I called Jesse Moreno on Tuesday, he gave me a quote for a dryer vent cleaning over the phone and came in person to do the job that same Thursday. My dryer vent is odd and goes up through a wall in the center of the house and exits on the roof on the 2nd floor (thanks new home builder). I also asked him to inspect the full length of my vent tube, since houses in my area were known for rushed shoddy construction and part of the vent tube had come apart some years back (but was repaired by some AC guys I hired a few yrs ago). Jesse showed up 15min early and got the entire job done within about 35min, including a full cleaning of the vent tube from the roof all the way down to my dryer without having to move anything, take anything apart, and he spent a minimum of time inside my house. At my request, he also ran a camera down the tube to ensure there were no unrepaired breaks or leaks and everything was intact and working the way it was supposed to. At the end of the job he provided me with the video which showed my vent tube was sparkly clean, and he ended up charging me exactly what he quoted over the phone and not a penny more. Yes this job can be DIY if you have the right tools. But Jesse was so fast and clean and did the job so effortlessly, I feel like I will keep his number and call him every so often and save myself the time and effort. When I saw that my chimney was crumbling apart and the bricks were chipping away, I didn't have much hope it could be fixed without a complete rebuild. Lucky for me I called John of Pro-Tech Services. It took him several hours but the finished product astonished me. I couldn't tell there was ever anything wrong. He did absolutely beautiful work and it now looks in perfect condition. Other people later made this same remark about the work. John is also very knowledgeable of everything having to do with fireplaces and chimneys which reassured me that I was doing the most possible to properly maintain. And he did not try to add things on to increase the bill - an honest contractor. If I have any chimney/fireplace needs in the future, it's a sure bet of who I will call. I needed to get the chimney serviced and the drier duct cleaned out. Pro-Tech was able to come out and take care of both tasks, early the following week. They were on time, neat and professional. One gentleman took care of the fireplace, while I showed the other where the drier vent was on the roof. The drier had always been slow since we moved into our condo. John found that there was some kind of brush stuck in the duct that was blocking the flow. Now, the clothes dry in a single cycle - instead of 3 or 4 depending on the size of the load. And I'm able to use the auto-dry cycles at lower temperatures and still get things dried much quicker!! Awesome job, John and Shane from Pro-Tech!!! Thank you! read more

We had John Alonso and his co-worker out when we began a modification of an existing fireplace, as we wanted to be sure the chimney was clean and sound before we started. My fireplace in a home I bought would force hot air into the room and not exhaust. John was a real pro, climbed on the roof and in 5 minutes saw that the exhaust pipe was too long and hit the cover. I forget his name, but whoever I spoke with was very honest upfront that my pits were too small of jobs for him to work on but he referred me to someone for both pits and the bbq as well. His recommendation was Dan who came out and took a look at all 3 things. I believe Dan is with another company, if he or anyone from this company know please kindly reply to this post and inform what company that is! Dan was fantastic, gave me costs and showed me the issues then and there. He also looked at my pit in my front courtyard and was able to solve the minor issue at no charge, simple fix. I decided I didn't want my backyard fire pit fixed because the front one is much nicer and now that it is fixed I doubt I will ever use the one in my backyard--another project yay. Will have to demo it one day. Dan then fixed the bbq and it now looks incredible and works great. I have since used it a handful of times with no issues. Disappointed with Product Quality and Durability…read more I had high hopes for HB fire pits when I purchased my fireplace, but unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. After only 1.5 years, the unit has already stopped working properly, which is unacceptable for such an expensive investment. Despite following all maintenance recommendations, I've had issues with burner failure, electrical and remote. When I reached out the owner, he was very unhelpful, unresponsive and extremely rude every time I was able to get hold of him. A fireplace should last much longer than this, and I would not recommend HB FIRE PITS based on my experience. If you're considering purchasing from them, I strongly suggest looking into other options or ensuring you get an extended warranty. Also my next-door neighbor also purchase the same fireplace like mine at the same time, and she's been having many problems with the hardware and the owner. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service from HB fire pits, especially from the owner. When my fireplace started having issues, I reached out for repairs and maintenance, expecting professional assistance. Instead, I was met with rudeness, dismissiveness, and a complete lack of concern for customer satisfaction. Rather than standing behind their product and helping to resolve the problem, the owner was unhelpful and unwilling to take responsibility. Calls and messages were ignored or met with short, unprofessional responses. When I finally did get a response, it was clear they were more interested in avoiding the issue rather than actually fixing it. A company is only as good as its customer service, and unfortunately, HB Fire Pits fails in that regard. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a fireplace company that actually values its customers and stands behind its products.
