My bestie and I visited here on a Saturday - July 12th around 4pm for a very late lunch. They had a pretty good crowd setting up on the inside, looked like a big birthday party was happening soon! We chose to sit out on the patio, hoping to find a good table so we could enjoy Lake Ray Hubbard and weren't disappointed. We sat right next to the railing and enjoyed the view while we chatted away, catching up on things. Our server, Ross was polite, friendly & punctual, no complaints there. We both ordered the shrimp al Mesquite $25, with sodas and a side of guacamole. I would have loved an 'adult beverage', ha but I was going in to work. They have a full bar just inside and there were a few people there. The Shrimp Al Mesquite was so good! We're talking 6 large shrimp atop a cheese-topped bed of rice. The shrimp was very fresh and cooked perfectly and so was the rice. I opted for charro beans - so good. The chips and salsa were good. I usually try to skip them these days but I was hungry and they were fresh and crunchy! I can't wait to go back in the evening and really enjoy the ambiance. Like most patios, they do have birds looking for treats - just don't feed them and they'll leave you alone, lol.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. We were the first ones in the door on New Year's Day and the staff was still pretty peppy. We were seated near the windows. The view of the lake was refreshing after a stressful weekend. We ordered some drinks off the brunch menu to take the edge off. My eyes were drawn to the Sunrise Mimosa which was made with champagne and only $5. It took everything in me not to buy multiples :) They also brought chips and salsa for the table. The salsa is killer and has a nice kick to it. It's not like your typical Tex- Mex restaurant with watered down salsa. I saved it to put in pretty much all of my food. If you don't like spicy, avoid it. I'll preface this by saying that I'm from the east coast so when you ask for fajita anything, it's expected that your meal comes with grilled peppers and onions. That's not the case here in Texas haha. For once though, I ordered a fajita beef taco and it had nice slices of flavorful steak and peppers and onions. 10/10! I'd drive the 30 minutes every time I crave this meal! My mom order the shrimp cocktail and said that it was pretty good. It had a nice flavor. She just wished that the shrimps were bigger. Either way, she'd try it again. Lastly, we got the chocolate cake with ice cream which was okay. It honestly just taste like a Walmart cake. Despite the dessert, the entrees were fantastic!!!!! I will be back for sure. It was worth every bit of the 30 minute drive.

Food is great. But your chips are stale. Warm them up or something. Salsa could not overcome stale chips. Chips are not primo

Food is OK but you can get way better quality food somewhere else. The view is quite lovely though.

We were very pleasantly surprised. It's even better in my opinion. The people are very warm and friendly. The food is really delicious. I love that they bring not only good salsa with their fresh hot chips, but also a tomatillo sauce and a black bean dip. We've now eaten there several times. The taco meat has a nicely charred flavor. The tamales were very good. (I'm picky about my tamales. I've tried their ranchero sauce, chili con carne, and sour cream sauce. None of them disappoint. Their rice isn't dry like it is at many other Tex-Mex places. And their $5.00 all day frozen margaritas are worth it. We usually go for the lunch specials that run until 4:00. They don't have mole on the menu, yet. I'm looking forward to their future specials. In this day and age where it's hard to keep a restaurant open, I really hope this one survives. It's not fancy, but the food and service make it worth it. And I'm a picky person when it comes to spending money on food I don't make myself.

We have been to some nicer hole-in-the-wall restaurants, that we liked better, and felt more at home. The conference room chairs are uncomfortable, along with the flat decor with loud colors. For the food, all we can say is Meh...and the drinks are weak. There are so many better mexican restaurants to dine with, in this City.

I.got the crab enchiladas with beans and rice and they were delicious!! Creamy, crab tasted fresh, just the right amount of heat. My husband got the fajita combo and was equally as pleased with his fresh everything was! Chips were warm and salsa was good and spicy. We loved that they bring a spicy salsa and no so spicy as well. We've gone three times and each time we've gotten the same items. Quality and taste never changed- on one occasion we went pretty close to their closing time and STILL...great quality and service. Definitely a recommend!

Unfortunately, since the ownership change, the experience just hasn't been the same. The customer service is still decent, and I genuinely enjoy their spicy Mexican martini -- that's honestly the main reason I still stop by. However, the food quality has noticeably declined. Over the past year, I've experienced stomach issues after eating here, which had never happened to me before under the previous ownership. I'm not sure if it's a change in ingredients, preparation methods, or sourcing, but something is clearly different. It's disappointing because this used to be a go-to spot. I truly hope the new management takes a closer look at the food quality and consistency. There's a strong history here, and it would be great to see it restored.
