Even with an early reservation on a Saturday evening and other tables available, the hostess tried to seat our party of two couples at the table right outside the bathroom/kitchen (Sorry I can't remember which door it was). She wasn't happy when we rejected the table. Sorry, I am not going to pay $100/pp at a steakhouse and sit practically in the bathroom/kitchen. She then sat us in the back room at a booth. Although there is a cushion, it is like 1/8" thick an if you want to stay 1.5-2 hours enjoying your food and company, it is extremely uncomfortable. As for the food, my fries and steak were unremarkable, dessert - mediocre. Given that Redmond hates car owners, drive to Belleuve for a better Steakhouse. read more

Been here twice now, and shared my thoughts with my wife about our recent dinner. Our shared experience is about the same. Atmosphere - a bit loud in the main area, but the rear seating was quiet enough to have causal conversation with friends without having to raise our voices. Very nice. The entire restaurant feels a bit "squeezy" but there is sufficient room once you're seated. Drinks - I had a ginger beer- it was great. Nice and snappy, flavorful, and not from a bottle - made on site. Good stuff. Appetizer - the New Orleans BBQ shrimp were perfect. Nice smoky flavor, delicious - and shrimp are nice sized and cooked just right. Main course - Shoulder tenderloin - The three pieces were unfortunately overcooked, dry and crispy on the outside. Asked for MW, far closer to well done. Wife's was similar - overcooked, and with grill charred meat chunks stuck to the outside. The rest of the dish was superb - asparagus was very tasty, properly cooked, and the sauces and polenta/potatoes were spot on. For a place called Prime, I expected near perfection on the meat. Same result twice now, for two people. Not a great track record. But, hey, given how delicious the overall meal is, I'll be a bit more "pointed" in how to cook the meat next time. read more

Ordered the half roasted chicken with asparagus. Subbed out mashed potatoes for roasted broccoli. The Goods: Freaking delicious. The chicken was incredibly juicy and the flavor was to die for. I'm more a steak consumer than poultry, but I would order this over steak 6/10 times...and that's saying a lot for me, folks. The Not-So-Goods: It was $24... Twenty. Four. Dollars. For roasted chicken in garlic butter sauce and some asparagus. If it hadn't been on the company dime, there's no way I would've paid that much for chicken, no matter how yum. Happy Hour - that is the best thing here, the bartenders are top notch and happy hour food is in my humble opinion a great deal for what you get. The happy hour prime rib sandwich is awesome, the meat is succulent and the au jus is has a great balance to it. Last night we stayed a bit later and a an entrée to share which was gnocchi and short ribs is was ok but why we ordered gnocchi at a steak house I will never know. However very surprising was the absolutely delicious dessert - I don't even remember what is was called....some kind of banana cake, calling it that really doesn't do it justice it was great. read more

Overpriced and the steak sucks. The steak itself just isn't that good. Lacks any seasoning or flavor. Mine was undercooked- asked for medium rare, received a steak that was raw in the middle. Server replied that they typically cook their steaks on the rare side. Here's a thought- if I order a steak medium rare, cook it medium rare. They offered to fix the steak, after I had already cut into it. What came back was a charred black burnt (and not in a good steak crust way) steak that was now overcooked, allowed all of the juices to escape it. This is the second time I've tried this place, once when it first opened and now. The experience was the same. The steak sucks. You could honestly get a better steak at outback steakhouse. These prices are almost Daniel's broiler prices, whom produces a steak exponentially better. Not impressed, won't be returning. read more

Went here for brunch a few weeks ago. Had their Waygu Chicken Fried steak, which was novel but did not seem any different from the Denny's variety. Unfortunately, the potatoes and eggs were both WAY over-salted. My wife reported the same issue. When the server asked how things were, we said the eggs were too salty. It helped that our server introduced herself and said, "I'll be taking care our you today," which struck a old school bell. They give generous portions so it's OK to be conservative on ordering food. Luke, our server, was very helpful and attentive. They customized our salads to accommodate our individual tastes. My steak was a bit under done but Luke was able to get it exactly I like it in record time! The only issue I had is the tenderloin plate was very busy.... There was a lake of mashed potatoes with whole carrots and asparagus laid alternately in the potatoes across the plate with the tenderloin swimming in the middle. This steakhouse is exactly that! PRIME! The parking system is simple, just bring your license number to the host and it's no cost to park. There is a great social setting in the bar area. We made a reservation and it was tucked away in the back corner, which is nice if you want a quiet romantic dinner. I had the 8oz Filet mignon and roasted bone marrow and it was delightful. The bone marrow was one of the greatest things I've tasted and is a meal in itself with a very large portion! My girlfriend had the tenderloin trio which is 3 small steaks with 3 different approaches. Very good. Overall on the pricey side but going to any steakhouse that's what you know going into it. The service was pretty good - nothing outstanding, but the staff was attentive. The food was good, but I think perhaps a little overpriced to be spending over $100 after tip on a shared meal and we did not even order drinks with dinner. I recall the ambiance, service and quality of food to be better at El Gaucho, to be honest. This restaurant really is quite compact and rather loud. I have seen in other reviews that they do have a good happy hour, so I would definitely consider coming back another time to check that out - I think I would like this place better for some good apps and drinks with friends. read more

