Heres the deal. Learn how auto insurance works. Learn how the Auto body shops work. Do your homework so there are not any surprises. Don't underinsure yourself either because chances are the person who hits you will be underinsured. Even though my brooker tried to steer me away from full coverage on one of my cars, I insisted to have full coverage for all the idiots out there who don't carry their share. I was a long time customer for another insurance company. I recently switched over when my insurance broker found me a better deal with Progressive. Plus I was ticked off at the other company. The price for 3 cars with full coverage was reasonable. A few months later I added another car, and again the price was right. After a year, my price actually dropped. But, don't think all that extra safety sensing equipment on your car will save you money. It actually costs more to insure those cars because they cost more to fix. I receive a bill every month in the mail. I can pay online via the website, smartphone application, by snail mail or via phone representative. Super easy. If Im ever late, they remind my brooker, and he shots me a reminder to pay. So insurance is good until you have to use it, right? Well, I was recently rear-ended. I text-cried to my brooker first. He knows how much I love my car. Then I called Progressive immediately to start my claim. Within a couple of days I was hooked up with a local So-Cal adjuster. (Original adjuster was on the East Coast) I dropped my car off at the dealer (shop of choice) and was set up with a rental car. Easy peasy. Unfortunately my car is very rare so parts are hard to come by, therefore my car is taking a little longer than it should. That's not Progressives fault. Yes its a pain in the butt waiting for repairs to be completed. But there is really nothing you can do, except wait Communication with the agents via phone and e-mail have been super quick. I felt like they really did care. Paperwork was sent out in a timely manner. Some tips for you. Dont be cheap. Get full coverage. In fact go beyond the minimum. Opt in for rental car reimbursement (in case its your fault) Read your policy. Better be safe, than sorry. Trust me, a trip to the hospital can cost well over $100,000. Nobody wants to be left with a bill like that. My only complaint was, they refused to offer me home owners insurance because I had a claim in the past with my previous insurance company when my car burned down with all my husbands airbrush and graphics equipment inside. Maybe Ill try again when my current policy expires. So yes. I am a fan. read more

Called today 11/30 to make a full years payment on auto insurance to be paid 12/12 on due date 12/13. Agent said she would set it up for 12/13. Before we hung up, I got a text that said she'd already taken the payment. I asked why, she offered to refund, I said okay. She said 5-7 days for refund. I said okay, let's set it up again to pay on 12/12. She said no, she can't do that since a refund is being processed, and that I need to wait until the refund is received, then call back in and can do it all over again. My youngest brother slid on black ice during the snowstorm in February, he had minor damage after hitting a guardrail - 1 headlight, a dent in the bumper, 1 side mirror, & the grille. My brother found a shop who can fix we everything for under $1,000, if my brother buys all the parts himself, which he has. His truck cost $12,000 & my brother has paid $8,000, plus some upgrades stereo ect. They're still trying to steamroll over him, & steal his truck from from him. Last night my husband who has two prosthetics and has difficulty moving around was stranded on highway 285 in the mountains of Denver. His car broke down. We have towing and roadside assistance but unfortunately Progressive let him sit in a very unsafe place for over 4 hours until i was able to pick him up. Thank God he wasn't killed by some truck or car who mau not have been able to see him in the dark. He had called for help numerous times but the people who answer the phones and do not speak English very well were unable to get him help. This is not only dangerous, it is unacceptible. I would give negative stars if I could. Progressive is the absolute worst!! Raised my rate after 3 years despite having "Good Driver" status because I live in a state they deem high risk. When I attempted to lower my rate by saying that I only drive to do errands, Progressive did a household search and added my brother in laws 22 year old college renter to my policy who has 4 points on their record. They said I have to have EVERYONE who lives in the house on my policy so my rates went up by over $1,5000. When I said I would change addresses and live with my sister Progressive said I was uninsurable. They cancelled my policy after 3 years of being a solid customer, 2 days before my policy expires. My son was hit in a parking lot. He was two weeks from graduating in florida and we had his car up for sale two days when he was hit. progressive wanted us to get the car fixed by their shop but we told them had no time. I told them we had to sell his car now so we didnt have to bring it back to california. I said I would just go through my insurance. When I called my insurance they said it would be best to go through progressive since we had dashcam footage showing it was their insureds fault. That day we tried to contact progessive. did so for many times no responce. I had the car buffed out to try to sell the car which we only had two day to do now before either taking a loss for the damage or just ship it home. when the car didnt sell in two days I engaged a shipper to bring the car home for $1500. now the car is home after another week we finally got progressive on the phone and he was estremely rude and they said only take current pictures and they will estimate the damage but would not use our before buffing pictures or estimate. Progressive is shady af! I totaled my car and my sister was in the car with me. She had been living outside of the state for over seven years and she is squatting at home for not even 2 weeks, until she moves back out. Of course Progressive hiked up my insurance $80 to add her to my policy with no letter or giving me a chance to exclude her from it. I spoke with Amber ex. 2018, Ms. I-Don't-Have-A-Last-Name, and she was a complete asshole about the situation like I was wrong for asking her why they're adding people to my policy without my authorization. Basically, they assume if someone has your same address they live with you. Like no pussies this is her mailing address. Then she says that if it's not my actual address then they'll cancel the policy, well it's not her actual address so take her off my policy! Proving me right! Have had them for over 12 years now and never had issues until recently. Had an accident, several years ago, where it wasn't my fault, but the other driver disputed. So Progressive took care of everything, no issues car gets fixed at there facility everything good. Now someone hits my car and come to find that facility is now closed, so i have to take it to get fixed. First they lowball me with an estimate by trying to give me a used part, not even aftermarket...wtf? I have a claim