If you take nothing else away from this review, just know that these are the best tortillas in town. All hand-made and it has this amazing chewy and soft consistency...almost akin to (dare I say) mochi. I don't generally care what tortillas my tacos are served with but that's what I noticed most. The carne asada and adobada were well-seasoned/marinated and flavorful. Their salsa roja was delicious and they even have an amazing habanero salsa to give you that extra kick! Lastly, service is always great. I usually come Sunday nights and the gentlemen there is always serving with a smile. Orange County has countless options for tacos, but in our embarrassment of riches, sometimes you just don't want to go "far" to get them. This is one of the few taco shops in the 2-3 mile radius () canyon area of North Orange/Anaheim Hills border and I believe it is one of the best kept secrets. Honestly, this is a true hidden gem in the most random place in Anaheim. We were passing thru back to San Diego and yelped "mariscos" and this quaint spot came up so we thought to give it a try. This place was sooo freaking good! I haven't had good Mexican food in such a long time. Everything was fresh and made to order. Shrimp tostada was my favorite! This is such a gem. Small mom and pops Mexican restaurant. Only 5 tables. The husband and wife are doing it together. They do a lot of take out orders. I had two tacos and a tostada. My husband had 4 tacos. I did a carne asada tostado- with a chicken and carnitas to o & my hasvand had 2 chicken and 2 carnitas tacos- everything's made fresh to order with hand made tortillas - we loved the food. Excellent food and service, prices are reasonable. El Coyotito is a "hole in the wall" restaurant in a small shopping center. Like most small restaurants, they did not waste money on fancy decorations but instead focus on providing good food. So the restaurant is small but the flavor is big. I came with my mom on a cold, rainy day because we wanted something hot and flavorful, so we got machaca and pozole. The food was great, made fresh to order in front of us. Traditional flavors. We tried El Coyotito 2 for the first time this evening and ordered takeout. The ordering process was super easy - the gentleman who answered the phone initially spoke Spanish, but when I responded in English, he switched over seamlessly. No issues at all placing my order. We ordered three wet burritos: chorizo, carne asada, and carnitas, all with red sauce. Unfortunately, they were out of green sauce and tortas that evening, but honestly, what we got was amazing. These burritos were absolutely delicious - hit the spot, and not too spicy. The order also came with fresh salsa and chips, and the salsa was really tasty. My husband picked up the order, which was ready right on time as promised. He mentioned the strip mall location isn't in the most desirable area: next to a liquor store and tattoo parlor. But the place itself is small and has that authentic "hole-in-the-wall" or "mom and pop" shop vibe where you find the best food. The pricing was very reasonable too - three wet burritos came out to $34 with tax. The takeout service was excellent, and we'll definitely be ordering again. I'm already looking forward to trying other items on their menu, especially since it's so close to us. I was in the area looking for somewhere to eat and I so happened to find this place on Yelp. As soon as I walk in I notice it's an open kitchen of decent size but the dining area was quite small, which I actually appreciated how small and adorable it was. I was greeted by the nice man who gave me time to look at the menu, I ordered a quesadilla de harina con asada, a taco de cabeza and a glass coke. I was also given chips and salsa while I waited. For the amount of money that I paid, there was a lot of food, luckily I hadn't eaten all day so I able to finish it all.
