! Not on the menu. Just ask your server.

great service and great food! loved it and will be going back. my server was super nice

We went to dinner here after a work event just to get a few apps to fill us up, we ordered calamari and shrimp and literally got 2 average, at best, sized fried shrimp, a few tiny calamari, and the rest basically crumbs. Nothing fancy at all, your average fried shrimp, and it was 18 dollars!!!!! Keep in mind you can get a full pasta dish/meal for 20-25 dollars. I asked the waiter if this was the normal amount and we were told yeah it's basically just two fried shrimp. At the end of the day it's not the end of the world, but felt like a literal scam. Our waiter was sweet and after the meal did offer to cover it but since we ate the 2 shrimp, we paid for it. I never leave negative reviews or say things at restaurants to complain, but we basically just ended up eating our other apps and then leaving because we were so annoyed.

10 out of 10. Pizza was so good and fresh. Our waitress Julia was really sweet and even though there was a little hiccup with out pizza, the manager Bo was so gracious and corrected it immediately. Loved and will return.

When I'm craving Italian food, Candelari's is my go-to place. I appreciate the courteous and friendly service and timeliness as well. The interior has a warmth that is really inviting. The food is always tasty, such as the pizzas, meatballs and short rib ravioli. Though my favorite dish is the shrimp fettuccine alfredo! The sauce is perfect and smooth, while the pasta is soft and delicate. Prefect comfort food!

We came here as a family of four on a Saturday evening around 6 pm. It looked like an almost full house but we were able to be seated quickly. The staff was very friendly and we were greeted several times. Our server was patient with us with ordering and keeping us updated on the progress of our entrees. We got the Salmone, Shrimp Bianca Cappellini and Alfredo Fettuccine with chicken for the kids to share with a side of seasonal grilled vegetables. Everything was so delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly and was tender. The cappellini is a hearty dish with a lot of sauce so a bread/breadstick would have been nice to dip in but the grilled vegetables were a good addition to balance the meal. The kids also enjoyed their fettuccine & the chicken was cooked well. The dining area was spacious and we didn't feel too close to any other tables. We sat close to the restroom and bar which was fine. The women's restroom was clean. Overall, the food was delicious, service was great and it felt family friendly!

The lighting and atmosphere was perfect for a quaint date night. And I want to know what jazz playlist they were playing because it was great. What blew it out of the water was the service, particularly by the owner himself. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, having the owner on the floor is almost never seen. But this man was working all jobs: helping the hostess when she got super busy, food running, bussing, checking up on all tables, doing the best for everyone. Plus, he was incredibly kind with an amazing smile. Idk what he saw in my partner and I, but he gave us tiramisu on the house. We are not fancy influencers or rich folk, and I feel that was kinda obvious. But I think he did it just to make our date night a lil bit more special. And that kind of effort should be rewarded.

I've had Mimo on my radar for a couple of years, but somehow I never found the right occasion to finally give it a try. Well, celebrating both my birthday and wedding anniversary seemed like a pretty good reason! I must say, Mimo had to fight hard to earn those five stars. The experience was memorable, not necessarily because it was perfect, but because it wasn't. The imperfections, oddly enough, are what made it memorable. Let's start with the menu. There aren't many dishes, which is generally speaking a good sign these days. There's really no excuse not to use fresh ingredients when you're working with a smaller menu. At the same time, I wouldn't say the offerings were particularly adventurous. That said, the quality was definitely there. We started with the Fritter as an appetizer, and it was super delicious. The combination of fried zucchini, corn, and that touch of honey somehow really worked! Then we ordered a pasta dish each, under the common assumption that a pasta dish in most Italian restaurants (including the ones in Italy) is supposed to be filling. Well... no! These were pretty small. I ordered the spaghetti al limone, while my wife went for the gnocchi. Both were good, although the spaghetti were cooked somewhere on the borderline between al dente and chewy. The corn in the gnocchi also felt a little alien, like it didn't really belong there. Still, we couldn't deny that the flavors were good and the ingredients were fresh. Oddly enough, we were still hungry, so we ordered a second dish each: the Pork Milanese for me and the Pesce del Giorno for my wife. And this is where Mimo saved the day! The Pork Milanese, with mortadella and pecorino cheese on top, was delicious. And the polenta that came with my wife's dish was one of the best I've ever had. Interestingly, these dishes were disproportionately larger, more than making up for the minuscule portions of the pasta dishes. So, I guess it all worked out in the end! Another date saver was the service. It was outstanding. Attentive, friendly, and exactly what you would expect from a restaurant trying to create a special experience. Then came dessert: the Zeppole. It was good, but nothing particularly special. To me, it tasted like churros made with a dough that incorporated ricotta. Not bad at all, just not something I'll be dreaming about later. And that was our experience at Mimo! I think the review probably benefited from the fact that I was there celebrating a special occasion. It was a somewhat strange experience, with some ups and downs, but we genuinely enjoyed it. Would I be back? Possibly... Four stars stretched to five? Yeah... FIVE Stars!