rep who doesn't return calls and the mechanic doesn't want to even order a part without getting there approval, which i'm trying to do. I have a car insurance policy with Progressive Drive insurance My 2015 Kia Optima with starting February 1st it was down if you were annoyed they told me they were going to have an inspection of the car just seeing what you needed well almost 30 days later they go and look at the car and tell me the catalytic converter is gone they are going to sell Rich the car he offered me $17,000 with paying with 30,000 they're going to take them by the car and resell it and make a profit will I get the key out of this I would not go to this company ever again I will find a different insurance company.. I had my travel trailer insured by them when my rear axel broke off. That doesn't happen on its own. Well, Progressive went to the repair shop to look at it and claimed it was not covered, they NEVER spoke to me directly or even gave me a chance to explain what happened. And worse, they were overcharging me for coverage because they claimed I had outstanding unpaid bills. Progressive is the worst! Yes they gave me a great deal on my home & auto insurance, so much so that when I got into an accident, next to nothing was covered! What is the point of having insurance if it does nothing. Got into my first car accident ever & it was not even my fault, although they blamed me & not the city bus that pushed me into another lane /car when it desided to merge into the traffic. I had to pay out of pocket for my car a BMW X5 & the car that tboned my door (a brand new range rover) because he could not slow down in time, since the bus pushed us all in such a hurry. Our cars were too new /expensive to be covered. The average car in LA is a Mercedes /BMW why not take that into account progressive? I would have gladly paid more to make sure I didn't get screwed thousands of dollars during a pandemic. There is a special place for insurance agents that will do anything just to get a sale. This is a sorry company. I was hit by one of their driver's and they never responded back to me to get the ball rolling. I had to report them to the Texas Department of Insurance for failing to take responsibility. They told me they need to talk to their insured driver first, yet he's not returning their calls. I gave them the police report showing their driver was at fault. Still, no response. I had to file a claim with my insurance for them to go after them. Progressive auto insurance is by for the worst insurance company I've ever done business with. My car hit something on the freeway and I had it taken in to their shop, because of the damage that the accident caused. Their body shop said that the damage was not from a collision and therefore I was committing fraud so they dropped me. I took my car to a second body shop explain the issue and they showed me on the bottom of the car where you could clearly see that something hard had hit the transmission and caused the issues that I had reported. Progressive is a crooked, greedy, unethical company. On November 30 I called them to set up a new policy to start this month after my previous insurance company's rates skyrocketed. Progressive initially gave me a $1300 6-month premium, which was great. However, after setting up my automatic payments and what not, for some reason my bank didn't take the payment (no explanation given from either side) and received a rescission letter that arrived DAYS AFTER the due date thanks to USPS sending my letter late, and the email they sent didn't make it to my inbox at all. (For reference, the letter's mailing date was the 9th, I didn't get the letter in my mailbox until just before X-Mas eve.) So after calling to try and rectify the situation explaining what had happened. I'm told they'd "see what they could do", but said they'd still have to rewrite my policy because the previous one had expired. Come to find out, the first crooked sales agent quoted me over $3k with the first payment being close to $600! I immediately asked to speak to his supervisor, only to explain my situation AGAIN, and this time I'm still getting the same quote! They quoted me as having not had insurance basically this entire month for a late arrival of my letter. After I explain how unfair this situation is and how I'm facing even more expensive rates with other providers because of this snafu, she goes on to explain that I was considered "high-risk" in the system, with them stating they couldn't do anything. I then told her I was no longer doing business with Progressive and hung up. To add insult to injury, RIGHT after ending the call, I receive an email from Progressive offering a slightly cheaper, albeit still expensive $2400 policy! What happened to "we can't make any adjustments"? Fortunately, I was able to go back to Liberty Mutual who gave me an earlier quote and locked in rates comparable to what I originally had w/ Progressive, just as a 12 month policy vs 6 months. The customer service and predatory business practices of this company is abhorrent and I'm making sure to share my experience on every single popular review board I can find. I was seen not as a customer in need of help, but rather as a target to be taken advantage of. This company is utterly despicable and I hope one day the insurance industry can be cleaned up for customer-centric companies to come forth and put crooks like Progressive out of business. So I get a letter in the mail yesterday on 2-5-2021 stating if I did not give information requested my insurance would be canceled on 2-2-2021 3 days prior to receiving letter. Mind you I have the app and I never received any other letter stating they needed any info. This review concerns itself with a subsidiary of Progressive, Mountain Laurel Assurance Company, of which Progressive is the parent company. I am sure this is a company that only handles risky drivers. If my experience is how the parent company functions, I STRONGLY do NOT recommend them. I had a very small occurrence with one of their policy holders, a minor dent in my car door. I had to jump through hoops with this company in filing a claim and after they submitted a proposal they claimed they did not acknowledge that their client was responsible. The collision shop now has to argue with them, not only over this, but the lowball figure they submitted. I was told by the body shop they keep no more than 2 progressive claims as they are so hard to work with. This is a nickel, dime fix and they are treating it like the car was totaled. They advertise low rates, but if you get into an accident they will do whatever they can to place some blame on you so they can increase rates or save money by not fighting the other party's insurance. Your adjuster sited unrelated California vehicle code to place blame on me, her own customer. The other party was caught lying, my adjuster admits that, but continues to endlessly defend the other parties case. I repeat, my insurance company (Progressive) is actively defending the other party's (State Farm) case. My insurance company (Progressive) told me I am lucky that they are not putting 100% blame on me, instead I should be happy with 70% blame. The word "lucky" is a direct quote.