I love Prime. I love Jaks in Issaquah but Prime really brings it up a notch. Every meal here has been spectacular. The food is always well prepared and the ribeye is delicious. I've fined for dinner with large groups and date night and done happy hour too. I had a great experience each time. My only complaint is the prices are comparable to JH, Daniels or el gaucho and the elegance and ambiance really does not match. The food however is on par with those steakhouses. read more

I ordered a wedge salad and the edges were brown as if the letuce had been sitting out. I asked for no onions but it came full of them. We tried the bone marrow and it was not my cup of tea. Tasted like congealed gravy. The steaks were marginal with little flavor. The potatoes were dry and not seasoned well. The desert was ok but nothing to write home about. That was 5 days ago. **.We were to be credited for the dessert ordered To Go. We ordered one of of the Chocolate Flourless Cakes after we had finished our dinner there. When we got home, we opened up the box and saw they gave us a burnt dessert. Not a little burnt , we named it the hockey puck. After a very expensive dinner that included plastic in my son's food, which we put on a plate and notified/handed the waitress, and than being charged for an item that was included with our entree and having to point this out to the waitress to adjust the bill. The burnt dessert was the finale. So I did call in about the dessert and discussed with a manager. Still no follow up and disappointed that they would serve something like this to someone . I really wanted to like this place. Reserved a date night for my wife's bday prior to seeing a show at Marymoor. Based on their menus and atmosphere I can tell they're trying to capture the same type of dining atmosphere as el Gaucho. They almost had it also... Except the service was pretty darn slow and the food took a solid hour to make its way out to us. 3/4 of our food, steaks included had cooled off- roughly room temp, while the macaroni was piping hot. I had to remind our server a couple times about a missing drink order, and the wife was just rather disappointed with the whole experience. We won't be coming back. read more

I dined at Prime a few weeks after they opened and unfortunately had the worst $200 meal of my life. Then we stopped by for happy hour a few times and I thought the kitchen had figured things out. Tonight "Did I mention the Bisque" We experienced the worst Lobster Bisque ever! It was burnt and curdled, and had bacon in it, I'm really not sure what all was in that bowl. This makes me question who is minding the kitchen. The steak was dry an chewy, and I won't go on boring you with how horrible our dinner experience was. The cuts of meat are ok and there are only so many places that offer a good tomahawk, but the drinks are middling and there are so many better places even within walking distance of Prime. If you had asked me the first time we went to Prime what rating I would give it, it would be a 2 or 3 as I didn't care much for the place or the food but others with us seemed to like it. Something must have changed as they grew into their space. We tried this place again happily....and the food was out of this world. Started with some fabulous cocktails, perfectly made. I have to point out that I am not really a steak eater so I always pray they have other things on the menu. Roasted Bone Marrow to start for my hubby which he said was amazing as was his steak (seriously they serve a Tomahawk here which is a whopping 20 oz). I ordered the Gnocchi which was decadent and delicious. We did order vegetables which were also wonderful and had a fabulous dessert. Wow. Just WOW! The ambiance is inviting and the food is outstanding! We started with the brussel sprouts ( I hate brussel sprouts) and they were surprisingly different and good! The shrimp appetizer was amazing! I had the halibut and my husband had a steak. I loved my choice, but his steak was even better! Delicious! He ordered the au gratin potatoes and they were decadent! We also had the wild mushrooms - amazing! I would highly recommend visiting Prime! It will definitely be a place we visit again and again! Too bad we don't live in WA! This is a great fine dining establishment, but also a nice quiet place to grab a well made cocktail in the evening if you're looking to escape the noise and chaos of Redmond's usual nightlife fare. It's an intimate space, so if you have a larger group, it'll be a tight fit. The happy hour menu is pretty good and the desserts are awesome, especially the creme brûlée. Alexis was our bartender last week and she was awesome and friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. Jeremy is also an amazing bartender/bar manager, and will help you fight Decepticons if they ever show up and give you trouble. He also turns into a semi truck to drive home at night. read more

I absolutely loved this steakhouse. Decided to order steamed clams which came with a side of brioche, toasted with garlic. I later found out that they actually toast this garlic bread on the grill in the juices from the steak. OMG.. This was just an appetizer mind you, but we couldn't get enough of just dipping that bread in the steamed clam juices. I think we went through three or four plates. Amazing!!!! Ugh This place sadly disappointed and dissatisfied me so much. Took my lady, we love Steak and go to every kind of Steakhouse. Both ordered their Ribeye, terrible! Worst steak I have ever had !!! I gave it to my dog the next day and felt guilty that he was eating it. It was tough and had a funky flavor. 1st time in my life I haven't finished a steak. French Onion soup, terrible again!!! The cheese on top was like rubber. Oh we also ordered Caesar salad. Guess what.... Yes worst Caesar I ever had, how do you screw that up!!! The service was not bad but I still have to give 1 star because I get angry every time I realize I spent $170 for a garbage dinner.
