After much anticipation, the Primo's in Wyo finally opened with a celebration that involved a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a visit from not one, but two Miss Philadelphia winners. Even with Reading being a hotbed for local sub shops, many locals (including a handful of self-proclaimed hoagie aficionado friends of mine) swear by Primo's and believe that, despite being a chain with over 115 locations, their hoagies stand up with the best of them. After trying my first ever hoagie from Primo's, I can now say I'm a believer. Generous portions of zesty Italian meats are piled high on a seeded roll that elevates the whole kit and caboodle. The only component lacking was the lettuce in my opinion, which I found sparse and soggy. On the other hand, the tomatoes and onions were perfectly portioned and appeared to be drizzled with some sort of Italian seasoning/olive oil blend that really cranked things up to an 11. What maybe impressed me most was the execution by the staff on such a frantic day. The first 100 people to arrive received a free hoagie. Many more than that showed up. Incredibly, the pace was quick and efficient. Maybe we were lucky, but it only took about 5 minutes from the time we ordered to when our names were called. Everyone was pitching in, including the two Miss Philadelphia's who helped distribute hoagies to eager patrons. Just a really fantastic debut for what should be a sandwich staple in Wyomissing for years to come. read more

Never been to a Primo. Ordered a chicken suprimo. Took 18 minutes to get it. Guy said yea, lots of chickens on previous order..... you ought to see on a weekend, it's an hour wait!! NO WAY. Chicken was like a chicken nugget. Mozzarella was extremely small. Breast was not bad. Cole slaw was crazy sweet. All in all, horrible service and attitude and very average food. I will not be back. How does this place stay open with 5 employees and 3 customers and it took almost 20 minutes for one sandwich. read more

I was here recently with someone who was visiting and wanted to try the Primo take on a Philly Cheese (I promise I'll be back to get Italian sandwiches) and was really impressed with the taste, but more importantly, the service. They are Finally Open! I have been waiting for years to get a Primo Hoagie in the Reading area! Welcome to Wyomissing PH! I unfortunately did not make it in time for the opening at 10 am. I did make it there around 11:15. The place was packed and there were some seated outdoors and waiting for their orders. I finally received my order around 11:45, no complaints, I understand first day and packed delays! I ordered 3 Primo sized hoagies (medium) they were on sale today for $6.99 each! 1.Whacked Chicken (chicken cutlets,pesto and bruschetta) 1st time ordering this. 2. Big "T" Diablo ( peppered turkey and ham, hot pepper cheese, Black pepper, Oregano and Diablo Spices) 3. Italian Diablo ( Hot Soppressata,Sharp Provolone, Hot Capicola & Spicy blend of spices) All of them you can get LTO, Oil, Vinegar, Mayo, Hot Peppers, Pepper shooters, Sweet peppers, Hot pepper spread etc. if you want them. The Chicken one was really good. We have had the Turkey/Ham one before, it's good. I'm saving the Italian for lunch tomorrow. They have sides, hoagie trays, sampler platters, and various desserts. I love most of the Hoagie places here in Reading area, but sometimes you want something different. Primo is different from all of the others! Their rolls are better, more like a true hard roll with seeds. Their meats are sliced fresh for each sandwich (you don't need to see Danny Davito to get fresh sliced meat! Its always something at the Wyomissing location, today I was there at 10 am at the open and the lady came flying out of the back and says if you want anything here it will be at least a 30 minute wait because we have orders. Last time there must have been a meat shortage, time before that the dude kept the coupon money as a tip. I have been at bensalem, norristown and countless other primo's without an issue but this location is a little over the top. From now on if they are free at wyomissing I am driving bye. Food can be good at times too many sesame seeds. Can not Order on Phone with out giving random person all your Credit Card Info including code. Staff Rude when ask questions and cant explain menu. Website Payment system sub-par and not secure for 2025. Such a shame. Poor customer service read more

First visit to this new location and I encounter a rude, very gruff employee taking my order. Extremely condescending. After a little back and forth with my order and paying, she informs me THEN, that it will be 25-30 minutes wait. I would have appreciated her mentioning that BEFORE I ordered. Requested her to cancel my order and refund my purchase. The manager likely overheard the entire exchange as he was making a sandwich right behind this employee. He said nothing as he cancelled the transaction. So disappointed as I am a huge fan to Primo's other locations closer to the Philadelphia area. read more

Primo has been my favorite hoagie for years. I was so excited when we had one opening near us. I usually get the Mild Sharp Italian. The last time I got it, I thought they made a mistake and gave me regular provolone instead of sharp. I chalked it up as just a mistake. Just got another one today with my son and the same thing. I absolutely love Primo Hoagies. They have high quality deli items that make their sandwiches superb. My favorite sandwich is the Philly Cheesesteak with cheese whiz, fried onions, and pickles. You can customize your sandwich with whatever cheese and toppings you like. They also have chips and sides (potato salad, cole slaw, macaroni salad, pepperoni bites, marinated mozzarella balls, and more!) the customer service is great--the store associates are very friendly and eager to serve you. If you're looking to feed 3-5 people, I recommend the 2 foot option. You can dine in or take out. The restaurant is in a beautiful location next to other cool spots. Enjoy! read more

We walked into the shop an hour before close and we were picking out our drinks and the lady asked if we were placing an order and we said yes and she said she might not have enough bread so she asked her workers and they said they had 1 roll left, then when I said I would get a sandwich she said she has to feed her workers, and then proceeded to essentially kick us out, how are you gonna be out of rolls at a sandwich shop... and then refuse service an hour before you close... read more

4 stars because the sandwiches were wonderful and it's hard to find a good hoagie with cole slaw. Please be sure to train staff to LABEL each hoagie because we shouldn't have to open them to determine which one it is. That's unsanitary and would prevent me from ordering again if it happens again. Sandwiches are good but I was charged for marinara on a Philly Cheese Steak and they did not put the marinara on. I tried to contact "customer service" -there is no customer service contact, per se. Anyone considering on going here to eat or work do not. The owner (Nick Blank) is a huge hothead who blames all of his mistakes on his employees and can't take any accountability for his actions, treats his workers and customers with disrespect and will call you offensive terms, will throw and slam things all over the place when it gets busy and even ended up throwing a sandwich towards my feet when it was made incorrectly (which was also his mistake). It's a real pain to work with someone who doesn't know how to run a restaurant let alone sandwich shop and I never had any experience like this until I worked at this primo hoagies so for anyone that decides to come here whatsoever I would suggest staying away from here and getting something else because these people are rude and disrespectful and the prices for the sandwiches are expensive so you're better off getting something at jersey mikes instead or even a local sandwich shop. When this site first opened it was great as other primos have been. The people are very friendly and enjoyable. However like most places today this site is now cutting back on the items within their great bread. Hoagie meats are now less and thinner even the fixings have been cut back so now it is primarily bread. The same is true with their steaks as well. It is a shame, we thought it was just one time at first but this our third time with very little inside and for the higher price the quality is no longer there. We hope they will return one day for now we are looking elsewhere. read more

The food is fine, every primo is standard no matter where you go. The management however is another story. He has a policy where you cannot order food without paying for it first, i.e. you can't place an order and pay when you pick up. In my case I had a gift card. I wanted to place my order and pay with my gift card when i picked up, as i don't have much time during the workday and did not want to wait the 15 minutes i waited in the store, as i knew i would, since they messed up the first sandwich (put oil and seasoning on it without my requesting it). When i then told the owner how i didn't think it was a good policy and was inconveniencing his customers, he called me an "ass" at which point I left the store, never to return.