Mimo's offers a great selection of Italian inspired apps, three well appointed pizzas, a few varied and surprising options for pasta dishes, and some mains. Items we tried: Pane - delicious Roasted Carrot Pizza - AMAZING, A little spicy, but definitely something we would order again. Pastas we ordered initially came out cold - our incredible waiter immediately corrected the issue. But from a flavor profile - Pansotti - sooooo delicious. You'd never guess that it was a vegetarian option - the mushrooms were so meaty. The delicate pouches with the spinach and ricotta were heavenly. Pappardelle - The lamb braised sauce had a depth of flavor that could rival any restaurant in Italy. My only tiny hope was that the pasta would have been served aldente, it was a little overcooked. But to each his own. Overall - really great. Would recommend. This would be great for a weeknight dinner or an off the beaten path date night.

We arrived on a Friday evening during Happy Hour (HH) around 5:30pm. Maurizio stopped by to introduce himself and let us know that he would ensure we were taken care of. As stated above, it was happy hour during our time there but we ordered from allllll the menus haha! Check out the eats below: -Fried Shrimp -Chicken Parm Sliders -Tuna Tartare -Brussels Sprouts -Aperitivo Sliders -Bottle of Wine + Pizza (x2) ~Pepperoni Pizza ~Chicken Alfredo Pizza Bottles of the Sparkling and Rose - these are the bottles we selected based on their Social Hour menu bottle of wine & pizza deal for 35 dollars! Great deal! The experience was great, there were many waiters and waitresses stopping by the table to check in on us. The food was fresh, flavorful, and piping hot! The views are lovely and the ambiance is a combination of chill, chic, and relaxing. Very vibey and spacious place. The restrooms are really nice as well and they were clean and stocked. Aperitivo is definitely on my list of places to return to, especially for happy hour. It's worth it to check this place out!

I have been twice and regret not ordering the pizza on my second visit. We had the Wellington bites, mozzerella sticks, steak frites, truffle fries (no truffle), caesar salad and pizza. We gave everything 2-3 stars and the pizza 4 stars. Definitely recommend taking advantage of pizza and a bottle of wine on Thursday nights for $40. The mix cocktails are on the sweeter side so either stick to wine or straight up tequila.

We arrived at the restaurant at noon and it was completely empty - but in all fairness they only opened at 11. We were a party of 6 and all ordered something different. I chose the 25th Street Pasta which was very unique & very delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their selected items. The portions were on the larger side in my opinion but not extreme. The bread & oil they serve was also amazing. Sadly we were all too stuffed to try desert but certainly will next time. This is definitely a "don't judge the place by the location" because it was a delicious dining experience. Our server was attentive & accommodating, the prices were very reasonable for the portion size, incredible quality and freshness. If you are looking for a new fav spot don't miss this one.

We ordered the tiramisu for dessert, and nowhere on the menu did it mention that it was served with a slice of kiwi hidden underneath the whipped cream. I'm allergic to kiwi, and because it was completely covered, I didn't realize it was there until after I had already taken a bite. I brought this to our server's attention, not because I was looking for a discount or anything free, but simply because I wanted the staff to be aware so this wouldn't happen to another customer with a food allergy. Instead, the first response I received was asking if I had read the menu, which I had. Unfortunately, the menu never mentioned kiwi being part of the dessert. What really bothered me was overhearing the conversation afterward. Our server spoke with another staff member a few booths away, and I heard comments along the lines of, "Well, he should've mentioned his allergy," and "He should've asked." It felt like the responsibility was being placed entirely on me rather than acknowledging that an undisclosed ingredient had been served. I understand that customers with allergies should communicate them whenever possible, but I also think restaurants have a responsibility to disclose ingredients that aren't typically expected, especially when they're hidden in the presentation. I've had tiramisu many times and have never encountered one served with kiwi tucked beneath whipped cream. Again, the food itself was good, and this review isn't about trying to get compensation. I genuinely wanted to help prevent a similar situation for someone else. Unfortunately, the way my concern was handled left me feeling dismissed and caused me to lose confidence in the restaurant's approach to food allergies.
